The whole care package for my father was excellent; I could not find a fault anywhere. The end of life care was considerate and sensitive for both my father and the family. The family will certainly use Milkwood House Care Home for our mother should she need it.
Thank you so much for your lovely words; it was our honour to support your Father.
Mum has been a resident for the last 3 months, we are extremely happy with the care she is receiving and know she is being well looked after. All of the staff go out of their way to make sure she is happy and comfortable, we made the right choice when we selected Milkwood. Congratulations to all the team.
We have been able to keep in contact with my mum through FaceTime. We have been able to visit a couple of times and the staff are always helpful, happy and attentive to my mother. We are always informed of any change in her health or if there are any concerns. We are very happy with the care my mother receives at Milkwood House.
Many thanks for your lovely review. It is our pleasure to look after your mum, and she continues to keep us all entertained here!
My step-father came to Milkwood, initially for respite, with long term care as the way forward. At first, due to his condition, he was a little troublesome, but thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the staff, they won his trust and he started to settle in. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly after only 3 weeks, and I can't thank the staff enough for all they did to ensure his final days were comfortable. The staff are all very pleasant and friendly. The home itself is light, airy and welcoming, with good facilities. I would recommend Milkwood to anyone looking for a place for a loved one
Thank you for your lovely review! It was our pleasure to have looked after your step-dad, he is very much missed and thought of!
Due to Covid, I have been unable to see my mother's room. However, the staff appear to look after my mother with dignity and a smile. Thank you.
During my 4 years visiting the home I have only ever seen the residents treated with great care, respect and dignity at all times. The home appears to be well managed and run with staff aware of their responsibilities.
We have found that the whole team at Milkwood House, to be very helpful, understanding and very professional, especially through these difficult times we are all going through. It was stressful time in finding the correct care home for my mother. She settled in very quickly and that is mainly due to the carers and staff giving her the support she needed. Thank you.
Wonderful care for my father in his last year, caring, compassionate, holistic care tailored to my father's needs. Also, overwhelming support to me and my brothers during these unprecedented times. My father was so comfortable and content.
Thank you so much for allowing us to care for your father, a wonderful man and much loved.
Milkwood have been great! From day one they were so accomodating with my grandmother and in her own words, she says 'It's very nice - the staff here are brilliant.' It's very reassuring to have my grandmother in such safe hands. Our thanks to all the staff and management at Milkwood.
Cris,
Registered Manager Milkwood House
Milkwood House is a lovely friendly home. The staff are friendly and very caring. The home appeared to manage so well with the demands of Covid. The rooms are well maintained, and so are the grounds.
Thank you for your comments and friendly words. I will pass this to our staff teams.
Love this place! They have looked after my nan so well and she sounds so content every time I call. She is always saying how much she enjoyed her ‘tea’. Staff always listen carefully to any concerns myself or my mum have and the manager seems to action anything quite quickly! I have can’t wait to visit properly and thank them all in person.
They are extremely attentive to my grandmother.
My grandmother seems extremely happy in their care and the attention to keep family updated during the pandemic has been second to none.
Thank you for your kind words. It has been a difficult time for the care industry and we are so very grateful for all the support received from our residents families and friends.
In the short time our mother has been in the care home we have found both management and staff to be both helpful and caring. We are also kept up to date with information and can speak to our mum on a regular basis, especially through lockdown.
Very good standard of care.
I am the 'local to the home' friend of a resident whose family live in Yorkshire. I was informed by the family my friend was very ill during the lockdown, but on every occasion, I phoned the staff were most happy to update me on her progress. She has recovered thanks in no small part to the care given to her by the staff. I have always been made most welcome over the past two years by the staff and I am always aware of familiar faces. I was so pleased to receive the latest issue of 'Milky Way' including our update letter indicating the new procedures for visiting.
Residents always seem very happy and well cared for.
The house is very well laid out, quite spacious and always very clean.
The residents have regular activities, entertainment and outings.
The house seemed very well prepared, well in advance and during COVID lockdown.
I have been regularly updated with the situation at the home in general and my mother in particular. I have had my emailed letters printed for her and regular video calls with her.
The term "home" is very apt and I have no hesitation recommending Milkwood for your loved ones.
Thank you for your review on Milkwood House; I will pass your lovely comments to the staff team.
My nan was placed here as an emergency placement. We couldn’t have wished for a better care home, my nan was shown nothing but care and compassion from all the staff from the housekeepers all the way up to the managers. Would definitely recommend this care home.
The staff are amazing, always happy to talk and take the time to reassure the residents (and visitors), there is a genuine relaxed atmosphere. Varied and stimulating activities are regularly provided for the residents along with fresh, home-cooked meals. I viewed several care homes before selecting Milkwood and discovered several of them buy in 'pre-made aeroplane-style' meals. So discovering Milkwood cooked wholesome meals in their kitchen was a real bonus. The most important fact is that Milkwood has been my Uncle's home for over 5 years and he is happy, content and well cared for.
Thank you so much for your comments and your lovely review.
My mum was a resident at Milkwood for six years until she passed away in August. During that time I cannot fault the care she received. She had a lovely room which was bright and always spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Management were always accessible and organised plenty of activities and outings. The whole atmosphere of the home was relaxed and happy. The food was plentiful and very good but above all, Mum was treated with dignity and her needs were met with care, understanding, patience and good humour. I would recommend Milkwood to anyone looking for the best of care for their loved one.
Thank you for the lovely review of Milkwood House, I will pass this onto our Team.
My mother was at Milkwood for seven months, during which time the staff there dealt with her severe Alzheimer's with kindness and compassion. All of the staff were very professional and looked after mum with patience and good humour. Her room was nice and spacious, the residents' areas were welcoming and comfortable. I felt that she was treated with dignity and respect during this very difficult time of her life. The staff were also very kind to my father when he came to visit.
Thank you for your lovely comments and kind words.
