Mundy House Care Home

Mundy House has provided a safe and caring environment for our Nanna. The staff are great, friendly, caring and always on hand to help. We are all grateful for the peace of mind we now have knowing she is being looked after in such a nice place and that she is now happy and content. We are also impressed with the cleanliness and airy atmosphere.

All in all, it helps immensely to know, we can have total confidence with the way my mother in law is being looked after.

I am 95 years old and I am still using internet and laptop. I am a member of Tai Chi society. I do my exercise regularly here. The management provided all the facilities for me.

I couldn't be more pleased how everybody at Mundy House looks after my Mum. Its long time since I have seen my mum so happy. Every service you could want is made available and she is very pleased with that.

The service Mundy House provided was of excellent standard. They were compassionate, caring and always with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were always consulted before any action was taken. We would recommend this home unreservedly.

My mother in law is in Mundy House last 6 years. She wishes to remain at Mundy House as she is happy. Her needs are met by the staff and she find all staff are helpful and friendly. She enjoys the company of the staff and other residents.

My mum has been in Mundy House for just over six and half years. She is very settled and Happy. Her all needs are met by the staff whom she finds very friendly and helpful. My mum enjoys the company of the staff and other residents and staff treated her with dignity and respect. I am very happy that my mum is in Mundy House being looked after 24/7. Staff always contact me if they need me.

Having never had a relative in a care home before I didn't know what to expect on my first visit to see my nan. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful all the staff were and how clean and tidy the home was. My nan seems very happy here and it was wonderful to see her smiling and laughing again.

After my Grandad passed away, we had to make the hard decision to move my Nan who has Alzheimer's into Mundy house. We were worried how she would take to the move, but she has settled in nicely and seems a lot calmer. The food and entertainment are excellent. I would like to thank the amazing staff for the care they give her and making sure she is relaxed and happy! It is definitely a weight off of our family's minds to know that she is being cared for so well.

My mother had been a resident in Munday House for one year. She died on 2nd February 2017. We live in Durham so had to rely on a lot of phone calls and emails, But all members of staff have been excellent in regards getting mam to the phone, putting her music on for her. The attitude from all the staff members has been marvellous.

Lovely to see such good interaction between not only the carers and patients, but amongst staff themselves, and the way they treat the friends and family too. Everyone was friendly and there is a genuine, community feeling which wouldn't be instilled in the care home if it wasn't for the carers. It is reassuring to know that our loved ones are being looked after with quality care given to them physically and emotionally and that their private rooms are well facilitated and made as homely as possible whilst the communal rooms are a relaxed, comfortable environment.

Mundy House Care Centre has lived up to my expectations and more. I'd never, until now, been inside a care home and have been pleasantly surprised by the friendly and caring staff and the homely feel of Munday House. We were dreading putting my mother in law in there but now wish we had done it sooner. She is so settled, is enjoying the activities, has a lovely room which is a mini version of the house she left behind and we have seen a more happy and humorous side to her in the last month! We can only put this down to seeing different people every day, being in a routine and the staff's efforts in making her feel comfortable. Thanks everyone at Munday House you are doing a wonderful job.

I come and visit my nan regularly, the staff are always helpful and welcoming, especially to my two young boys. Staff regularly put on entertainment for the residents and family are invited to join in.

My mother, whom is old, has settled in nicely in the home. She is basically happy with the help given in all matters as she is unable to do most things without assistance. She is, however, able to walk to the toilet with use of a frame provided, closely followed by a carer. She is also able to feed herself. Her main event of the day is lunch and looks forward to it. As she is an insomniac mostly and only needs 4-5 hour's sleep, the night staff would need to be very watchful, as she hated the dark and having no company. The management are very friendly and helpful and will try to do all that is possible.

I have found everyone welcoming, friendly and cheerful and the atmosphere calming and homely. I have felt very comfortable during my stay and all my visitors have felt the same way.

My sister was placed in the home suffering from dementia and diabetes. Having lived alone for most of her life, she found it difficult to adjust to being with lots of people, but the staff were very patient and used to take her for walks most days to calm her. She got to know the staff really well and they used to make a fuss of her. Towards the end of her life, when we visited, there was always two staff members in the room with her. The care and attention she received was excellent and you should be both pleased and proud of your staff.

My mum is 92 and has dementia and living on her own has caused her health to massively decline. She was taken to hospital as she had become very ill and after various assessments, they advised she needed full-time care. She was accepted by Mundy House but my mum was very distressed and confused, she couldn't understand why she was there. The staff were excellent, they made her feel very welcome and knew just to how to make her feel safe and calm. She has been there just over a month now, her health has improved and the staff continue to reassure her and make her smile.

Since my mum has been here at the home, I have noticed how much calmer she has become. This is due to the excellent care that my mum receives from all of the staff here.

My mum has been on respite care a couple of times she has now become a resident. She has settled in very well and is more relaxed than I have seen her in years. She is always clean and happy. Dad is also a resident he was admitted a couple of weeks ago, he has found it more difficult to settle. The managers and staff have been extremely supportive in helping with this transition. The care from the staff is wonderful they are all angels. At least my parents remain together I know they are safe and secure and well cared for, they will bever be lonely. Thank you.
