We have just moved Mum, very reluctantly, to a care home closer to her children. My brothers, sisters and myself are very grateful for the care she has received over the last two and a half years and would not hesitate to recommend this facility, where the staff are outstanding, and the facilities are excellent.
Westlands Team are honoured and thankful for the opportunity to know and support Mum and mum's extended family, thank you for the kind review.
Due to the Covid virus, as a family, we have not had access inside the home until this last week when I could visit my mother in her room. From what I could see, everything looked clean and tidy, as was my mother. From our interactions over the telephone, we were left with the impression that the staff were very kind and caring to Mum. They have always been very helpful to us too.
Westlands Team cannot thank you enough for the kind review and the chance to support your mum. We are thankful and honoured to have the opportunity to not only know your mum but also you, as her extended family.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Westlands for looking after Mum so well. Your care during the COVID pandemic has been amazing and under such challenging circumstances. I am very happy to be able to see her, physically, every week again and am so appreciative of the work you do to make this possible.
I was hesitant about my mum being placed here, as it was quite a distance from her friends and family. However, after reading the CQC report, it appeared much nicer than other homes nearer to home. I needn’t have worried as the care that my mum has received, is brilliant. My mum is so happy there and loves the staff and the company of the other residents, it has given her a new lease of life. The Manager and Deputy Manager are great and have been so supportive to both me and my mum. Their staff always appear happy and cheerful and are also very welcoming. I feel able to relax knowing that my mum is so well cared for.
Dear Jo, thank you so much for this wonderful review, we are honored to support, not only Mum but also you as a family. It is lovely to see her smiling face on a daily basis and know that she is happy here with the Westlands family. Our family has been extended and enhanced.
Both of my parents are now residents at Westlands. They both live with Alzheimer's and Dementia and are no longer able to live independently. The care and consideration they have been given at Westlands are excellent. My brother and I now have such peace of mind in the knowledge that they are happy, healthy and cared for. There is a fun atmosphere, thanks to the activity programme that is available to everyone. It is so good to have them living together once more, having been separated during the pandemic last summer. Whenever I phone to speak to them, I am greeted by a cheerful member of staff, happy to go out of their way for me to have contact with Mum and Dad, whenever I wish. The staff are all clearly devoted to providing an excellent level of care.
Dear Julie, thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. The management and the staff team are overwhelmed. Your parents are amazing people and we are grateful to be able to support them and you, as a family. Living so far away too, which we know must be difficult for you, so the...
My Dad has been at Westlands for a year now. He has been cherished and totally cared for by all the lovely staff. They are so loving and kind to him and brighten up his life. He is always very grateful for all they do. The manager and her office staff, are always happy to help with whatever questions I have to ask. It's been hard not seeing him during this lockdown. He took quite poorly recently and I was allowed a quick visit which was lovely. He's now perked up after that. His room is clean with a view of the garden and has its own bathroom. Looking forward to popping in again when the rules are changed, for us all to visit again. Thank you everyone at Westlands.
Thank you Karen for this wonderful review, we really appreciate you taking the time to do this. We are all looking forward to seeing everyone again soon too, remaining covid free has been the priority and we thank you for your understanding during this pandemic, we did manage some lovely visits in...
Thank you so much for looking after my father. They do a wonderful job. Always attentive, compassionate and kind. He didn’t speak English which made their job harder. But yet they manage to find a way to communicate with him. They make him laugh and keep him happy. They are wonderful to us as well. Even through the lockdown. They even have a board which tells you what they are doing. Dad loves the gardens.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send this wonderful review, especially at this most difficult time, we felt honoured to have Dad in our care.
I am having to move my partner due to the lack of care given at this care home, and they are sick of me complaining. They don't like that I ask for his soiled pants to be changed, his soiled bedding to be changed, for his room to be clean, that many of his clothes (which I wash and iron) have gone missing. They don't like that my partner doesn't ring the bell when he needs something, but then brain cancer can do that. They have left him on the floor for hours during the night instead of checking on him as is written in his care plan. They don't wash him or shave him unless he asks, again, he has brain cancer! So I have been vilified by these 'caring' people. If you care about your loved ones enough to check that the care is what you expect, then don't bring them here. It states all sorts of specialisms on their website, none of which they have. When I complained to the owner he said ' if you keep complaining you will find the care will consciously or subconsciously deteriorate.
