My mum's general mobility is greatly improved since she became a resident a year ago. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and it is always clean. Staff interaction with the residents is good and caring. I would like to see waist-height planters in the gardens giving easy accessibility for the residents to use. A huge benefit would be the provision of a vehicle to enable trips out for residents.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful care home, the staff are all amazing, nothing is too much trouble, I only wish we found this care home in the beginning, my mum is really at the end of her life with Dementia and we as a family know she is getting the best care.

As with any decision of this magnitude, it is extremely difficult to put yourself in a loved one's shoes and decide whether a care home will be suitable for all their needs. I have to say, from the moment we were shown around the home to when my father arrived we were kept informed with the staff taking their time to fully explain all the questions we had. The care home was pleasantly laid out with separate units for each group of residents each with their own lounge, dining area and individual rooms. The home was clean, brightly lit and felt comfortable to be in. Whenever any questions arose the staff always responded quickly and took the time to discuss any areas of concern. Perhaps, the most rewarding of all was the way the staff treated my father with dignity, caring and in looking after his needs. They were always courteous, helpful and demonstrated a happy and positive mindset. Well done to Ashwood Care Home!

It is such a hard decision to make when you have to place a parent in care. But please put any preconceived negative thoughts aside, Ashwood is the best place to choose to place a loved one. The level of care is amazing, I have seen firsthand the genuine care and dedication my mother and other residents receive. You may feel anxious when you first visit a loved one, but I promise you that you will leave feeling that they are well cared for and looked after. You can ring the home anytime to check on how your loved one is getting on, and the staff know straight away how they are doing, they are all invested in each resident. It's clean, bright and spacious, and doesn't smell, has lovely outdoor space, and the team are always organising events, crafts etc. They go above and beyond and take the worry away. Can't praise Ashwood enough. Thank you.

Living in Devon has made visiting my Aunt difficult. However, from the very beginning, we felt reassured that she was being cared for in the best possible way. This is mainly due to the excellent staff and their leadership team. We are very grateful for all the care and kindness you have shown my Aunt during her stay with you.

My mum has lived at Ashwood since the start of covid in 2020. These were challenging times for the staff. Over the last 2 years, I have found all the staff to be caring and friendly and try their hardest to reassure the people that live there. It feels like a family environment and it makes leaving your loved one a little easier when you feel that they are being well cared for.

The care our mum/mum-in-law has received at Ashwood has been exemplary throughout the time she was a resident. The staff go above and beyond to ensure everyone is looked after within a safe, lovely and loving environment - a true home from home. Relatives feel included and valued. And during her final days she was cared for with such dignity and love and we felt looked after too. Thank you every at Ashwood.

My Mum has been in Ashwood since November 2021, she settled in quite quickly and all the staff have been very friendly and caring. I am grateful for their care, particularly during the lockdown periods which were so difficult to manage. They put a lot of work into their events and I’m hoping Mum will be able to join in on future occasions.

It was so nice to be back in the home after a lockdown recently due to a Covid outbreak. The home was swift to respond and very diligent in working to rid the home of infections. They kept the family up to date and welcomed us all back once they re-opened. The staff know every resident and their needs and likes and keeps me well informed if there are any issues. I feel able to relax knowing she is so well looked after.

My father-in-law stayed at Ashwood for Christmas and New Year. It was his first experience of residential care and he absolutely loved it. He is still talking about the lovely staff, residents, and food. He compares it to a first-class hotel and enjoyed all the activities and socialising that he was able to engage with. He left feeling refreshed and very much cared for, both physically, loving the bubble bath and emotionally, as he felt safe and valued. As his visiting family, we could see how happy he was here and how much he was respected with dignity. He would love to return if needed and we would feel he would be cared for as we and he would wish.

My Nan has been a resident at Ashwood for around 5 months now, and I really couldn’t be more grateful to the lovely, friendly, helpful carers here. Any questions, worries, etc I’ve had I’ve always been helped and reassured and been able to contact whenever needed. With everything covid related going on at the moment they have still always gone the extra mile to help and support even though this is something they have never experienced themselves before. I couldn’t be happier with the team there and I love how easy it’s been to build a lovely relationship with them all. Thank you Ashwood team.

When it was mentioned Nan might be going into a home we had our reservations. The staff guided both Nan and ourselves through what could have been a really difficult and distressing time (for us all). Now seeing how settled and looked after (and loved) by the team at Ashwood has proved that this was the right decision. Nan has made some lovely friends and has an amazing bond with the kind and caring team. Nothing is too much for them and the love they give to Nan goes a long way. Nothing is ever too much and knowing Nan is safe, being looked after properly, and is in the company of people who genuinely care makes all the difference. Thanks, Ashwood! Big thanks to the staff who make such a difference.
