Everyone seems very friendly. We haven't been able to enter the home yet due to COVID but we are looking forward to seeing mum's room and meeting the whole staff. Our decision below are made from our experiences without knowing about the internal parts of the home and are going on mum's thoughts.

My grandad first came to stay at Ashley House with mild dementia. The staff are fantastic, and their care for my grandad as he got progressively worse was second to none. My nan joined him, and she is enjoying life immensely. She loves the sing-alongs and loves the food. You are always offered a cup of tea when you visit, and we have even been offered a full meal if we drop in at mealtimes. Thank you so much for looking after my grandparents. It’s been such a weight off my mum's mind.

My father was a resident at Ashley House for over 3 years and during that time I found the quality of care to be very good, The staff were attentive and helpful. Keeping me fully informed of any issues. I would be happy to recommend Ashley House to others who are looking for a safe and caring environment for senior relatives.

My mother was in Ashley House only a short time but due to the care and compassion of all the staff her time there was immensely happy. They are outstanding, the management, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, literally all of them clearly love their jobs and it shows. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble. Please do go and look at Ashley House if your loved one is in need of a home. It's not about the surroundings, but the care that really counts.

This is the 3rd care home my mum has experienced and is by far the best. A good balance between friendliness and efficiency. Staff are always alert and attentive and clearly enjoy looking after the residents. Very recent improvements in dining room arrangement and upgrades to bedrooms have improved appearance and are welcome. Only criticism is control of personal items, particularly clothing, which sometimes gets misplaced.

My husband has been a resident for a year and five months, he seems quite happy, is well fed and well looked after even when he is stroppy. If he falls or has a problem one of the staff will call and let me know.

I can't believe mum is very happy and content, the last two years have been very stressful for us as a family and to find somewhere like Ashley House where she has a lovely room, all the staff make you welcome, mum loves the food and all the attention she gets, it's a joy to visit her and see her so content.

My husband had been in Ashley House for the past 9 months, he had been very happy there, he was extremely well looked after, fed and watered he had smiles for everyone and they had smiles for him. I do not know what I would have done without Ashley House, they treated me like their family as well, nothing was too much trouble. I give my heartfelt thanks to all staff from the bottom to the top. Nothing is too much trouble they have the time and patience to talk things through.

Overall Experience
My mum was a resident at Ashley House for the last 21 months of her life. Moving a loved one into a care home can be very hard emotionally and difficult for the resident. The skill of the staff ensured Mum settled well and we, her relatives were supported.
Mum thrived in the attentive care of the manager and her staff. All staff have regular training, especially in caring for people living with dementia, many of the staff have worked there for several years. As care needs changed they seemed quick to respond to deal with this and knew Mum's preferences.
Communication is open and I always felt I could raise concerns if any, I was always informed promptly if there were any changes with Mum.
Food is plentiful and if appetite is poor residents are offered alternatives, snacks are readily available for those who like to graze.
Daily activities are varied for those who want to join in.

The garden, whilst small is a lovely place to sit in the sunshine, residents can wander there safely.

The staff all seem to know my mother well - what she enjoys doing and what she isn't keen on. She's 101 and they involve her in all the activities that help on a daily basis. She has a good appetite and enjoys the food. We couldn't be happier with the choice of home.

I come every week to take one of the residents out for a few hours. The staff have been extremely helpful and friendly from day one and I can see they care about the residents.

Because of its location there isn't too much outside space and maybe a few more outings etc would be nice but as far as care goes which I guess is the most important it's outstanding.
