"Staff are very kind and caring and know people's needs well. I would one hundred per cent recommend this home to others and cannot fault the care provided," is just one of the positive comments, a CQC inspector heard when inspecting the home in April 2016.

Wensley House is located in a secluded forest surrounding, a stone’s throw from the charming town centre of Epping.

Proud to be one of the top 20 Care Homes in 2015 on carehome.co.uk for the entire region and for receiving an award in the Prosper Awards ceremony in June 2016 for their 'Culture', Wensley House ensures it offers a beautiful home for their residents.

All rooms are fitted with en-suite facilities (a number also have en-suite wet rooms) and newly updated nurse call systems, and an addressable fire alarm (pinpoints the location exactly), and residents are encouraged to personalise rooms, though all rooms come fully decorated with tasteful arrangements if preferred.

Be it the Oak Room, with deep and colour-rich walls where they receive entertainers, watch movies or hold services, the garden room, fitted with patio doors at each end to open throughout the summer, the conservatory/window room to watch the outdoors, find some solitude or even the dining room adjacent to the newly fitted kitchen to receive a choice of meals, freshly prepared on the premises, awarded the top five star food hygiene rating, there is always a place for you to be comfortable.

Wensley's best quality is their staff, who care about everything that they do and form close bonds with the residents. All of their staff go through stringent checks before joining and start on a review period in which they receive excellent training (City & Guilds Accredited) in conjunction with workshops with industry experts.

Wensley House support their team with CCTV, being proud of what they do and believe that transparency builds trust, and trust builds relationships.

    The Average Rating of 4.742 for Wensley House is calculated as follows: ( (92 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.742

Mum came to the home in March. It appears her needs are being met. The home is always very clean. My mum has said she enjoys the food and there is enough.

One concern we have is that on our visits, there doesn't seem to be many activities going on and Mum expresses that she is bored.

We find the staff here very obliging and very friendly, always helpful and will do anything. Nothing is too hard. They always offer tea or coffee or juice to relatives who are visiting. The owner is a lovely man, always helpful and willing to answer questions, likewise, staff. They allow visiting time any time for as long as you like apart from midday meal times. They don't push you out, and security is very very good and secure. Lovely grounds, well kept and very clean environment, Glad we chose this residential home.

My brother has been here since September 2016. He is well cared for and his room is bright, clean and friendly. The staff are caring and sweet, I feel that my brother is safe and in good hands. I visit him five days out of seven. I do not have anything other than praise for Wensley House, the owne4 and all who help run it.

I cannot praise the staff and owner of Wensley House enough for their care, compassion, manners and professionalism which I witnessed when I went to visit my good friend when he was a resident here. Sadly, my friend has now passed away but I felt I had to write this review because, as a nurse by profession myself, I was so impressed with their level of care and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart because I never worried about my friend being in their care.

Finding a suitable care home is an absolute nightmare........the nightmare ended when I found Wensley House. As soon as I made the phone call I knew I would be welcomed.

My mother was not an easy resident to look after due to her being so unhappy at losing her independence but all the staff at Wensley were so encouraging and welcoming despite her constant irritability. We were welcomed also as a family and I actually enjoyed seeing the staff each time I visited and knew mum was being well cared for. There were occasions whereby staff did not know I had arrived and I could hear them talking to mum in a caring manner and never once lost their patience.

Unfortunately, mum passed away on 11th November and was never able to fully appreciate the care and attention she was given at Wensley but we as a family could not fault any aspect of the care from all the staff.

I would highly recommend Wensley House and hope it is still going strong if and when I need care. Thank you, everyone!!

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who treat the residents. They are caring, respectful and treat the residents as one of their own family. My mum was very happy there and I have nothing but praise for the staff.

Finding a 'caring home' for my mother, when my father passed away after 67 years years of marriage, was a daunting and sad time. After visiting numerous care homes, the task of finding a 'home from home' environment seemed an impossible task. However, Wensley House, has achieved what we thought to be the impossible. This home is outstanding ! Read all the reports, but please, take the time to visit Wensley House, you will not be disappointed. The management and all the staff, show such dedication and a caring and loving understanding of their residents needs. This is a 'Happy Home' and offers a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all the residents.
