My experience with Beech Tree has been very positive from the initial visit to present day. The facility is bright and cheerful and staff are friendly and caring, with genuine warmth shown towards residents. The activities programme is packed and varied - Dad enjoyed the alpaca visit and I stayed for
the birds even though Dad was in bed sleeping!
I don't get to visit as often as I would like due to distance so tend to pop my head into the office to get a fuller picture of how Dad is doing. I am always made to feel welcome and never rushed as they provide more context about Dad's day-to-day life in the home and what activities he engages with. I don't know how many times a day they do this for relatives of other residents but they are endlessly patient and seem to really know Dad and his needs and preferences which is a huge comfort to me. I would recommend Beech Tree without hesitation. Big thank you to all the staff.

When looking at the home, I met the care home manager, she showed me around the home, talked me through a usual day for residents, food and menus and also the activities planned. She was patient with all my questions and watching the interactions between staff and residents, I knew Pops would be safe
and well cared for here. We were able to choose a room from the two available and to personalise it to help transition him in.
Pops settled in straight away, his quality of life has improved significantly, he is out of bed every day and there are activities, morning and afternoon, that he joins in with, he loves the singers and dancers that come in. All of the staff are so kind and take great care of him with dignity but they also take the time to check how we are too. There is always someone available for any questions or concerns or discuss anything at all to do with his care.
Making the decision to move him was hard but we couldn’t be happier and would recommend Beech Tree without hesitation.

From the first day of visiting the care home, the service, friendliness and care have been excellent. My father has been looked after by carers to a very high standard. The home staff have excellent dementia-friendly experience and they are patient at difficult times my father has. They are very supportive
to my mother when she is finding times hard with my father being in a home after sixty-three years of marriage.
Thank you for being outstanding.

My Nan has been at Beech Tree for a while now and although initially reluctant to go into care she has adapted to her new home. The home provides a good level of care, meals, and entertainment. Nan does seem to be genuinely happy there.

I have found Beech Tree to be a friendly, welcoming environment. The staff and manager are very approachable and understanding of people's needs.
The care and support that my friend receives is excellent.
The home is always clean and all of the staff make time to talk and are visible. I would not

My wife was transferred to this home from the hospital because I was not well enough to be her sole carer. The staff are kind and caring to residents and to their relatives. I have had several visits to my wife that have been emotionally difficult for me but staff have provided support to me as well.
I visit frequently, 4-5 times each week, and there are no restrictions on visiting times. Her care is collaborative: carers, nurses and management are readily available to approach and listen to requests or suggestions about their residents. Managers hold meetings for residents to which relatives are invited and where plans and developments are described and comments from residents and relatives listened to. Relatives and friends may only be present for a limited number of hours each day or week, but my contact with other residents confirms their satisfied observations about the services. I recommend this home.

My mum had a two-week stay in July/August while I was away. We live over 30 minutes away from the care home, but my mum wanted to go back to Beech Tree because of the friendly feeling as the staff make it felt like an extended family. The care she received was first class and helped her with anything
that she needed. The entertainment and advents are always fun for residents and their families. Big thanks to all the carer/entertainers/cleaner/office staff/cooks etc. for what they have done and will carry on doing for her when needed in the future.

My mum reached 85 in December. Staff went out of their way to help us arrange a surprise birthday party in the care home Lounge. The lounge is clean, bright and airy. We served tea and cakes and had a lovely few hours with all generations of our family. Mum had a lovely time.
I cannot speak highly
enough of the support and care that both of my parents receive at Beech Tree. The manager's door is always open which is a great comfort to us. We consider ourselves very fortunate that our parents can continue to live in the village where they have been for over 50 years. Keep up the good work - we appreciate you!

My wife and I visited Mum on Tues 28th Nov. It gave us great joy to see Mum smiling and in conversation with several other residents. She spoke highly of the support she receives from the care team, whether by day or night. We spent an hour together in the lounge. This communal facility is furnished
to a high standard with separate areas being created by the clever use of bookshelves. It was clean and tidy. Toilet facilities for visitors were also maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Beech Tree team keep up the good work.

I have the utmost praise for the care and compassion my relative received during her long stay. The kindness and gentleness were outstanding and her dignity maintained at all times by every member of staff. I was afforded the same kindness and was kept informed at all times. I was able to relax knowing
that she was safe. I cannot thank the staff enough.

I have been a resident for just two years. Being a younger person who has physical and mental health issues and I’m Dyspraxic I don’t have easy medical needs.
The staff at Beech Tree go above and beyond and they really look after us.
It is the King's Coronation today and have had a wonderful day with
a singer and party to celebrate.
All the staff are good but I would like to praise the activity ladies as here they are amazing.
They help us do a wide range of activities which include various animals coming here, arts and crafts, singers and different entertainers. We do regular armchair exercises and have a pamper day every Wednesday, we also do bingo and quizzes.
Thank you to each and every one of you not only for the work you do but for being my family.
Reply from Serpil Mitchell, Manager at Beech TreeDear Sarah,

From the moment we were greeted at the door by the maintenance man for our look around, everyone was so friendly and professional. It put our minds at ease instantly and first impressions really do count.
A member of staff showed us around and explained everything clearly, whilst listening to our own

I would have no hesitation in recommending Beech Tree and am delighted that we chose this delightful place to care for my mother.

I went to see someone there today. His room was cold as there is no heating in their room. They are sitting in a chair with a thin blanket over them, and no socks or slippers on their feet, they were freezing. The window was also open. there are sockets exposed and cracked by the bed a plug is plugged
in elsewhere stretching across the floor so the wires are easy to trip anyone up. the time we were there no one came into the room to see if everything was okay.
Reply from Serpil Mitchell, Manager at Beech TreeDear GK,
I am sorry to hear about your experience visiting someone. We would've welcomed your feedback and investigated these concerns if you raised them with us during your visit. We have an open-door policy and encourage open and honest discussion. I have not received a complaint about the heating. All of us, including myself, visually check rooms. Neither the maintenance man nor I have been reported to have exposed sockets or trip hazards. We are happy to meet and discuss your concerns.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.841)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.841) out of 10 for Beech Tree is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.841 for Beech Tree is calculated as follows: ( (234 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 277 Ratings = 4.841
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beech Tree is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
