I have volunteered here for a little over 3 months. I help with activities mainly but will help in other ways if asked to. I find it a warm and friendly home where I feel I am accepted & valued and fit in with the team here. I'm not after a job but somewhere I can come and help when I'm able to and it works for me and the home.

My Mum has been in Oakdale for almost 2 years and our family are very happy with the way she has been looked after in there.
My Dad has also now become a resident here too, which is confirmation of our satisfaction of this Carehome.

When we visit we are treated as family or old friends by all of the staff, they are very respectful.

It was a very difficult decision putting my mum into care, I had looked after her since Lockdown and could no longer cope as her altzeimers got increasingly worse. With the help of my family we found Oakdale and have been relieved and pleased that she has settled in well and is being well cared for by all the staff. Many thanks to all the team for their professionalism, dedication and wonderful work they all do.

My father has been staying at this care home for some time now, and as a family, we couldn't be more grateful for the care he receives. From the very beginning, the staff have been kind, compassionate, and incredibly attentive.
Every member of the team treats my father with dignity and respect. They take the time to get to know him as a person - his preferences, his routines, It's clear that they genuinely care, and that means everything to us.
The communication with our family has also been excellent. We're always kept informed, and any questions or concerns are handled quickly and professionally. It gives us real peace of mind knowing he is in such capable and caring hands.
The home itself is warm, welcoming, and always clean, creating a comfortable and safe environment. Most importantly, my father feels happy and secure there - and that speaks volumes.

Thank you to the entire team for the wonderful work you do every day.

I have found all staff very friendly and attentive to my mum, I put my mum in for rest bite one day a month . My mum has dementia and altzeimers she seems to relax when in the home , at first she was very nervous but now seems to recognise the building.

My dad has lived at Oakdale for six years now and I am so pleased he is there. From the moment I first visited and spoke with Melanie I knew dad would be well cared for and happy. The staff are amazing and work very hard, nothing seems to be too much trouble. His care and medical needs have increased over the years but this has not been a problem for Oakdale. The food is good and there's plenty of it, his room is clean and tidy and dad is always well dressed.

The best part of Oakdale is that it's a real family. The residents are happy, visitors always welcome and management very helpful and knowledgeable. Oakdale has not only looked after my dad but have helped me through tough times with dad.

We moved Mum here a year ago from another home she had been in for 3 years. We searched and visited many back in 2022 but somehow Oakdale slipped through the net or she would have been here 4 years ago. We cant fault it one jot and would highly recommend it.

I've always found the staff and managers at Oakdale to be caring, professional and open to discussing mum's care.
They work hard to tailor their care to what my mum wanted and to accommodate her medical needs.

All of mum's visitors are always welcomed warmly by the team. I am confident my mum is well cared for and Oakdale seems a happy place

Earlier this year, my brother, sister and I arranged respite care at Oakdale for our mum, Sally. Mum was there for eight weeks and was looked after very well. The food was plentiful and there were indoor and outdoor activities for the residents. The staff are lovely (and some have been there for years, which speaks volumes). Oakdale has a very 'family' feel to it and we were always made to feel very welcome when visiting. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Oakdale to others.

It was a refuge when needed. I live alone and fell and shattered my right shoulder in 4 places and also broke my wrist. I've been unable to look after myself and have come in for respite and rehab. The care has been good and staff have been kind & considerate. They are helping me to keep mobile with the intention of getting home again.

Oakdale was recommended to me for daycare by a work colleague whose mother is a resident.
I cannot fault the staff how they are with the residents and how accommodating the management are in people attending. Oakdale have been a god send to me as I work full time and was unable to leave my mum along during the day. It was never too much trouble to ask at late notice. They always accommodated a space for mum.

Not only are all the staff lovely and kind to the residents they all seem happy amongst themselves and in their job which creates a really good feeling in the home.

I recommend Oakdale more than 100% and wholeheartedly thank them for being so amazing, kind and genuinely caring.

I recently went to a garden fete at Oakdale, and it was great. So well organised, residents and visitors were really looked after. There was a delicious BBQ, all the drinks you wanted. Entertainment, raffles, lucky dip etc., was all good fun. The staff worked so hard - nothing too much trouble, they were on hand to care for all residents - and visitors! Well organised, well done!
