Continuously helpful and courteous in all departments, skilful where medical advice and treatment are concerned, keen attention is shown to cleanliness and tidiness be it in the corridor, lounge or private rooms; mixed collection of occupation all interests including "hands-on" topics. Staff appear to make the most of numbers supplied although this is quite obviously lacking quite a lot of the time.

My mum is very happy at Ashwood. She likes all the staff and they seem to like her! The quantity and quality of activities that go on is superb, and Mum enjoys it all. As visitors, we are made to feel welcome and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Two areas that concern me are that she has lost numerous items from her room, including glasses, a watch, cuddly toys and no end of clothes. Secondly, there are times when it is hard to find a member of staff when needed.

Caring people (staff). Mixing people with different degrees of dementia can make it uncomfortable for some. Could be more carer sin bungalows. Food selection and menus well thought out. Minor things like no hand gel at entrance or soap in the toilet could be better. Garden areas could be tidier. Entertainment and activities are very good.

My mother has lived in Ashwood since the beginning of last year. She came into the home at discharge from hospital, she has settled in very well and I feel more reassured since she moved into Ashwood. She is well cared for and staff are very friendly.

All residents have been included in the decorating Christmas of their home.

Lots of singing and happy times. Staff very friendly and know the residents and their needs and funny ways. I take my hat off to the staff here that work very hard and always manage to have a smile on their face. Lots of notices of upcoming events. BBQ's in the summer fetes etc. Carol singing and more staff go the extra mile to keep the residents safe and happy.

My mother was sent here from the dementia ward at the hospital. I read the reviews on here and was dismayed by the awful comments. My mum came anyway, I had no option.

From the initial visit until my mum left (not through my choice) the staff at Ashwood have been fantastic, very polite, helpful, reassuring and kind. I witnessed strength, compassion and loving care given by staff to patients at all visits, at any time of day, weekend etc... Very sorry to leave.

My mother has been a resident at Ashwood for 2 and a half years now and has dementia. I can't praise enough the amazing care she receives. The staff are always available to talk to and the carers are lovely. Always very caring and kind to all the residents. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else. I visited her most days and have never had any cause to worry about her. The new activity co-ordinator is brilliant and always has plenty of new ideas for everyone.

Little really to tell, but mum seems settled and content. All the staff are very caring and communicative. Could the staff spend more time one to one with the residents or is there not enough time? An email newsletter to residents would be great.

Wholly support plans to have outings spaced out.
