The staff were brilliant, everyone was so helpful and kind to both my father and to all his visitors.
She has gained weight over the months a good thing as she was underweight and not eating properly at home. The staff are always chatty and friendly and I feel I can approach anyone of them including the manager to discuss any concerns and to tell them how good things are!
After a fall left my dad too frail in his own home, we were lucky enough to find a place at Ashlyns Care Home. From the very moment we walked in, we knew that the care would be good but didn't realise how good. Dad was with Ashlyns Care Home for 13 months and he thought it was marvellous. They not only took care of dad but made us all feel that we had extended our family. The love and care shown to our family was outstanding and helped us in the knowledge that he was not only cared for but loved. Now that dad has passed on, I will miss seeing them all.
My mother has been a long term resident at Ashlyns. First in the care home and then in the dementia unit. My brother and sisters couldn't be more happy with the care and attention my mum gets. The staff are superb and very patient with mum. The rooms she has used are all spotlessly clean and well furnished and the food looks and tastes fantastic. I would definitely recommend the home to anyone.
My aunt has been in Ashlyns Care Home since 2007. I come every year from Canada to visit her. The care and overall standard is first class. The staff treat my aunt with dignity and respect and are fabulous with her. I have watched the staff with other residents and the same is true for them. The management and staff of Ashlyns are first class, in my opinion, are first class in my opinion. When come over and stay the whole day for a week or two at Ashlyns dining.
For the past 8 months that my father was in this home, he received the best care I could have wished for. He was treated with love and respect and during his final hours, the staff were there for him day and night, supporting and caring for all his needs. They were also really supportive to me and other visitors, providing endless coffee and snacks. I cannot stress how great they all were, from the management to the chefs, all were superb, caring and very loving to him.
My Mother in law has been a resident at Ashlyns Care Home for 9 years and she loves it. She is extremely well cared for and the staff are very professional, friendly and caring. Her health and medication are very well managed and we are always kept informed. The building is very well maintained and of a high standard and there is great attention to detail. Her bedroom is spacious, comfortable and kept spotlessly clean and has an ensuite toilet and wash basin, a window and french door overlooking a spacious courtyard. The laundry service is very well managed and we haven't had any issues with missing items. The food is of a very high standard and very varied and the dining area is always clean and fresh. Management and staff are always welcoming and keep us informed of any care issues. Stimulating entertainment is provided, including concerts, discussion groups, Bingo, Quizzes, visits from a local school and nursery as well as outings to garden centres, bluebell woods etc. Highly recommend!
The carer, mum and I went all through mum's care experiences; washing/showers, laundry, medication, and activities arranged by the home. Also talked about footstools (the home managed to get a more comfortable one). Established that mum didn't have any real problems with her care.
