There is a very calm, welcoming atmosphere; I have been very impressed with the manager's kindness, knowledge and warmth and feel that Mum will be well cared for.
I have struggled to cope for some time but have been unwilling to let go. Having such a wonderfully decorated home, which doesn't look like the average care home, I am sure makes the transition easier for my mum and myself.
Her condition has made her fearful/agitated, I wouldn't let her go unless I felt assured that her needs could be met.
I believe this home with a manager who truly cares, goes above and beyond and knows her residents make all the difference. I will finally have some peace of mind.
I am, for the 1st time, excited about Mum getting the right care, with a detailed care plan being put in place. This has not been the case previously; I think I have found a really outstanding care home.
I spent some time with my nan in the living area and dining room for supper. Staff were very welcoming, made me feel comfortable and attentive to all. For my first impressions, I was happy with the setting for my nan. The home is clean, well decored with a homely and warm feel.
My nan was happy, in good spirits and seemed comfortable. On my second visit, I spent some time in her private room which again is clean and comfy. I spoke with another manager who asked some questions about my nan and wanted to get to know her better and what would be good for her on a personal level.
So far, I am happy with the care my nan is being given and believe the staff have her best interests at heart.
My mother suffers with Alzheimer's and leaving her home of over 50 years could have been very challenging. She settled in right away and is happy there. There is always an activity going on to fill the day and trips out are often organized.
The recent building upgrade is a huge plus and the communal areas resemble more a hotel than a nursing home.
My mum recently moved in after a difficult time in hospital and the staff at Weald Hall have really made a fuss of her and made her feel very welcome. There seems to be plenty of activities and outings and always a positive atmosphere. The new owner has clearly made a significant investment in the facilities, with much to look forward to in the outside areas during the warmer months. Really pleased with how it’s going so far, thanks to all involved.
Having just visited my mother at Weald Hall, l found her dressed, clean and tidy and with a cup of tea and biscuits by her side. I ask the staff how mum has been and a full explanation was given, they were pleased to tell me how much she loved her recent shopping trip.
The improvements at the home are very impressive and the finish is to a high standard. To conclude, l am extremely pleased with the care my mother is receiving, l am very impressed with the staff, from the manager to the care nurses and l am reserving a room there on my retirement.
Many thanks
All the staff are very friendly and care extremely well for my father. The care home does lots of activities to keep everyone stimulated. His medication and hospital appointments are always taken care of and I am updated on any changes. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Thanks for all you do for him.
My father was there for two years and although the home has gone through some difficult times recently with a major refurbishment project, the level of care has been wonderful, especially in the last few weeks of his life.
The manager has not been there long but is very much a hands-on care manager and doesn’t lock herself away in her office just dealing with paperwork.
She has shown care and kindness to all my family at a difficult time for us and attended my father's funeral with two key members of staff, the deputy manager and the home's administrator.
Danielle and her team continue to look after my Mother and I don’t believe she could receive better care at any other residential care home.
The home is now coming to the end of its refurbishment and I would definitely recommend the home to anyone who needs a care home for their loved ones.
My friend moved here in February last year. First opinions were very low, as the home was very shabby. However, the staff were amazing, and after a few visits, I realized that it was only cosmetic appearance that let the place down definitely not the staff. In the past few months, it has been taken over, and an awful lot of money has been spent on it. Now it looks like a top-class hotel, and with the combination of the staff there, I would highly recommend this home to anybody. Well done, Weald Hall staff and management.
My mum has been in Weald Hall Care Home for six years, during this time she has been shown respect and kindness by all staff. Her dignity has also been considered all time. The activity staff have provided plenty of entertainment games and are always cheerful. There has been lots of improvements to the home which has been done with consideration and thought.
