Ashlyns have been outstanding for my Dad who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's eighteen months ago. He is extremely tall and they went above and beyond to move a wall to fit in an extra-long bed (which they sourced), a higher shower and amazing redecoration and personalisation of his room. The care home is as much like a family home as it is possible to be - soft furnishings, pictures and personalised decoration make everyone feel welcome. The menu and activity programme offers something for all and family and friends are always welcome. During the Covid-19 crisis, the home have kept families informed and consulted and have acted decisively to protect our loved ones. I am so happy we chose Ashlyns for Dad, the staff are all so caring and highly professional - I can't recommend it enough if and when you need to make this tough decision. Although I miss my Dad I couldn't ask for a more loving, caring place for him to be - and I know he is safe and well cared for.
The care and dedication my mother has received during the Coronavirus crisis has been exemplary. The staff have, without exception, risen to the challenge with honour. My mother has remained safe and happy and we will be eternally grateful. I know that the effort must have been exhausting for them all.
I visited my mother-in-law last week for the first time since lockdown and continued to be overwhelmed by the standard of care and attention that has kept the residents free of the virus and in good spirits. I cannot praise all highly enough.
Ashlyns has done very well indeed, during the lockdown. The staff remain pleasant and courteous, eager to please and thoughtful. Standards remain high. The gardens look lovely. Constructive feedback would be improving the food - eg more veg, crispy chips etc. Also, more by way of high-quality activities.
Feel confident in the management and staff in protecting the residents. Communication with relatives has been excellent.
Lovely atmosphere. My mother is very happy and safe here. Lovely gardens, super cakes, well led.
Ashlyns Care Home has provided exceptional care for my mum. They have had a proactive response to the Coronavirus which has kept the residents safe and well. They are now providing options to visit and this worked successfully today. It was nice to see mum after so long.
My Mum moved into Ashlyns over a year ago as she has Alzheimer's. From planning her move to dealing with the unexpected challenges of Covid-19, the staff have been supportive and considerate with fast and efficient communication. Mum was made to feel extremely welcome and the on-going kindness and consideration of the staff, even just by saying hello and smiling as you or a resident walk down the corridor, makes all the difference to Ashlyns feeling like home.
All options marked as "Excellent" apart from "Value for money", a rating I doubt anyone would use for that question - even at half the price!
However, it is the warmth of the staff at the home which makes this a truly outstanding place. My mother is treated with dignity and respect but the staff also sense when she needs extra emotional support. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness that has been shown to my mother since.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashlyns. Fresh flowers in reception area too.
Very cheerful and caring staff with a happy atmosphere generally throughout the building. Excellent facilities, kept very clean.
The home is very welcoming, clean and secure. I found the staff to be very friendly, even though they were extremely busy. The residents seemed happy and the interaction with the staff was amazingly good. It is certainly one of the best homes I have visited and would definitely recommend Ashlyns Care Home to anyone looking.
My dad and our family have been made to feel extremely welcome by everyone at Ashlyns, from the manager down, all staff are amazing. The food is fantastic. My dad likes good old-fashioned traditional food and that's what he gets - his appetite has increased. The home is beautiful and clean. The environment is amazing. My dad is happy which makes us happy as a family. Nothing is too much trouble. Well done to the Ashlyns team - you are all amazing.
Ashlyns is very well run, with experienced and caring staff. My mother settled in well, after moving from sheltered accommodation due to reduced mobility. She was particularly keen on the food and enjoyed her interactions with the staff. Minor problems were addressed immediately and handled well. Ashlyns are keen to keep their residents active and mobile and activities are varied and engaging.
I cannot thank everyone at Ashlyns enough for looking after my mother in her final years.
The care she is now receiving is wonderful and she is being made to feel comfortable, safe and calm in her final weeks. Thank you, everyone, at Ashlyns.
My father was admitted to Ashlyns after a stroke in September. During his time there he has had excellent and professional care and support and has made good progress physically and mentally. The environment is clean and fresh - he loves the food and likes the choices he gets. The home is set in the beautiful environment. Staff are always helpful and courteous to us and kind and efficient with the residents. Very happy with the choice for him to come here.
Excellent home. Clean, warm, welcoming, friendly and safe. A positive atmosphere and staff who clearly care and take pride in their work.
Since his move, he has put on weight (he was losing weight before) and become more sociable.
Previously he spent most days just sitting in his flat.
He now takes his meals in the restaurant and sometimes joins in communal activities.
His appearance has improved and he now looks much smarter.
Staff are caring and helpful.
The family are very pleased with Ashlyns.
Ashlyns is a well-managed home with an exceptional group of staff. I cannot speak highly enough of the way my elderly father is being looked after here. The difficult transition from living alone has been sensitively handled and I am extremely grateful. Communication is excellent and I feel confident that my father is being well looked after 24/7. Visiting times are open and I have found staff to be consistently welcoming and helpful during my many visits.
Care at Ashlyns is first class. Residents are treated with dignity and great kindness. Main rooms are comfortable and the facilities such as the entertainment programme, hairdressing salon are good. Resident bedrooms are very comfortably furnished with private facilities. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with items from their home. All the carers are wonderful and very cheerful. There is a beautiful conservatory looking onto a lovely walled garden, where residents can stroll and sit out on sunny days. A 5* home.
