I always get a welcome from the staff and chat with them freely. They know who I come to see and know her well. She is happy, content, and well looked after there. It's a well-run home from the manager downwards and has a lovely, homely feel to it always. It is such a blessing to our family that she is there - we never worry about her. The staff are well-trained and responsible carers and speak with respect to the residents.

Dad has been at Sunnycroft for almost 18 years now and has always been very happy and really well looked after. What I love most about Sunnycroft is that the staff genuinely love Dad and treat him like their own family, and that means the absolute world to me when I can't be there to look after him.

Mum was at Sunnycroft - having been accepted (thankfully) while Covid was doing its worst, unfortunately, she had to go into a hospital near the end of April (just short of 2-years) and will be unable to return as she now requires a nursing home.
Sunnycroft staff are friendly, caring and supportive and looked after Mum so well, especially when she was finding things difficult.
Due to Covid, I didn't get into the home until some time after Mum arrived, and I was delighted to find that the premises are friendly. Mum had a view out the back which overlooked some fields where horses would sometimes be. Lovely and quiet, not so big you worry your loved one is just going to be a number. I also like the ethos of the owners.

From day one, I’ve been impressed with Sunnycroft. For me, it’s the small things that count the most - it took only my second visit, and the staff knew who I was and who I had come to see. Their patience is outstanding, and they’re always smiling. My nan is very special to me, so, trying to pick a care home was extremely stressful - but I’m glad we chose Sunnycroft. I’m always confident she’s in safe hands, and they genuinely care about her. This is a reflection of all the staff, and even still, there are a couple that still far exceeds expectations.

Nan moved to Sunnycroft after living with us for 6 years. This was the hardest decision we had to make and broke all our hearts as we were determined to never move her to a care home. However, Sunnycroft has made this an easier process and taken Nan in as part of their family. Everyone cares for each resident so much and that is evident on each visit. Nan is loved by all the staff and you can see that by the way they are with her, having their own personal jokes etc. When visiting you also feel like part of their family and can always have a chat. During the pandemic, Sunnycroft has adapted and ensured the safety of the residents and I can not praise them enough for all their hard work. They have enabled all the resident to have either outside visits, pod visits or face to face visits when restrictions allowed which was amazing to keep residents spirits high and you could tell the difference it made after lockdown. Thank you Sunnycroft for all the care and love you have shown us.

Mum going into a home was the hardest decision. What I didn’t realise was that not only would she be gaining an extended family, but we would be too. There is always time for a chat, a laugh and reassurance when needed. To see the interaction she has with the staff has been great. From the smallest of touches to laughing out loud, you can see she is treated with love and kindness, like their relative, not just a resident. The activities have given her a lot of enjoyment, and she has really come out of her shell.

The staff have worked tirelessly throughout Covid, providing that extra love and support that families have been unable to give. Keeping us regularly updated and putting in place ways for us to keep in touch. We can never thank them enough and will always be extremely grateful to each and every one of them.

My mother, who suffered from severe dementia, lived at Sunnycroft for around two years up until March 2021. When it became too difficult for her to remain living at home, it was a stressful time for the family, but finding Sunnycroft and seeing how the management and staff looked after her, meant a great weight being lifted from our shoulders. To know that she was in a safe place being supported by people who obviously cared was a great comfort. The rooms she occupied were kept to a very high standard of cleanliness and maintenance. The staff were always cheerful and obviously enjoyed their difficult jobs. I was also impressed by the number and quality of the activities they laid on for the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sunnycroft as a safe and welcoming place.

Mum resided at Sunnycroft for nearly three years, and for the whole of that time, I could find no fault in their care and attention. Sunnycroft feels like a 'home' and is so welcoming to both residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble, and the most important aspect, namely 'care', is second to none. Mum's dementia deteriorated over her time with Sunnycroft, however, the advice and support both she and I received were fantastic. The staff work as a strong team led by a highly capable manager and deputy manager.