Thanks Sara for your feedback. We all really enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to look after your partner's care needs for over four years that he was staying with us and sincerely hope he is doing well. We are extremely disappointed that despite the management and care team's best and...
I would just like to say when it came to my mum needing a home we were so lucky. We came to Westlands for a look and wow we were amazed, (we had looked at a few) when we walked in the first thing that met us was a smiling face. Then as we walked around every member of staff stopped and said hello with even more smiling faces. We were so pleased we also felt so at home it was amazing, as you can imagine, we and the rest of the family think the world of mum and when you go nothings too much trouble and mum she is always smiling. So to the staff who look after a very special lady in our life.
Thank you for being the best and all the love and dedication you show all you care for. We are looking forward to seeing you all as soon as we are allowed and thank you for keeping all safe during this pandemic and always. I thank god for you all and showing me the way to you.
Thank you so much to your and your family for recognising the dedication and love shown to your very precious "lady", we adore supporting her. The team would like to say a very big thank you for your continued support and we wish you all good health, stay safe and take care, see you as soon as we can.
Cannot fault the loving care my mum has had at Westlands care home. The manager and all the carers have given us peace of mind throughout the lockdown. We are so grateful. Physical and mental needs are covered so well. Entertainment and social involvement for my Mum. Constant communication to let us know how she is, letting us visit and see her through the window.
Thank you Donna, your kind words are so greatly appreciated by the whole team. I am extremely proud of their professionalism and especially so throughout the pandemic, keeping everyone safe and well. Family matter to us too and we are pleased to see you, albeit through a pane of glass for now, take care, stay safe and thank you once again.
Many thanks once again for all your hard work.
Dear David, thank you so much for this review, mum is a pleasure to care for and you and your family have always been so very supportive of Westlands and the team. We can never say enough thank yous to those that entrust loved ones in our care, take care and stay safe and hopefully, the pandemic will be over soon so we can all meet again. Helen & Team.
My mother recently passed away after living in this home for nearly two years. In that time, she had excellent care from the staff who are wonderful, from management right down the ladder, staff are lovely. My mum passed away very peacefully, aged 92, with no medication and the staff couldn't do enough for my Mum and our family. Thank you Westlands, we as a family, are very grateful to the staff.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send a review at this very sad time, we will not only miss mum but you as a family. You have been amazing and we send our love and respect to you all.
The staff and carers are always pleasant. They really do care about all the residents and it is such a relief to know mother-in-law is being well cared for and entertained as much as she wants to be.
Thank you Barbara for your review, we very much appreciate you taking the time to do this and we look forward to a continued partnership and input from you as a family, we would also like to thank you for your input, ideas and support at the coffee and chat meeting on the 2nd April.
Although my relative has only been at Westlands Care Home for a couple of months he has been treated very well. With endless patience and understanding. All the staff are helpful and friendly.
A lovely home and all the staff are very good. It's like a hotel and the rooms are very good too. Lots of things to do every day for them. Lots of room to walk around the home. Always a carer around the home.
All care staff/nurses are very kind and welcoming. As a health care assistant myself, I very much appreciate how busy they are, but they do their very, very best to care for everyone's individual needs. I know this because, as I have seen it myself, my mum is always well presented and has help with feeding when necessary. The care staff are also informative eg if the doctor is visited/there is a change of medication etc. Overall I am very pleased with my mum's care and Mum loves the food.
It is our pleasure to be able to support mum and you as a family and it is comforting to know that you feel that mum is well cared for too.
My dad went to Westlands when my mum was taken into hospital following a stroke in September, my mum joined my dad in October. Westlands is a very friendly and welcoming home and the staff are extremely polite. Hats off to all the staff who do such a fantastic job. I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit. If I ever have any concerns, they are always dealt with and nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely care home set in beautiful surroundings. The staff are amazing with my parents, cannot thank them enough for all the support they have given.
Excellent care provided by sympathetic carers.
Westlands is a very happy home! The staff, without exception, are kind, caring, helpful and hardworking. If I ever have a question or a problem it is sorted straight away. I turn up to visit my mum at different times and days and have never been aware of any problems.
