Pax Hill’s Elderly Mentally Frail Unit is a dementia specialist home, purpose-built for the very specific needs of those in the earlier stages of Alzheimer's and other dementias.

The building has been completely refurbished during 2018 and is effectively a brand new care home. Care and attention have been spent on details to provide benefits for residents in the early stages of dementia.

Structured activities are part of daily life and the environment supports the aim of providing an interesting and supportive living space for people with cognitive issues. The EMF wings' qualified care staff offer 24-hour residential care. The Manager and her deputy have years of experience in this field.

Set in the grounds of the larger nursing home and Baden Powell’s old house, the EMF wing benefits from its own enclosed, sensory garden accessible to residents.

All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities with large windows and views of the surrounding fields. Some have access to an enclosed patio area, some have a large balcony. The living, dining and activity areas are open, light environments where residents can join in with activities or observe others. There is a residents bar, library, cinema area and sweet shop. Communal areas are in different parts of the home providing choice for individual requirements.

We cannot highly recommend Pax Hill EMI Unit enough. It's been very hard seeing a close family member suffer from dementia, but the care and support offered by the team at Pax Hill is first class. We are extremely happy with all the care that is provided. The personal touch and care offered is second

My mother-in-law has been a resident for one year. During this time she has been well cared for and we have seen an overall improvement in her health and welfare. The staff are attentive and treat the residents with dignity and respect. The home has a very welcoming and friendly attitude.

I have been visiting Pax Hill for a year now and every time I come the home is very welcoming and friendly. There is a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are most conscientious and caring. The residents are always treat with great kindness and patience and there is much laughter and fun. We are always
offered refreshments and looked after very well. Its lovely to see all the activities that are organised for the residents- there is lots of stimulation for them.

Pax Hill has been wonderful in caring for my very elderly mother who suffers from Lewy body dementia. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. They are highly qualified and experienced with that sort of care. They always treat my mum with sensitivity and dignity. The activities manager send me
photos of my mum enjoying all the seasonal activities and this is lovely for me to see. I find such a relief and so reassuring to know that my mum is so well cared for and looked after.

My mother has been at Pax Hill for eighteen months and has received every aspect the most exceptional care. The staff are friendly, efficient and caring. The activities are excellent but it would be better if they were available more often.