I have no words to describe this care home. Apart from one or two people that actually work there, nothing is dealt with appropriately or sufficiently. My poor Nan could have been waiting up to or more than 10-minutes just for a carer to come to her room and attend to her. What if she had fallen and was left lying on the floor? It is absolutely appalling. You will use the lift once there and then you get told that it is then out of service the next. I know you can't use a lift in a fire but how do you propose to get all the residents down from the second floor? It's something that really needs to be looked at, and quickly. It is a massive red flag. The attitude of the staff was careless and rude and they think they know it all. I'm afraid that isn't the case. They would much rather be sat on their phones and ignoring those who need help. They left my Nan in a boiling hot room for 2-days because something had broken. Not good enough. Why should she suffer because of it? Do not recommend.
I required emergency support and advice in regards to care for my mother after constant failed contact with social care. The home staff were so helpful, professional and provided the support I required and my mother is well cared for in a safe environment with all the care required in place. I was able to relax for the first time in ages and highly recommend this residence and the staff.
He is always clean and tidy in himself and enjoys all meals that are put in front of him, his room is lovely and he has a lovely view from his window. This has made my life so much much more bearable being without him. Thank you to all the staff from the bottom of my heart.
decision in my paperwork. Staff immediately saw this as fraudulent. Invited back after Covid as a volunteer, I must relate our experience while there. One resident past stage-3 dementia and on end of life care was fed by a member of staff, then the staff member brushed her hair back and touched foreheads together for several minutes. This was a member of staff pouring out unconditional love to a resident who frequently fights staff using a hoist, and if you let her hold your hand, she will either kiss your hand or severely bite you. She has her own teeth. Having fostered several abused children, this sight had me in tears.
Weald Hall is a homely, happy place for Mum to live. There is a friendly atmosphere. The lack of rigid rules means the care can be geared to each resident's personality and needs. I am greeted on arrival and Mum is welcomed back after we have been out. Mum is always telling me how lovely the staff are.
Mum being happy and cared for at Weald Hall is not only great for her it also has such a positive impact on her whole family.
Let this card remind you all that you are all special, through and through and thought of so warmly and so often too. You were helpful and supportive in a way that warms the heart, whatever happened you were all there to play your thoughtful part. Thank you for your kindness which can never be repaid and thank you for your understanding and the difference that it made.
Thank you all so much for your care.
My grandad is the happiest he has been in a very long time. He is very well looked after. Staff are fantastic, so friendly and caring. Always have a warm welcome on entering the home. Thank you Wealdhall Residential Home.
Extremely professional and very friendly staff. My father settled in very quickly and is pleased to be staying there. Well done Weald Hall and thank you.
The staff are fabulous and have made the hall a home for my father-in-law who now loves being there. The grounds are lovely and the hall is very well kept.
My mum went into Wealdhall Residental Home in November 2017 quite suddenly. I have only ever experienced expert care and quality service from the staff and management at Wealdhall. Everyone is friendly; always has a cheeky smile and tells me what my Mum has been up to on every visit. I particularly enjoy the regular contact on social media i.e. Facebook and my Mum is very settled and happy at Wealdhall. I feel so fortunate to have been able to secure my Mum a place here and regularly see the staff so above and beyond to keep my Mum, my family and I happy.
My father lived at Wealdhall for eleven months until he died in March 2018. The all-round care he received was excellent. I cannot fault the staff in any aspect. They all worked very hard to ensure he was happy, content and clean. His eating had improved and he had put on weight due to the well prepared and nutritious food that is cooked at the home. After a week in hospital, he required end of life care which the home provided, allowing him to die with dignity. Whilst my father was living at Wealed Hall I know he was safe and secure and very well cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wealdhall for anyone.

Daisy is an 11-year-old community champion who has been visiting The Anchorage care home since she was a toddler. A few years ago, she created Through the Eyes of a Child, a heartfelt initiative designed to capture children’s honest reflections on their experiences of visiting the care home, helping staff and residents see the environment through a child’s perspective.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections. Daisy encourages children from local schools to visit the home, building friendships with residents and taking part in activities, events, and outings. She has also developed feedback forms to ensure children’s voices are heard and valued.
Over the past year, Daisy’s compassion and dedication have been widely recognised. She has received a Champions of Care Special Recognition Award from Person Centred Software, the Community Cup from her school for her empathy and service, and the Saxon Weald Local Community Youth Winner Award for her outstanding contribution to the care home and wider community. Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
