My father has become more settled, putting on weight and content with his surroundings. He needs a lot of care due to a stoma bag, which they are able to deal with, leaving him a lot less anxious.

It's wonderful to know he's gaining weight and feeling less anxious-that's exactly the kind of peace and comfort we strive to provide. My mum has been a resident for 18months now and overall we are very happy with the level of care she receives .The carers and office staff are always helpful with their knowledge regarding dementia and have got us through some challenging times .As a regular weekly/almost daily visiter they are always
welcoming and nothing is too much trouble if you need help with your loved ones .They have lots of entertainment for the residents as well as family days where all the family can join in .The home has a great feel to it and everyone is treated with the upmost respect .Many of the staff have been there along time so you can get to know them properly , there doesn't .appear to be a big turnover of staff which speaks volumes .The main thing is my mum says she is happy and staff are lovely and she feels safe and cared for which is very reassuring for us as a family .It is very well run by the management team who go above and beyond for the safety of the residence .
Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're thrilled to hear that your mum has had such a positive experience with us over the past 18 months. It's wonderful to know that our carers and staff have been able to support both your mum and your family through the challenges, and that you feel welcome every time you visit. We truly value building strong relationships with both residents and their families, and it's fantastic to hear that the consistency of our staff and the range of activities and entertainment have made a positive impact. We are so glad that your mum feels safe, cared for, and happy, as that is our top priority. Your feedback means the world to us, and we'll continue to do everything we can to provide the best care possible for all of our residents. Thank you again for trusting us with your mum's care-it's a pleasure to have her as part of our family.

The home is always very friendly and welcoming and the staff caring and helpful to deal with. Communication with ourselves is done striking a good balance between keeping relatives informed where necessary but not so often as to cause alarm or worry.
I've often said of the staff there that often have
work in challenging circumstances that they earn and deserve every penny of their salaries.

Having visited several care homes recently, Weald Hall is up there with the best.
It is always clean and tidy and no unpleasant smells. There is a good staff to resident ratio. Activities are varied, trips out are arranged to local facilities for residents that wish to partake.
Well cared for grounds
enable residents to be active & enjoy the fresh air when weather permits.

Dad has recently moved to Weald Care Home. And before Dad even moved in we felt part of their family. So supportive and caring to Dad and us. Extremely professional and have a wealth of knowledge of dementia care. Although my dad is fairly poorly I know his in safe hands. Dad lives with his illness
at weald care home. He is no longer dying from his illness in care. And when his time comes I feel comforted in the fact he will be surrounded by us and the love and care at weald Hall. They continue think outside of the box to meet Dad's care needs.
Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are truly honored that your family has chosen Weald Hall Care Home for your dad's care. Due to the full care my father needs I can not fault what they do for him at the home .He has his own privacy but is always checked on if something is out of normal routine.
Even today he normally has his door always open but I was just helping him and straight away there was a knock at the door and
a voice asking "is everything OK " and a head popped round just to make sure dad was OK.
Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're so glad to hear that your father's care is meeting your expectations, and that you feel confident in the attention he receives. It's wonderful that he has the privacy he needs while still being looked after and monitored with such care. We truly believe in creating a balance between independence and safety, and we're happy to know that the staff's attentiveness, like the check-ins you mentioned, provide you with peace of mind. Your feedback means a lot to us, and we're grateful for the trust you've placed in us to care for your father.

We have been looking for a care home for my mum for some time and nowhere we have seen comes close to Weald Hall. Mum has dementia and Dad has cancer so he is finding it extremely difficult to care for her. Mum is completely dependent on him and only ever happy if she is with him. That was until we
took her to Weald Hall. As soon as Mum arrived she was relaxed and settled immediately. The manager and her wonderful team took time to get to know about Mum before meeting her to ensure a personal connection straight away. It didn't take long before Mum was dancing to ABBA and eating delicious food she would refuse if we offered it to her!
Something that really made all the difference to us, was the care and consideration also given to Dad during such a difficult time.
Weald Hall really is home from home and I can't recommend it enough.
Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. We're truly touched by your kind words. It's wonderful to hear that your mum has settled in so well and found comfort at Weald Hall, especially given the challenges you've described. Our team works hard to build personal connections with each resident, and we're so glad that this approach has helped your mum feel at ease. It's also incredibly rewarding to hear that the care and consideration extended to your dad during such a tough time made a difference for both of you. We're honoured to be able to offer a place where you feel your family is well supported. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we'll continue to do everything we can to provide the best possible care. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care!

I have selected this review to cover February as this is the month that my wonderful mum came to the end of her journey with dementia, but my words pertain to every single day of her residency.

When it was realised that mum had a very short time left, the amazing management permitted us to be with

her around the clock, with a staff member taking our place to sit with mum for the few hours we were not able to be there. Every single member of staff checked on us constantly, offering drinks, food & support on tap.

Mum was treated with nothing but absolute care, compassion & dignity - nothing & I mean NOTHING was too much trouble from her first day to her last.
There are no words to describe how we, as a family feel about the incredible people that take care of the residents here. They work tirelessly to make each day memorable & strive always to make that happen. They truly are Angels in human form.

Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and emotional review. We are truly honored that you entrusted us with your mum's care during such a difficult time. It's humbling to hear that our team was able to offer the support, care, and compassion that you and your family needed, especially in those final moments. Our priority has always been to provide every resident with dignity and respect, and we are so grateful that your mum felt this during her time with us. Your words mean the world to us, and we are touched by your recognition of the dedication our staff shows every day. Please know that we are here for you, and we will always remember your mum and the special bond she shared with us. Thank you again for your trust and for allowing us to be part of your mum's journey.

We were looking for urgent support after my mum was discharged from hospital but was still in no condition to look after herself in her own home. The home manager and the team at Weald Hall could not have been more helpful and welcoming, and as a family we all agreed that this care home was the right
place for our mum to receive the care she needed. We found the home, extremely clean and comfortable, with all the staff friendly and approachable, and we believe this is the right place for our mum to stay, for however long she wants to be a resident.

Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to see the home which looked very nice and the old meteor jet was a great addition. The lady on reception was very friendly and helped me to sign in. Another member of staff who was also pleasant and friendly took me to my uncle's room and then to the garden where
my uncle and I spent a very nice afternoon watching the aeroplanes taking off. The lady staff member offered us refreshments and spoke about the history of the home which was very interesting. It was also nice to see the children interacting with the residents.
Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. Our meteor jet was added to the home due to resident interest in the airfield which our garden overlooks, so we thought we should have something special for all to enjoy ourselves! We welcome visitors of all ages and frequently have the local schools visit our residents in addition to family and friends visiting throughout the week.

My mum was in Wealdhall from January 2020 with dementia, she received excellent care all the time she was there. The staff were kind, caring and loving towards Mum and I had a good relationship with them, Mum sadly passed away 17th June 2024 and the end-of-life care she had was 2nd to none from all
of the care home staff that would be with her to comfort her, to encourage her to eat and drink in the early stages, the visiting district nurses/matron and the paramedics, cannot fault any of them and I would recommend this home for your loved one.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.929 for Weald Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (587 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 631 Ratings = 4.929
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Weald Hall Care Home is based on 53 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 39 registered maximum number of service users is 7.8, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
