The care that my mother received was exceptional. I cannot rate this care home highly enough. The staff were so good with mum and very patient. The manager was extremely kind and always kept me up to date with how mum was. I would also like to praise the owner who was really sympathetic and very helpful. I only wish mum had enjoyed more time there.

Reply from Patrick Beling, Director at Wensley House

Many thanks for your review. The Manager and Staff are, to use your comment, exceptional and would appreciate your review. I too wish your Mum spent more time with us so that I could have met her. I understand she was very witty and also loved singing with one of her favourite songs being "We're busy doing nothing" by Bing Crosby. Hopefully, I will have an opportunity to meet you in the future.

I visited Wensley House in Jan 2020 and met with the manager and staff. I also had an opportunity to inspect the property.
The staff at Wensley House are fantastic, especially as I live in Australia, they maintain excellent communications and keep me up to date on any situation with regular updates.
The nursing home is very clean, the staff are excellent, very friendly with residents and very accommodating to their needs.
The activities are restricted to the nursing home but everyone seemed happy to join in and participate. I know Wensley House has looked at many different ways to keep the residents entertained.
The management are extremely friendly and have helped me immensely with our difficult situation of distance.
My mother is happy, in good health, well feed, well looked after in a clean and safe environment. Wensley House is well maintained, warm in winter and has flourishing gardens for residents in the summer.

I am very reassured that Mum is in an excellent location.

I visit my mother once or twice a week and have been doing so for the last three years. I have full confidence in the staff and management to continue to look after my mother.

It is a pleasure looking after your mother over the last three years. It is also lovely when you visit along with your beautiful Boxer Dog, Winny who has become a friend to all our Residents and enjoy her presence.

We, as a family, could not have had better care for our Mum. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity. The manager and cook were amazing, taking such good care of her, as were the staff.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Though we are a Residential Care Home, we have four staff including the Manager who trained as General Nurses in Romania and know their job and it is privilege to work with them and the Care provided is exceptional.

When my mother first came to Wensley House we had issues, but the management listened to us and acted upon them to our satisfaction, and now I have only good things to say about Wensley House. 10 out of 10.

My step mum has lived in three other care homes in the area, since my dad passed away in 2010.
She would not settle in the other three, this is the one where she feels cared for and settled to date.

The home is always welcoming and a high standard of care seen carried out, very pleased with the owner and how he runs the home.

The staff will be pleased that you and your family appreciate them and the work that they do.

This is a wonderful care home and believe me I’ve visited a lot. It’s certainly the best in the area in my opinion. It is clean, well presented and safe. Staff are amazing. They are kind and caring and all have a good sense of humour. They treat residents with dignity and respect. Residents are well looked after and very well fed. We take my father out regularly but he often doesn’t want to leave as the food is so good. The eating area is very pleasant as is the conservatory area where residents are treated to hair treatments. The only downside that I can see is the lack of time outside. However, I can understand this, as older people don’t cope well in the heat or the cold so finding the balance is difficult. The owner is present a lot and clearly genuinely cares. I strongly recommend this home.

I can only recommend Wensley House exceptionally. All the staff are warm, friendly and know all the residents so well. The facilities offer a "home from home" experience that is comfortable, excellent food and care. The residents are kept entertained with activities and one to one 'chats'. Wensley is fantastic value for money and my Mum relaxed and loved her time there. The bedrooms are a good size, airy and always clean, as are the day rooms. This privately-run home offers so much more. Well run, well priced and highly recommended.

Wensley House is a very well run residence. Their best asset is their staff who we found to be faultless in their attention and care given to my father who I felt was extremely well looked after at all time.

Their assistance and concern was greatly appreciated by myself during a very difficult time.
