As always, the various staff members have been helpful and accommodating. This is particularly noticeable in these times of coronavirus where they are under even greater pressure. My mother, a dementia sufferer, always seems happy and well-looked after.

My mum has been a permanent resident here for almost a year. Prior to her admission, she had a few respite stays in Ashwood. We, as a family, are delighted with the care, attention, and kindness shown to our mum and cannot recommend it highly enough. We know how difficult and challenging it can be to make the decision to place a relative into care but we also know we could not maintain the same standards if she was living on her own!

Hello Maggie, it is rewarding to hear that you are glad about the care we have provided to your mother. Our priority is the care and environment we provide to residents, and your comments are fully supportive.

My visit with my father was welcoming and enjoyable in such difficult times. The staff were friendly and supportive and the home was warm and homely. Hearing my father say, 'It's really nice here' after being a resident for almost three years reassured me that he is happy and well cared for.

Sadly my dad needed a care home - thank goodness I found Ashwood. All the staff are amazing - no one could be any kinder and supportive. Each member of the team from manager through to handyman have all gone out of their way to make my dad feel welcome and so well cared for! With a lump in my throat - because in all honesty, I didn’t think this day would be so soon for my dad! A very massive thank you!

I cannot speak more highly about Ashwood. My mum came here last July. The care she has received has been amazing, my mum is a totally different person now and has come on so well. The staff are wonderful and that is everyone. Whenever I call, all are so helpful. Always communicate with us re mum. So caring and we are so grateful as a family. Would so recommend this home.

Just wanted to say a huge, enormous, massive thank you to the amazing staff at Ashwood for allowing me to see my Aunty for the first time since the summer, she looked well cared for and happy. The pod is a fantastic addition to the home and will be very much appreciated by relatives eager to see their loved ones! I have no doubt that the pod comes with a mountain of paperwork and extra health and safety assessments and time-consuming cleaning which staff are to be commended for undertaking selflessly in the effort to keep our loved ones, us and themselves as safe as can be. A heartfelt thank you to Ashwood staff!

Any concerns I had with placing my mum into residential care were soon alleviated, the staff at Ashwood were so friendly and welcoming. My mum settled in very quickly. Everyone at the home puts the happiness and care of the residents before anything else. The premises are kept spotlessly clean. During these tough times, all the family members receive weekly updates from the home and we maintain good contact with our loved ones.

The level of care provided by the team at Ashwood is unbelievably good. My mum moved in a year ago and after the completely normal settling-in period, she is doing really well there and the staff are all doing a wonderful job of looking after her.
I really must mention the superhuman effort the staff have put in over the Covid-19 period to keep their residents safe, happy and cared for. It's crystal clear that at this most difficult time. All of the incredible staff are doing everything they can possibly do to keep my mum and all of the other residents safe.
The new events manager is doing a fabulous job of keeping everyone active and engaged, with new activities coming online all the time, including a 'This is your Life' session, where residents can take a walk down memory lane, and the management team work incredibly hard to keep the families of residents informed about news from the home.

This is a brilliant place for my mum to live.

I could not recommend this home enough. My mum was in Ashwood and although this was the hardest decision I had to make, it was made the easiest decision by the quality of information I was given before she arrived. The administrator was very professional and had a very good understanding of everything I asked and was able to provide us with support with social services, as well as giving us all information we required about the home. We had a virtual tour and during this tour, I was shown my mum's room, and this was set up beautifully, I even got to meet the manager on call and she was professional and was very keen to get to know my mum and find out about her needs which was reassuring. I also met some of the staff on that day and they were friendly and they had great compassion. From the moment I saw the home and got to speak to the manager and administrator, that is when I knew this was home. Mum settled and the care was more than I could have wished for.

My husband has been in Ashwood for nine months now. The staff are extremely kind and caring. The new manager is to be praised as to the difference she has made. I was never able to contact or talk to the previous manager. The care through COVID-19 has been very good. to be able to see a relative has been arranged very well. I am happy with Ashwood and the staff.

To accept that Mum was no longer capable of caring for herself was hard. She was admitted to Ashwood on a "step-down" after leaving hospital. The first few weeks were tough, naturally she wanted to go home. There was confusion and asking "why am I here?" etc. These are situations the staff deal with every day, they settle the resident and reassure the relatives. As other families have commented, I do feel more at ease knowing how well she is cared for.

My mother and I have full confidence in the fact that the staff at the home looked after my dad with care and understanding during the lockdown period. The arrangements for garden visits are well planned. Staff were helpful when we were in contact during the lockdown. We like the idea of the monthly meetings online and hope one day to meet in person. Thank you, Ashwood.
