I come and visit my nan regularly, the staff are always helpful and welcoming, especially to my two young boys. Staff regularly put on entertainment for the residents and family are invited to join in.

My mother, whom is old, has settled in nicely in the home. She is basically happy with the help given in all matters as she is unable to do most things without assistance. She is, however, able to walk to the toilet with use of a frame provided, closely followed by a carer. She is also able to feed
herself. Her main event of the day is lunch and looks forward to it. As she is an insomniac mostly and only needs 4-5 hour's sleep, the night staff would need to be very watchful, as she hated the dark and having no company. The management are very friendly and helpful and will try to do all that is possible.

My sister was placed in the home suffering from dementia and diabetes. Having lived alone for most of her life, she found it difficult to adjust to being with lots of people, but the staff were very patient and used to take her for walks most days to calm her. She got to know the staff really well and
they used to make a fuss of her. Towards the end of her life, when we visited, there was always two staff members in the room with her. The care and attention she received was excellent and you should be both pleased and proud of your staff.

My mum is 92 and has dementia and living on her own has caused her health to massively decline. She was taken to hospital as she had become very ill and after various assessments, they advised she needed full-time care. She was accepted by Mundy House but my mum was very distressed and confused, she
couldn't understand why she was there. The staff were excellent, they made her feel very welcome and knew just to how to make her feel safe and calm. She has been there just over a month now, her health has improved and the staff continue to reassure her and make her smile.

My mum has been on respite care a couple of times she has now become a resident. She has settled in very well and is more relaxed than I have seen her in years. She is always clean and happy. Dad is also a resident he was admitted a couple of weeks ago, he has found it more difficult to settle. The
managers and staff have been extremely supportive in helping with this transition. The care from the staff is wonderful they are all angels. At least my parents remain together I know they are safe and secure and well cared for, they will bever be lonely. Thank you.

I would like to say how well my mother was looked after in Mundy House Care Centre. I am very impressed with the general attitude of the staff. They are always very cheerful, very caring and always willing to help. The food and entertainment are also excellent. I wish my mother had been sent to Mundy
House Care Centre sooner. The general decor could probably so with some improvement but overall Mundy House Care Centre is excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I went into 'Mundy House Care Centre' following an operation whilst my family put a care package in place to enable me to return home. Many dementia patients and the staff, carers, domestic and catering staff were very patient and helpful knowing us all by name. Although there was the overbearing smell
of urine, the cleanliness seemed good. The food seemed to be dependent on the chef/cook on duty that day with one providing home cooked meals including cakes and fresh sandwiches and the small desserts were very poor with little choice and quantity. This seemed to be at the weekend when staff were "thin on the ground" and the tables had not been cleaned after lunch. Overall, for me, the boredom was very difficult and I left for those reasons. In the rooms, one had to ask inmates who did not suffer from dementia for water.

My dear mum moved into Mundy House in April 2015. She suffers from dementia and throughout her stay has received the best care I could wish for. My father is able to spend all day with her, which is a great comfort to both of them and all staff have been very kind to him at all times even arranging
a party for his birthday, which was beyond the call of duty! I would like to give special thanks to the management and senior staff, including the entertainment team who are all so kind and dedicated and kitchen staff who always make a special effort when mum's appetite is so poor. Huge thanks to all at Mundy House!

My wife has been a resident since March 2015. She suffers form advanced dementia. Her physical condition has improved immensely in this time due to excellent care. I visit every day, her room is very good, clean, and comfortable.
My wife has always been a very independent and modest person, the caring
staff help with this in every possible way. There is a lovely garden and good entertainment provided, my daughter and I take her out regularly, weather permitting, and I feel she is on the whole, happy with the situation.

I live in Australia and my mother is a resident at Mundy House. My mother is 79 and has Parkinson’s disease. Since living at Mundy House my mother’s happiness has improved incredibly; he tells me so and I can hear it in her voice. Each time I telephone the home, the staff go out of the way to ensure
my mother is comfortable and undisturbed so we can chat freely. My mother came to MH from a difficult home situation and the care home has been, and continues to be, good for her. My mother arrived at MH on a temporary basis but has made the decision to stay for the long term; a testimony to how positive she feels about the home considering her condition. I have full confidence in the staff and facilities of Mundy House and would happily recommend this care home.

I first visited Mundy House several years ago, this lady I visited died. By then some of the residents used to look forward to me going around, talking to them and sharing some jelly babies because the soft sweets weren't such a risk as other sweets so regards to them being able to swallow them in safety
and everybody seems to like them. I visit every other Tuesday.
Now I would like to point out how wonderful the staff, the care and compassion is. Also respect and patience they show towards the residents, especially when sometimes dealing with a distressed person, likewise the residents seem to be in very good and caring hands and very happy and content!

Mundy House provided a warm and welcoming environment, the rooms are relatively well appointed serving all my mothers basic needs, and encouraged her to bring in her own possessions to personalise her own space. The food is nutritious and every effort is made to cater to individuals with special dietary
needs. i.e providing regular snacks and drinks if any of the residents cannot eat a full meal or leave their room. The protocol regarding safeguarding is excellent, when my mother was unable to eave her room for many months; regular checks were made to ensure her wellbeing and safety. The staff did their best to support her during this time both practically and emotionally to try and keep her spirits up. The carers and the manager were caring and professional providing my mum with the best of both worlds, excellent professional care and at the same time providing her with the warmth of personal interaction. The manager was really caring and professional, trying to accommodate all of my mothers needs where possible and always interacting with her when he was on duty and taking a personal interest in her welfare. All the staff at the home were absolutely fantastic during my mothers last few days before she passed away, always ensuring that she was never left alone and providing emotional support me and my family. I could not have managed without them and I am eternally grateful.

Josi George

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2004

The Registered Home Manager, Josi George, has a passion for the care of older people, he works alongside his staff to ensure they offer the best in individual care for the residents. He achieved Level 5 in Leadership and Management in 2016. Also, he completed the My Home Life course for the Care Home Managers in 2016 conducted by the Essex Local Authority. Josi also has NVQ level 3 in Management, health & social care along customer care. He has also completed training courses in all mandatory subjects in the past and will continue attending all Healthcare Management Solutions own courses.


Josi has achieved Champions in Dementia through the Alzheimer’s Society and is a trained trainer for Dementia care. Josi has 20 years of experience in care and he has been the manager of Mundy House since 2014.
