Belford House is a stunning residential care home with a caring, warm and homely atmosphere. Set in nearly three acres of beautiful gardens, Belford House is furnished to a very high standard, providing comfortable, cosy and safe surroundings.

The home has a newly extended dining room which overlooks the garden and three spacious lounges. Residents are encouraged to make the most of the outdoor space throughout the year, especially its lovely patio which is wheelchair accessible. A hairdressing salon offers in-house facilities for all residents.

Belford House’s 42 mostly en-suite rooms, located on two floors, all have garden views and a passenger lift is available. Each room has a television and the option of a private telephone. Wi-Fi is available in all bedrooms and through the home.

Belford House works with local GP surgeries and enjoys excellent links with the community multidisciplinary team. There are many activities on offer within the home in which residents are encouraged to participate to help residents maintain their interests, hobbies and skills.

Mum moved to Belford House from another care home many miles away. She has settled really well, as a result of the friendly, caring and supportive staff. There is always a smile, and staff have quickly learned Mum's foibles persuading her to get involved in activities. She loves her food, and the chef
provides some great meals and is always mindful of Mum's dietary needs. Belford House has a family feel, visitors are welcomed, and staff are always available to talk to. Any medical needs have been swiftly addressed, and one member of staff has a good understanding of residents' needs. We are really pleased that Mum has come to live at Belford House and would recommend it to others.

My father was a resident at Belford House for 8 months but sadly passed away recently. At that time, I found the management to be professional, caring and organized, which reflected in their team of carers, young and mature alike even during the Covid restrictions. After a fall, the senior team were
so concerned and attentive to all of dad's changing needs which continued to the end. The care and attention shown to my father extended to me, my family and my dad's friends right up to the end, for which I am so grateful.
They all have a " can do" attitude which meant that nothing was too much trouble, especially when it came down to the individual care of the resident. I would recommend Belford House to any person considering full/ part-time care as it is a difficult time for family and residents alike, to have to make that decision, but taking in the people, the atmosphere and the surroundings makes that decision much easier.

My mum was at Belford House for about six months before she sadly passed away. I had big concerns when we decided she needed full-time care, but the wonderful staff at Belford House, led by the manager, did a fantastic job of both easing her into her new way of life and filling her days while she stayed.
The staff were always very, very helpful, and it felt like nothing was too much. My mum was a gregarious character, which the staff quickly recognised. Overall, a truly caring, uplifting environment which gave me confidence my mum was in the best, safest hands in her final stage of life. Thank you all!

My mother has been a resident at Belford House for over 2 years. It is a very caring home with excellent friendly staff who are genuinely interested in the care and needs of our Mum. The staff are always helpful and informative in dealing with any queries we have had. Mum feels secure there and is always
reassured by both the Junior and Senior staff when she is feeling anxious. There are many varied activities on offer and family events when Covid allows. The GP practice attached to Belford also seems to be very efficient. Overall Belford House feels like a big family-run home which is so important to us for our Mum. Thank you to everyone at Belford House for looking after Mum.

My mother-in-law spent the last few days of her life in Belford House.
The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. My mother-in-law was treated with respect, dignity and importantly a very high standard of care from all.
The care staff ensured her last few days were comfortable, in a lovely
caring environment. She even had the opportunity to see her much loved dog before she died. As a family, we can not thank the staff enough for all they did.

My parents moved into Belford House in April. They settled in very quickly and the staff are all very caring and kind. My Mum had Alzheimer’s and died in November and went back to Belford House from the hospital for end of life care and they looked after us as well as my Mum and were very caring.
My
Dad is now there by himself and has early-stage dementia and I couldn’t wish for a better Care home for him to be in as they treat him like he is family and it’s so much more homely than the last Care home they were in.

Mum was very worried about going into residential care. Having looked at other care homes in the area, I knew Belford House was the one. The manager and staff were welcoming, and with full PPE and testing negative, allowed me to speak to a resident about the home. Mum moved in at the end of July. She
has been happy here since day one. She told me the staff are always kind, caring helpful and great fun. She feels like she has known them for years, and being shy, they always ensure she feels included in the many activities they have. She said she is happy we chose Belford House for her. Thank you to the whole team.

My mother has been into Belford House twice now for respite care. Each time she has been, her health and strength seem to improve; she is more alert. The staff are all very friendly and caring.

My mother has been at Belford House for about 3 months. Her general health has improved, together with an increase in her mobility. Mum particularly enjoys participating in the activities and outings. The staff are caring and seem really interested in getting to know and understand the residents.

My husband has been a resident at Belford House for eighteen months. The care he received throughout his time has been excellent. Staff were always caring particularly for his last few difficult months when nothing was too much trouble. He was treated with dignity right to the end. During Covid, visiting
was difficult but when possible they bent over backwards to allow visitors in. I have no hesitation in recommending Belford House.

On my arrival here at Belford House, after three weeks in hospital due to a bad fall, which fractured all my facial bones and made my teeth and upper jaw insecure, I came here as I needed someone to care for me and cook for me as I was only on pureed food. The fall also affected my confidence and ability
to walk. I can only say how excellent my personal care, my food, which from the very start not only was tasty but pureed beautifully, something hospital had failed to provide, which resulted in me losing two stone in weight. The carers are always kind, helpful, polite and respectful. I am now a permanent resident here and cannot say how this has put my mental state at peace. I feel so happy, relaxed and safe. Finally, at 95-years-old, I feel I can enjoy my final years. Thank you, Belford.

For the last 9 months, Belford House have been excellent. They were very professional, caring and accommodating to our mum. My mother has been staying in Belford House for over two years now, she was initially very reluctant to move in, however, she has subsequently adjusted to life there very well.
The main reasons for this are the staff and care that she receives whilst in Belford, everyone is extremely helpful, friendly
and Belford really does feel like home in which everyone is one big family. As a visitor, the welcome is always warm, from the offer of a cup of tea when I arrive to seeing how well taken care of Mum is, it really makes me feel very happy that we chose Belford House for her care.
We have recommended Belford to other people in similar situations and I would not hesitate to do the same again.

With Covid and Belford being taken over by Hartford at the same time we had huge concerns, however, every query we ever have is dealt with professionally and efficiently. Our Mum seems content (albeit issues with lockdown like all residents) and we are convinced this wouldn’t be the case if she was
unhappy.

I am Sadie and I am the deputy manager here at Belford, where I have been working since 2020.


I am grateful to work with such a great team that shows the values of Hartford Care and goes above and beyond for the residents who we support. The residents bring so much joy every day to the team here and I feel honoured to be a part of the memories we are able to create.


I am deeply committed to delivering the highest quality dementia care, ensuring that each resident receives support tailored to their individual needs. Additionally, I am highly dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care for residents and offering support to their families.
