I have found Wensley House to be a well-run care home with good management. The staff are friendly, helpful and aware of residents and relatives needs. Accommodation is comfortable and clean. Meals are varied and to a high standard. Residents personal care is excellent. I think Wensley House is a good place for my relative to be living, my mum is happy, safe and cared for.

Mum came to the home in March. It appears her needs are being met. The home is always very clean. My mum has said she enjoys the food and there is enough.

One concern we have is that on our visits, there doesn't seem to be many activities going on and Mum expresses that she is bored.

We find the staff here very obliging and very friendly, always helpful and will do anything. Nothing is too hard. They always offer tea or coffee or juice to relatives who are visiting. The owner is a lovely man, always helpful and willing to answer questions, likewise, staff. They allow visiting time any time for as long as you like apart from midday meal times. They don't push you out, and security is very very good and secure. Lovely grounds, well kept and very clean environment, Glad we chose this residential home.

I cannot praise the staff and owner of Wensley House enough for their care, compassion, manners and professionalism which I witnessed when I went to visit my good friend when he was a resident here. Sadly, my friend has now passed away but I felt I had to write this review because, as a nurse by profession myself, I was so impressed with their level of care and I thank them all from the bottom of my heart because I never worried about my friend being in their care.

Finding a suitable care home is an absolute nightmare........the nightmare ended when I found Wensley House. As soon as I made the phone call I knew I would be welcomed.

My mother was not an easy resident to look after due to her being so unhappy at losing her independence but all the staff at Wensley were so encouraging and welcoming despite her constant irritability. We were welcomed also as a family and I actually enjoyed seeing the staff each time I visited and knew mum was being well cared for. There were occasions whereby staff did not know I had arrived and I could hear them talking to mum in a caring manner and never once lost their patience.

Unfortunately, mum passed away on 11th November and was never able to fully appreciate the care and attention she was given at Wensley but we as a family could not fault any aspect of the care from all the staff.

I would highly recommend Wensley House and hope it is still going strong if and when I need care. Thank you, everyone!!

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who treat the residents. They are caring, respectful and treat the residents as one of their own family. My mum was very happy there and I have nothing but praise for the staff.

Overall Experience

Finding a 'caring home' for my mother, when my father passed away after 67 years years of marriage, was a daunting and sad time. After visiting numerous care homes, the task of finding a 'home from home' environment seemed an impossible task. However, Wensley House, has achieved what we thought to be the impossible. This home is outstanding ! Read all the reports, but please, take the time to visit Wensley House, you will not be disappointed. The management and all the staff, show such dedication and a caring and loving understanding of their residents needs. This is a 'Happy Home' and offers a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all the residents.
