The New Deanery

From day one, when visiting my friend at The New Deanery. I have been made welcome, such a friendly place. Staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. Home is always clean (spotless), fab team of caring carers, hard working group, grounds well maintained. Menu choices is great, have had two booked lunches which were delicious. Hope to have a room here one day when needed.

Thank you so much to all the staff for the excellent refreshments and arranging my father-in-law's little tea party to celebrate his 91st Birthday. He had a lovely afternoon and was overwhelmed that all his family and neighbours came to see him. I would thoroughly recommend The New Deanery to anyone considering residential care for a loved one. In the 3 months that my father-in-law has been there the care has been excellent. The staff are all dedicated, hard-working and caring, and do all they can to make the residents feel at home, we couldn't ask for anything more. The food is excellent too and everyone has said that my father-in-law looks better than he has in years. Thanks once again everyone.

I can see that my friend has thrived since has became a resident at The New Deanery. The staff are very kind and caring and most importantly, they make her feel wanted. She is very happy there. From outings, to activities, to personal care, nothing is too much trouble. It's remarkable to see how my friend has gained strength and weight (she needed to), and confidence over the past year.

Dad hasn't got a bad word to say about the carers, and he says the food is excellent. But unfortunately due to his dementia, he doesn't understand why he needs to be there, but hopefully, in the next few months, he will settle in, and become more involved in activities that are offered.

My three weeks in care were a new experience for me. I was looked after and every care was at my disposal. The staff were absolutely marvellous and were so helpful in everything they did. The food was excellent and anything I fancied was made available. I cannot thank every member of staff enough for their care and devotion.

My mother was a resident at the home from November 2022 until she passed in July this year. From the very beginning the team have been so friendly and caring. It wasn't just the care they provided, the carers and housekeepers also built a friendship with Mum and me and we became part of the Deanery family. The seniors have always been excellent, very professional, caring and well-organised. The food has always been excellent with a flexible, varied menu and excellent chef. The beautiful grounds and outdoor events are a real treat. The activity staff keep residents entertained with a daily schedule, always happy and so friendly. The care at the home really excelled when my mum became poorly, not only did they look after Mum, but they looked after me as well. Their love and emotions when Mum passed were genuine and very moving for my family. The care provided at this difficult time was outstanding. It was lovely having Mum in a care home where we were treated like one of the family.

He's engaging with people again and looking so much like his normal self. The staff are brilliant with them both in their care and social interaction.

As a family collective - we are very happy with our family member's care.

The staff have been so kind and caring towards my nan as well as myself and our family. Nothing is too much and they have gone above and beyond to ensure my nan settles and is happy. The staff treat every resident like there own family and it's truly so comforting to see. We are blessed to have found this home! The activity team are also superb!

The staff at the home have been amazing. From the initial visit, they made my mum and us as a family welcome. They are kind, caring and very knowledgeable. Professional and yet with a warmth. The atmosphere in the home is great. Food is good with lots of alternatives and the activities put so much on. They have done all they can to settle my mum in and she's very happy. Nothing is too much trouble for any staff member. Thank you.

An excellent care home. My mother is treated with kindness, respect and dignity by the most wonderful and caring staff. I can't thank you all enough, my mother is extremely happy and well cared for. Moving here is the best decision we ever made.

This care home is everything you could ask for, excellent in every way. Well-staffed in beautiful surroundings. We were sad when our friend needed to be in a care home but know that she is well looked after by cheerful and helpful staff.

The staff are attentive, there is a good mix of privacy and regular activities. There appears to be a recent focus on improvement, including redecoration. What is less clear is the desire and ability to extend social activities to exercise and external trips. More dialogue on medical issues would be appreciated.

Came on Mother's Day afternoon. Brought a tea of sandwiches, cake and sausage rolls. Used the cafe room which was lovely, very comfortable with welcoming staff. Tea and coffee available.

We came in to have dinner with Mum for Mother's Day. The staff could not do enough for us and served up a nice roast dinner and trifle for dessert. We also played dominos. Mum is very happy here and it makes us very happy that she is well cared for. All of the staff are really lovely.

Mum was found very poorly in the early hours of the morning. Staff rang 999 and an ambulance arrived and she was blue-lighted to hospital, where luckily she has recovered. Very grateful to the staff and their actions. Staff are very friendly and happy to know my mum is looked after.

I am really pleased that my mum is looked after by the New Deanery. Her room is lovely and the quality of care is loving, thoughtful and responsive. I feel the carers and seniors really know my mum as a ‘person ‘ during this difficult phase of her life. As a daughter, I am welcomed, looked after and kept informed in person or by email or telephone. Consistency of staff is important for my mum.

Today was the first time I’ve visited a resident so was unsure where to go, the manager took me to her room but then found she was in a church service downstairs! All staff I came across were extremely friendly and very clear that they loved the job, showing care and compassion to all the residents.

Dad moved just over a year ago from another home. He enjoys this home and had improved in himself and actually looks better and healthier. All members of staff who I have been in contact with have been extremely kind and caring and nothing to too much trouble.