My grandad has been in Sunnycroft for 16-years. I’ve grown up visiting him there and can honestly say the staff there have made him as much a part of their family as he is of mine. They’ve kept him safe and happy, and still with that mischievous twinkle in his eye after all these years. More recently, the way they’ve handled the ongoing pandemic has been second to none. Despite now living miles away, I have been able to keep in contact with my grandad thanks to the carers helping him with video calls, and regular email updates have kept me up to date with all the fantastic measures they’ve put in place to keep him safe. Earlier this month, I was finally able to travel to visit him in the Covid secure visiting area they have set up with a Perspex screen and microphone, and seeing his smiling face was the best present I could ask for. Thank you, Sunnycroft - here’s to another 16-years!

I hadn't seen my mum for 16 months due to Covid-19 restrictions. When I was able to see her in June 2021, I was delighted to see that she looked well cared for and had retained her witty spark. This was despite the challenging circumstances of the pandemic, her dementia and other ailments. I noticed the staff spoke to her with respect and affection and related to her in a way that promoted her independence. My husband and I were warmly welcomed by the staff we met. We returned back to Scotland, feeling more reassured and relieved that my mum was being treated with kindness and respect. I look forward to my next visit when possible.

Sunnycroft looks after its residents well. They keep me well informed of my fathers medical and mental state. They provide a good variety of social gatherings, which help to keep the residents entertained and help them to interact with each other. Their kitchen provides a good selection of nutritious food and drinks throughout each day.

Circumstances dictated my parents going into care earlier this year. They are now in a shared room and happy to be together. My sisters and I are so pleased that Sunnycroft was able to take them both, a decision that has been rewarded by an obvious blossoming and contentedness in them both. We have had excellent communications with the manager and all the staff, and the updates are not only welcome but reassuring.

I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful people at Sunnycroft.

I began visiting a few years ago when an elderly friend became a resident. It was lovely to see how he was cared about, and when my mother-in-law needed something similar, we wanted that same warmth for her.

Lovely people. We would recommend Sunnycroft to anyone.

Both my father and mother have been residents for nearly three years (my father having passed away in February 2021). Dad had severe dementia, and Mum has milder symptoms. They had rooms opposite one another at one end of the house, which gave them an additional degree of privacy. The standard of care during the period has been exemplary. The staff are attentive and caring, and both the manager and her deputy are exceptional individuals who combine a caring nature with knowledge and insights, which enable them to effectively manage the care provisions, and also to sometimes, anticipate issues before they become difficult. The continuity of the staff is significantly better than other homes I have had the experience of. During Covid, the owner has communicated regularly and candidly about the difficulties faced by Sunnycroft specifically and care homes in general.

We looked at many care homes in 2019 for my uncle, who was no longer able to care for himself. Sunnycroft stood out immediately as the best in the area. He has lived there for nearly two years now, and he is very happy there. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive, and he cannot speak highly enough of them. Staff always seem aware of how he is, and will always contact us if there are any issues. I would say that my uncle considers most of the staff as friends, rather than carers. The care he receives is of the highest quality, and he is a man who would say so if it was not! Finally, the thing that I would suggest is the most important to my uncle is his food, and he certainly has no complaints there; the food is cooked on the premises and is the highlight of his day!

We can't speak highly enough of the staff and facilities, which gives you true peace of mind when they are caring for a loved one.

My mother, who has moderate stage dementia, has been cared for at SunnyCroft for the past 12-months. When she was first admitted, she was recovering from a recently broken hip, though she quickly; with kind support from the home, regained good mobility. She has been very well and lovingly cared for. The situation with the Covid restriction has been difficult for everyone, but the staff and management at the home have worked hard and with ingenuity to make safe visits possible.

Mum has been a resident at Sunnycroft Care Home since March 2019, and after an initial settling in period, is enjoying living there. She has told me how lovely the staff are, and she really enjoys the meals. I’m therefore confident and reassured that the care she is receiving is excellent. During Covid, Sunnycroft has provided facilities for family members to visit in a safe environment complying with the regulations and have kept us informed with regular emails concerning visiting restrictions and the shifting Covid rules.

Excellent care from a dedicated, well-led, professional team. We’ve been very impressed with the way they have managed what has been an extremely difficult period during Covid.
