On the whole, have been very well looked after.

Communication between night + day staff is sometimes not in place ie: room not cleaned + bed not made until late in day.

Reply from Stephen Stace, General Manager at Barchester Wimborne Care Home

It was a pleasure to have looked after you following you short stay in hospital, I have fed back to the appropriate teams your comments on how to make things even better for you. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

The staff were attentive and helpful. There was always someone there to answer questions and concerns. The rooms were tidy and clean, though my mother's room was furtest away in respect of distance from lounge so cleaning time was sometimes rather late.

My husband recently spent a few weeks staying at Wimborne his first time living away from home. The atmosphere was warm and caring. The staff were helpful - they respected his need for solitude at times/not always wanting to be drawn into some activities on offer.

He enjoyed the food and the morning walks as well as being allowed, at times, to chat with folks in the entrance area! As a family we were well supported and kept informed regularly. A good experience. Thank you.

My mum, Jo, has been a resident at the Wimborne Care Home for some 18 months and I cannot praise the staff, managers, all the carers and even Gary who does the maintenance for looking after my mum they way they do. Mum has also made many new friends and its lovely to see that interaction and how they all look out for each other. Cakes are exceptional!

June was in as a Respite, initially 14 days there, as not ready for leaving, another 14 days. Due to the care, and help from NHS OT and Physio, and private physio, she's recovered mobility well and now coming home. Initially, despite excellent care from the home, was a little unsettled but has adjusted to care home life.

It was a very upsetting time when I had to find a suitable home for my Dad. Right from my initial call to Wimborne, I was treated with kindness, compassion and an empathetic approach. They have been incredibly supportive throughout the process. My Dad has been with them since beginning of August and nothing is too much trouble. They have gone above and beyond. My Dad is so happy thanks to their flexible and caring approach. Nothing is too much trouble and all staff are always helpful and friendly. They take him out regularly and he's even helmed a boat bringing back precious memories of his time in the navy. Being a veteran registered home this was important to them. I can't thank them enough for supporting us and welcoming my Dad with open arms, they're a true extension of our family.

Our Mother of 92 years of age needed time to recover from a fall after a week in hospital before going back home. A few care homes were visited on Hayling Island as we wanted the home to be close to the family home that our father was still living at. Wimborne was by far the best option fornour mother.
Nikki was ever so helpful to have the process completed in less than 24hours to allow our mother to be made very welcome once she had been discharged from hospital at Cosham.
The stay was originally booked for two weeks but was extended by another 8 days to allow a full recovery.

Highly recommend, the staff were ever so obliging. Our mother was extremely well looked after, food was excellent and there were many activities available during the day.

The staff are always helpful & friendly on the phone and in person. We have over an hours travel to the Wimborne care home and are always assured of a smiling welcome. The residents are usually engaged in activities and although our relative doesn't get too involved, they are happy & content to watch television and occasionally interact with other residents. They also enjoy excursions in the mini bus and always praise the food provided.

I know how everyone likes everything and has a keen eye for detail.

I get joy from making people happy, and here, both residents and staff are so kind, all do so appreciate the help, and it is wonderful to feel so valued by everyone.

My experience of working here at Wimborne has been just fantastic, so much so that I'm often in during my own time, and a personal highlight has been a Jive night recently, when I had the great pleasure of dancing with so many of our residents in a real 'night to remember'.

Hi, I'm Keith

I really should have retired, but when you are happy at work, as I really am here at Wimborne, I know I'd really miss it!

I'm part-time time but every hour I'm here, I enjoy and knowing I make a difference for residents brings me joy. I love the variety, the staff and absolutely the residents. If I'm outside, they might be with me or giving me a wave from inside. It's a very happy place.

I am a long-time Hayling Resident and started in care as the perfect job whilst raising my young family.

I've long admired and recommended Wimborne - knowing it to be such a happy and sociable home, it is my honour and privilege to be working here now.
