We could not have been more pleased with the care our father received here. The staff were so attentive and caring. We were kept well informed and made welcome on our frequent visits. We found all the little extra touches of trips, coffee morning, singing and activities all added to the comprehensive
package of care that Dad was lucky to receive. We would highly recommend St Mary's Court to anyone.

My friend has been in two other homes for respite only for a few months each. One was never again, and one was ok, all fair. However, he was put into the Beech Unit and is very comfortable. Everyone is very nice. The place is bright and clean. With his dementia, his care is excellent. I have personally
been helped by the staff to sort out some difficulties with his GP surgery. Nothing was too much trouble. He is happy. I am not sure how long his stay will be, but he is safe.

I cannot thank St Mary's Court Care Home enough. We have now used their facilities a number of times for respite care for my mother-in-law while my husband and I go on holidays (I am her full-time carer). The staff here are absolutely fantastic. There is such positive energy as soon as you walk in.
Everyone is happy, smiling, socialising and upbeat. There are several people to help us get settled in straight away. I love how friendly and kind everyone is. Every time I have picked her up from respite, she is just beaming from ear to ear, super happy, and very well-groomed - hair is clean and brushed, and her nails had been cut (she won't let me cut them, so I am grateful), and she even said her hair had been trimmed! She just fully enjoys her time here, and it's evident every time I pick her up. She also loves the food, which is amazing because she is a very fussy eater at home! They take such good care of her (and all their residents), and I just honestly can't thank them enough.

There is a pleasant atmosphere and the staff are very willing to please, a little more training in some areas would be valuable. There is a choice of food, the quality good, but it could be served hotter. Activities are encouraged, social gatherings for coffee in the morning is good for interaction
od resident and walks in the grounds are appreciated in the better weather.

Since my husband became a resident in the care home, my son and I have been overwhelmed by the love, care and attention her has received. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff in whatever capacity, and they are always there to help and advise us. Initially, we both wondered if we had done the right
thing by putting him into care, but our concerns and worries were soon eased, thank you.

St Mary's Court Care Home has done a marvellous job with my dad over the past two years. He was very unwell when he first went to live there as he was in the late stages of Alzheimer's, and his behaviour was challenging. The staff have shown him great understanding, patience and empathy, and their focus
has been and continues to be maintaining his dignity. The food is also excellent, as are the activities and entertainment, and I highly recommend the establishment.

Warm, clean room but needs a little more furniture/surface etc, for pictures, flowers etc, and please do not use it as a store! Staff very good, nice and friendly, always smiling. Nurses very helpful in phone re, updates on Mum. One lady nice and welcoming, another a great asset and very helpful, admin
worked well and customer-focused. All in all, first-class, keep it up.

My dad went into St Mary's Court for palliative care. The care he received and the support that my sisters and I had from the amazing staff could not have been any better. It is such a friendly and welcoming place, and we will always be grateful that our wonderful dad went there.

A very well organised and managed visit, accounting for Covid restrictions. Met on arrival to enable a quick induction and sign-in process. Well-appointed visiting room with resident already waiting on arrival; friendly staff enhanced the visit, helping provide some group engagement from which the resident
benefitted.

My mother recently moved to here from another care home. We saw an immediate positive change in her from day one. She has a number of medical issues and the home have managed them faultlessly from the minute she arrived. The care staff are amazing, professional, caring and patient. My mother says the
staff make her feel special and nothing is too much trouble for them. The home itself is bright and cheery and there is a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The grounds and outside areas are lovely too. The home puts on lots of activities and trips out for the residents and the care staff interact so well with the residents, you can see they genuinely care about them. Our experience of this care home is extremely positive.

My mother (aged 92) has been in care at St. Marys Court for 4 years suffering from dementia. Her care has been excellent given that she has continued deteriorating and has required a high level of support. I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough, their patience, kindness and affection is exemplary.
The home is well run, spotlessly clean and always welcoming. She is happy and content, whilst receiving the best care possible.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.748)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.748) out of 10 for St Mary's Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.748 for St Mary's Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (254 Excellents x 5) + (69 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 330 Ratings = 4.748
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Mary's Court Care Home is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
