We have had family members reside at Sunnycroft over the past 8-years and have always found the care excellent.
We especially like the way that all residents are treated individually.
Over the past, very difficult year, the manager and her staff have gone the extra mile to make sure not only the residents are cared for but also that friends and family are aware of what is going on in the home.

We can't express fully how grateful we are to all at Sunnycroft, for the love and care they show the residents.

Sunnycroft care home was recommended to me by a neighbour whose Mother had stayed there, and I was not disappointed. The staff are friendly and caring and always willing to listen and address any concerns.

My mother has been there for four years and is very happy there. She is now 100-years-old. So, I think this proves they take very good care of their residents.

My Mum has been in Sunnycroft care home for the past 2 1/2 years. I must admit I didn't want her to into a home at all but when I visited Sunnycroft, as soon as I walked through the door, I just knew she would be happy there. All the staff is lovely. They are the most caring people, giving love, patience, and understanding every day of the week. They are all perfect angels, working above and beyond to keep everyone safe and not one case of COVID-19, which I do find exceptional. The Manager is perfect. She is calm, caring and everyone loves her. Nothing is too much trouble for all the carers and I thank them all, from the bottom of my heart, for not only caring about my Mum, but also for the other residents. It is a care home where kind words, a cup of tea and a hug goes a very long way, and this is what you get at Sunnycroft.

Mum lived at Sunnycroft for nearly 3 years. The staff there are very special. It was such a comfort to know that they were caring for Mum and they also supported our family so kindly, especially during her final days. There is a regular variety of fun activities and the location is very peaceful with a beautiful view. It has a very family-friendly feel and I would recommend Sunnycroft to anyone considering a caring home for a loved one.

Mums' stay at Sunnycroft was made a home from home for her by the Manager and all the staff. They are all extremely friendly, caring, and totally professional. Their kindness in the last week of Mum's life was exemplary to us and we will be forever grateful to them. Well done to the whole team.

A very professional and caring home. All the time Mum was capable of participating there were a lot of different activities to keep her occupied.

Right up to the very end, all the staff were very kind and attentive to Mum and they treated her with the utmost respect. They were also very kind to me and my two sisters, especially during the last week of Mum being with us. We couldn't be more grateful for everything they did.

Mum spent 2 years in this care home where she was always happy and felt at home. She enjoyed all the activities which were varied and professional. Mum was always treated with respect and dignity. She always had a smile for all the staff and a "hello my love". We were always welcome to come and join in with any of the activities with mum.

My mother has been at Sunnycroft since 01/01/2015. Throughout her time at the home, there has been no issues. I am always updated with any changes in health, medication or important problems.
My mother is very happy, well looked after and is treated as part of a family. The internal and external parts of the building are maintained and cleaned to a constant high standard.

I do not have to worry about any welfare issues, and when I visit, I am always welcomed with an update and a smile in a very friendly atmosphere; 100% great.

Sunnycroft is a happy home with truly dedicated staff from the top-down who go above and beyond for the residents and their families. There is a good activities program which is varied to suit all and usually good fun, including the Summer Fayre and Christmas Party where families can attend and join in.
During Mum's time there she was treated with the utmost love, dignity and respect. Nothing was too much trouble. Any medical needs were always dealt with quickly, and we as a family were always kept informed.

The staff's caring and professional approach made a difficult time easier to cope with. I would highly recommend Sunnycroft.

Our experience of Sunnycroft was always good! We always felt welcome, and Mum was happy once she settled. The staff were amazing with Mum and showed her genuine care and love. They were also very kind to us and sensitive when needed to be.

Now Mum is gone, we genuinely miss seeing the all! Thank you.

I never envisaged my mother ending up in a care home, for someone active all her life, but dementia was diagnosed. It is a difficult time for all concerned, but Sunnycroft has provided my mum with love, care humour and a home from home. I know she is well looked after and there is always continuity with the staff and consistency that the same carers have been there all this time, which gives routine. I cannot thank the staff enough; quality service.

I have been extremely happy with the loving care Sunnycroft staff have given to my cousin. It has been such a relief to know that they always had her best interests at heart and that she was happy and well cared for. Whenever we visited we were always welcomed and we were kept informed of our cousins health at all times. We have appreciated all their hard work and care. Thank you.

My 89-year-old mum has Alzheimer’s and lives with my family and I. It’s not easy and is very restrictive. We were lucky enough to find that a local care home, Sunnycroft, were willing to have Mum for a day, or a night or two. It has been a lifesaver to know we can take Mum for a weekend and she will be well looked after.
Mum doesn’t like to leave her armchair to go anywhere but no matter what her mood she always perks up when we arrive. The first ‘Hello!’ always feels familiar to her. Even though Mum’s memory is covert bad when we leave she is full of praise. ‘What a lovely bunch of girls they are’. She comments on how lovely the food is.

The effort the staff go to for fun, themed days is amazing. Even though it’s not necessary, Mum’s clothes are always freshly washed when we collect her. They’ve made birthday cakes for Mum and she gets gifts at Christmas etc. The care home feels like a big family and I’m 100% happy with their care.

Sunnycroft is fantastic. Amazing staff, they look after mum impeccably. They support my family in giving advice and support in understanding dementia.
We are encouraged to treat the care home as our own and are always made welcome. Mum's incredibly well looked after, she's given one to one and is taken out. Her room is lovely and was re-decorated for her.
The care home is very clean, the food is great (all home cooked). Mum's kept busy with activities - quizzes, memory exercises, bingo etc.

They let her bake cakes, organise summer fetes, Easter egg hunts and Christmas parties. The staff are amazing, always friendly, patient, understanding to Dementia. I can't emphasise enough how great Sunnycroft is! Other care homes should learn from them. Mum's very happy there.

Overall Experience
Mum has been here over a year now and I have no complaints at all. Choosing a care home for a loved one is a scary thing, and we looked at several. What I liked about Sunnycroft was it felt like 'home' rather than 'a home' and it has not disappointed.
Mum feels safe here and it is her home - we are all welcome to visit at any time and feel part of the community that is Sunnycroft.
The care aspect is just that - there is a sense that all the staff do care about the residents, rather than just provide care. Whilst her dementia has progressed, the level of support has developed to meet her needs but ensuring that she retains as much independence as possible and doesn't feel a burden.

The support they have given us, as the wider family is also exceptional, caring about how we feel and what is happening in our lives. This has been especially important in helping my children come to terms with what has happened to their Gran and feeling comfortable visiting her.
