Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to see the home which looked very nice and the old meteor jet was a great addition. The lady on reception was very friendly and helped me to sign in. Another member of staff who was also pleasant and friendly took me to my uncle's room and then to the garden where my uncle and I spent a very nice afternoon watching the aeroplanes taking off. The lady staff member offered us refreshments and spoke about the history of the home which was very interesting. It was also nice to see the children interacting with the residents.

Reply from Alice Ledwith, Customer Relations Manager at Weald Hall Care Home

Thank you for your lovely review. Our meteor jet was added to the home due to resident interest in the airfield which our garden overlooks, so we thought we should have something special for all to enjoy ourselves! We welcome visitors of all ages and frequently have the local schools visit our residents in addition to family and friends visiting throughout the week.

My mum was in Wealdhall from January 2020 with dementia, she received excellent care all the time she was there. The staff were kind, caring and loving towards Mum and I had a good relationship with them, Mum sadly passed away 17th June 2024 and the end-of-life care she had was 2nd to none from all of the care home staff that would be with her to comfort her, to encourage her to eat and drink in the early stages, the visiting district nurses/matron and the paramedics, cannot fault any of them and I would recommend this home for your loved one.

I want to express my sincere thanks to all the staff at Weald Hall Care Home for looking after my mother so well. She has been treated with kindness, compassion and respect. It is lovely seeing Mum participating in activities in which staff encourage her, she's been making cakes, playing bingo and using the interactive board. She enjoys music and singing and particularly enjoyed the cockney evening because she knew all the old songs. Weald Hall has a friendly atmosphere and I always feel welcome whenever I visit.

I would highly recommend this care home to any senior citizen who isn’t able to have care at their own home, the staff are very friendly and caring they interact with the residents on all levels. You instantly feel at home when you visit the care home the residents are cared for as if they were family of all the staff. The staff always celebrate every occasion i.e. Valentine’s Day, Easter, birthdays, and even have a tea and coffee morning for residents and visitors. My father has been living at Weald hall for the past 13 months now and I’m so grateful and thankful to all the staff for the amazing care and love that they show to each and every resident, I’m so grateful and thankful for the love and care that all the staff has shown towards my father. The staff at Weald Hall Care Home are the best. They are kind, attentive, friendly and so accommodating. The home is clean, fresh and a pleasure to not only visit but to know your family member is in such a warm and caring environment. They have definitely committed to ensuring it’s a home away from home. Activities are thoughtfully arranged and nothing is too much trouble. It’s never easy searching for that special place that you want your loved one to be cared for in but I can wholeheartedly say Weald Hall does it all and more. The manager and head of care should be proud of their home and team who are a real credit. Thank you all so much.

I'm happy she's at this home, it's a nice home, pleasant to look at and even the gardens are lovely. It's decorated for different occasions (i.e. National colours of Greece with flags for Greek night). The staff seem to enjoy their work and are friendly to residents and visitors. I really wish my mum could have gone to this home.

My Father has recently moved into Weald Hall, under challenging circumstances. The continual support of the home manager has been greatly appreciated. The quality of this care home goes beyond the outstanding well-considered fresh and clean facilities to the genuine welcoming, warm and loving atmosphere. The home’s vision and ethos are truly lived-out. Staff are highly responsive to the needs of residents and their families.

Health Care Plans are kept up-to-date and advice is sought from healthcare specialists. The uniqueness of each individual is celebrated and there is a strong sense of community. A wide range of opportunities are arranged to enable residents to continue their interests, socialise and feel valued.

Having experienced another home and visited many, it is without hesitation that I would recommend Weald Hall.

We have recently moved mum here, the best care home I have seen for miles and I must say we visited a lot! The care and attention they have given to mum already is amazing. Mum is an avid football fan and she has already been taken out to watch a game. I cannot give this place more praise I just wish I could give it a higher star rating, thank you to everyone who has made mum so welcome and especially to the care home manager it doesn’t feel like a care home it feels like mums home with an extended family.

We looked at a number of care homes in the area before deciding on Weald Hall for my stepfather. We were impressed by the open and bright aspect of the well-maintained building, the rural aspect, and good views. The staff appeared friendly and committed to providing the best care they could. Our initial impressions were confirmed when my stepfather moved in and during his stay nothing was too much trouble which helped to make him and his family feel very welcome. The care plan that was created for him was detailed and each member of staff took the time to get to know him. The majority of staff that we met had worked at Weald Hall for many years and came across as really wanting to care for their residents and do the best they possibly could. The management team knew each resident by name and were very involved with their care too, going above and beyond which created a great atmosphere and camaraderie across all staff and residents.

My mum has Parkinson's dementia and has steadily been in declining health. My siblings and I visited about eight care homes for our mum, ready for the time she may need extra help. Weald Hall stood out as one of two excellent ones we saw. So when some months later we needed to organise respite care for Mum, to give my dad a break, we knew who to speak to. The manager was so welcoming and helpful and we immediately warmed to her and her caring attitude towards her residents. She made us feel very confident that Mum would be safe and well looked after during her two weeks of respite care. The manager and her team didn't let us down. During the two weeks, we were kept informed of how she was coping and we were sent some photos and videos of the activities she took part in. They helped us with trying to get a medication review, which was something I was struggling with, spoke to doctors and community nurses on our behalf. I would certainly recommend Weald Hall.

My parents visited for respite care whilst I was on holiday. Due to my parents frailty I needed to be confident they would be safe and well looked after.
I visited Weald Hall Care Home to chat to the manager and the team and she showed me the double room that my parents would stay in. A newly refurbished room to a very high standard. We then toured the home where I was shown the dining room, day room and cinema room.
Mum and dad also visited prior to their stay to meet the team and to see their room. The manager took time to ask them lots of questions as to their likes/dislikes and preferences.
When I took mum and dad to the home, the manager welcomed them with a bunch of flowers. They settled in and went to lunch.
I was safe in the knowledge my parents were well looked after.
When I spoke to mum she said all the team were friendly and chatty and always happy to help.
When they came home they both said they would be happy to go back to Weald Hall should the need arise.

Thanks to all at Weald Hall.

Pleasantly situated in a quiet part of Thornwood/North Weald with a spacious garden, the home is run and staffed by a friendly, caring team who bend over backwards to ensure that the residents are able to enjoy security and still be able to get involved in shopping expeditions and trips out (escorted). The food is nutritious and tasty and the chef comes around to check individual needs. There is a general ambiance of friendliness and camaraderie with the staff and residents and nothing is too much trouble! A good team and a well-run home.

My father has been at Weald Hall for just over a year; he has adjusted very well and enjoys living here. The staff are all lovely and genuinely care; you can see how passionate they are about making all residents feel comfortable. There have been a lot of changes since Dad first arrived and new owners took over, it is all very positive, and the home is looking amazing; the priority here is definitely the residents and making their stay as pleasant as possible. I feel confident in my Dad's care at Weald Hall and that he is happy and safe.

Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
