I would like to highlight to anyone seeking the perfect care home for their loved one, that their first consideration be Frank Foster House. It has an outstanding level of care, coupled with compassion and understanding, especially for those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. They have an excellent daily programme of stimulating activities, which are often enjoyed sat in the beautiful garden. Regular trips out, gives the residents the feel-good factor and keep them in touch with the life they previously enjoyed, before needing to be cared for. The well-respected Manager has a carefully selected and hardworking team. It is evident to all they are happy in their roles and delivering a high standard of care is their priority. My mum is so happy here now, after transferring from another home. Thank you Frank Foster House for keeping her safe, but more importantly making each day something for her to smile about again.

We would like to commend the excellent care provided by Frank Foster House to our much-loved mother, who sadly passed away on 26 January 2023. She was a resident at Frank Foster House from May 2021.
Right from the start we were pleased to see Mum take part in the daily activities and begin to make close friendships with other residents. Above all, we were pleased with the quality of care from the care assistants and team leaders, and the close attention from the manager and deputy.

In particular, we would like to highlight the quite outstanding care and attention which Mum received in the last 4 months of her life. She was deemed to be in need of End of Life Care, and the close liaison with the primary care team and district nursing services together with the love and affection shown by the staff meant that Mum's needs were met every inch of the way as her physical and mental health deteriorated. Mum herself recognised her excellent care and frequently thanked the staff.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your kind feedback. We work hard to provide outstanding care and take our relationships with the residents quite seriously. We're happy to hear that you're happy with the care your mother received. I will pass your kind words on to the wider team.

I just wanted to write and say how wonderful myself and my family think Frank Foster is. My mother who sadly passed away on Friday 28 October was in Frank Foster for the past 6 years. The home manager and all her staff there have been absolutely amazing caring and looking after my mum right up until the end. All the staff were always so kind, thoughtful and caring towards my mum and we are eternally grateful. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Frank Foster as a care home to anyone.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the love and care given to my mother during her time at Frank Foster House through such a difficult few years. The home is well run and spotlessly clean. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. Thank you for taking care of my mum, grandmother and great-grandmother, well recommended.

Our dad has been in care at Frank Foster for 18 months. It has been a challenging time for all care homes and their residents. I can only praise and thank the staff at Frank Foster for the amazing job they have done and continue to do. The family can feel confident that Dad is well looked after and genuinely cared for by the excellent staff.

My Mum has been at Frank Foster House for almost 2 years, she moved in during the pandemic and I really appreciate the support the management and staff gave to us all to help her to settle in as she has dementia, during lockdown the home enabled window/pod visits, telephone and videophone contact. Amazing in such difficult times. I can now visit freely, she has a lovely room with access to a garden and we go out when she's happy too. I am kept fully informed of her health and whenever she has had a 'worry' the home work with us to quickly resolve. Staff are always so kind and caring, we feel very satisfied she is receiving excellent care.

Difficult to gain access at times. Having to wait outside for long periods.
We are informed many activities cancelled, which my family look forwards to ie bingo, nail painting, bowls. Clothing disappears/not returned.

Bathroom constantly smells and not clean. Fresh fruit not regularly available we take as not offered daily. Due to weak teeth food options not available.

My aunt is in Frank Foster House. She is very happy here and well looked after. Staff are excellent. She feels very safe here, all her needs are met. She enjoys the activities, talking to other residents, and her clothes are always washed and ironed nicely. She enjoys the food and has put on weight since she has been here. My aunt was in through lockdown, and we were updated with all guidelines.

We are more than satisfied with the care our Mother is receiving at Frank Foster House. The staff do an amazing job making it a happy, restful place for the residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble and if there are any issues they are dealt with in a professional, helpful way.

The home is scrupulously clean and of a very high standard. Daily activities are arranged encouraging the residents to take part and socialise - although my Mum doesn’t participate she never feels lonely as the carers/staff are always popping in.

We are happy in the knowledge our Mum is being cared for 24/7 in a safe environment.

My mother has been a resident of Frank Foster house since September 2021. The care is broadly very attentive and the staff provide timely communication for any new issues whether urgent or more general etc

I found the home to be flexible for resident visits whilst remaining compliant to government guidelines (e.g: Covid) and also when taking my mother out of the home for scheduled visits to family.

Mum has been in Frank Foster for 4 years. My sister and I cannot thank you enough. The care you have shown our mum is second to none.

In the last 2 years with Covid, the home put the residents first even though at the start of the pandemic we couldn't go to see mum we were able to have face time and we knew she was safe and being cared for. It was hard for everyone but they came through it. We cannot thank the carers and staff enough.

My mum is content with the home (she does have dementia so as you understand it's difficult to pin down my mum's true feelings).

My mum moved into the home during Covid and I have only had pod visits with my mum, therefore my knowledge is limited.

Our Mother has been a resident of Frank Foster House at Theydon Bois for around 7 months now.
My sister and I can not fault the care and attention that our Mother has received and we are very thankful that this home was found for Mum.
She has a lovely room with lots of attention. Hair Dresser, manicures and plenty of conversation.
We even are able to take Mum over the Green at Theydon to The Queen Victoria Pub most Sundays for Lunch. The food in the home is great Mum is pleased with the level of quality and afternoon teas with cakes are a nice touch.

All in all my sister and I would say an excellent care home.

I wish to thank all the staff from my heart at the home for the care for my father who passed away at the home on the 26th December 2018 and the further care of my mother who passed away on 13th July 2021. Although they both reached a grand age of 97 and we're married for over 73 years it has been a great loss and a very large hole has been left in my life. Their kindness and care at the home will never be forgotten, my thanks and love go to you all.

My dad was very unhappy there and when lockdown happened he was very lonely, this caused him to stop eating and drinking. Window visits were very difficult as he was a bit deaf. I had had both of my vaccines and had he had his, but they still didn't allow me in to see him.
I was not called when he became ill and was having end of life care. I came to see him to say goodbye. I was not allowed in even though he only had the health professional with him, so myself and my children watched through a window, another member of staff came in and filmed us from her phone, very rude.

I was told that only my sister and her two daughters were allowed in as my sister was next of kin, but that was untrue because their children were also allowed in. It was disgusting, he was dying, his room had an entrance door next to his room. I would have worn full PPE and would not have come in to contact with any other residents. I work in a hospital ward and all relatives were allowed to see dying relatives.

I am more than satisfied with the care my Mum receives. It's lovely that the staff do her hair and nails and make a bit of a fuss of her as well as providing the basic care. Keeping active has always been important for my Mum so she loves dancing! I appreciate that measures have had to be put in place to protect residents but in spite of that, I always feel welcomed even when on the other side of a window.
