Both of my parents were in this care home together, my mother was in the dementia wing and my father the residential. Neither were allowed to see each other on a regular basis. My mother died in the home and my father is still traumatised by the experience of living there. Following my mother’s...
Whilst he was at Engleburn they, on several occasions, overcharged us and even charged us for mother’s care after she died.
On collecting my father the management didn’t even speak to us, it was appalling.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions in the home the two different units had to be separated. All attempts were made to use video calls and communication between this couple. Again unfortunately due to circumstances prior to coming to the home, this couple could not be together in the same unit of the home which would have of course been the ideal situation. The gentleman in question had a full and active social life in the home and this included going out to weekly art classes until Covid 19 postponed these. There are two sides to every story.

My mother was a resident in Engleburn for just a few months before she passed away at the end of August. I found the staff and in particular the staff responsible for providing the care for my mother, to be both knowledgeable and understanding with regards to my mother's ongoing anxiety which was a symptom of her Alzheimer's. They were caring and reassuring towards my mother, who felt comfortable with all the care staff within a few weeks. The head of care changed aspects of my mother's care as a result of both her own observations of and conversations with my mother and she was always available to discuss and act upon issues or concerns of my mother I took to her.
No residential home is perfect but to me, the care provided to my mother was the most important thing and I was very happy with the care provided at Engleburn.
