I came for respite care. All staff were very thoughtful, kind and helped me get stronger. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything well organised. I would recommend Ashlyns.
Thank you very much for your positive review and comments. We hope you are gaining more strength and are home soon.
It really felt like we were all working together to care for Mum. I was very grateful.
Really pleased our team supported you and your Mum, and it ran smoothly.
I rarely feel so moved to write a review, but Ashlyns is an incredible and very special place. My dad had been very poorly and we were looking for somewhere for him to heal and get his confidence back after a very long time in hospital. As soon as I visited Ashlyns, I was impressed by the warmth, kindness and sincerity of everyone. And from the moment Dad arrived, the team at Ashlyns couldn't do enough to make him feel at home. It was like he was a member of their family, and as his daughters, my sister and I felt it, too. My dad only stayed for about a month on respite, as he is keen to try and live independently at home for as long as he can, but when he left Ashlyns, he said that it was the place he would want to return to if and when the time came. I cannot tell you how much that means, as Dad has always been very reluctant to go into a care home. I can tell that he was moved by the support, care and kindness he received. A heartfelt thank you to all the team.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure caring for your dad and we were so pleased that he thrived and felt strong enough to return home.
Such a lovely care home, my grandmother is so well cared for. Clean and light room. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating for requests, we recently held a 90th birthday party here. Thank you for all your support.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is wonderful that we can hold events like these again and have our residents have those extra special times with loved ones.
An outstanding caring and pleasant environment. Residents are treated with compassion, care and respect and the staff seem genuinely interested in treating each resident as an individual. We enjoyed an excellent Sunday lunch with our friend served in a lovely environment.
Thank you for your positive review we are very pleased that you enjoyed your meal with your friend.
My Mum received amazing care at Ashlyns, from the front-of-house team to the care staff themselves everyone was lovely and treated mum with warmth and the greatest respect. Mum has had to move to a nursing home now but I will always be grateful to the whole team for making tough times so much more manageable.
Thank you for your lovely feedback and we hope that your Mum's next home delivers the nursing care that she needs.
Since Mum moved into Ashlyns Care Home she has been cared for with kindness and great patience. There has been attention to detail and she has settled gradually which is a challenge at nearly 103! Well done.
Thank you for the review and your kind words, it has been a pleasure welcoming your Mum into our care. It was an exceptionally lovely moment seeing the brass band playing to her in her own room on Saturday.
I would just like to say how kind and caring all the staff are at Ashlyns. The atmosphere is one creating warmth and calm for the residents with fun and laughter too! Everyone who works there from the cleaners, kitchen staff, carers, office staff and those I haven't even seen make Ashlyns such a fabulous place. We are so delighted our mother is here. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely review we are pleased that you have gained the true experience of Ashlyns and the comfort this must give you.
Very kind staff always when we visit. My sister-in-law always says how kind the staff are to all. She is very well looked after.
Thank you for your very positive review and it is a pleasure to care for your sister-in-law.
During every visit, we are greeted by kind, warm staff. My sister confirms that everyone is kind and caring towards her. My sister looks healthier than when she moved into Ashlyns and is obviously eating and hydrating properly and taking her meds as she should.
It is a pleasure to care for someone who has dedicated their life to caring for others so this review is very much appreciated.
Feel well cared for by all the very helpful staff. My room is light and airy and I love the access to the courtyard and easy access to the dining room, lounge etc. Enjoy the musical events and outdoor excursions - not one for films though. Would like to have more conversations with residents as of course deafness and other ailments can be an obstacle sometimes.
Thank you for your review. We are having more discussion groups and regular meetings. We appreciate staff are still having to wear their masks which does not help with some communication.
We decided to use Ashlyns for my father as my mother-in-law was a resident at Ashlyns a few years ago - in The Orchards to begin with and The Willows after. She was very happy and well looked after right until she passed away there. Dad has settled in very well and is very happy. The staff are amazing, his room is lovely, opening out onto the courtyard. He enjoys the food and all the entertainment, which is very extensive.
Thank you for your positive review we are so pleased that you chose Ashlyns again and your father is pleased with the facilities and the care that he receives.
Mum was taken to hospital mid-morning on a Saturday for treatment to an injured foot. Suffice to say that Mum returned to Ashlyns at 02.30 the following morning. On arrival, we were greeted by the night staff. The compassion and tender care the team leader showed Mum in the middle of the night was exceptional. We were extremely grateful and appreciative.
Thank you for your review of the way our night staff was attentive and caring when you returned with your Mum in the early hours of the morning.
My mum moved to Ashlyns Care Home during the first lockdown and has been very happy there ever since. All the staff are unfailingly kind, helpful and patient, and have been amazing during what must have been a very difficult time for them due to Covid. Sadly, my mum is now at the very end of her life, and I am overwhelmed by the wonderful care she is receiving and the compassion everyone is showing her and me. She is treated with dignity, gentleness and professionalism, and I trust all her caregivers to act in her best interests at all times. I can't praise the staff highly enough - I really value their warmth and expertise during this difficult time.
Thank you for your heartfelt review; it has been a very emotional time for you, and I hope that the team helped you during this difficult time.
We continue to be delighted with the care and compassion that Mum is shown at Ashlyns, by all the staff. We very much appreciate the regular contact providing health updates and feel comfortable to raise any concerns we may have. The Jubilee Garden Party was a joyous event enabling residents and their family and friends to enjoy time together. We are looking forward to the forthcoming Music Afternoon in aid of a hospice and other events in the future.
Thank you for your review and kind words the Jubilee Celebration was an amazing afternoon and to see our residents enjoying themselves with the brass band and being able to have their loved ones with them made it even more special and it felt like normality had returned.
All staff are very kind and helpful and show patience and kindness to residents. Always helpful. On an occasion when I was visiting my sister and I sat in the garden and the care assistant who was on duty that day (it was a hot day) brought out a jug of cold water and glasses - that was an unexpected, caring thought.
Thank you for your review and your kind words for the team. Serving refreshments has always been part of our service so I am pleased you appreciated the cold drinks in this hot weather.
My mother came to Ashlyns in January 2018. It has been her 'happy place'. It has been her home, beautiful facilities, and the most wonderful loving care you could ever wish for your loved one. The Ashlyns team has become Mum's family, and she and all the residents are treated as such. The care has always been exemplary, and the humanity and compassion shown takes things to an even higher level. Staff have worked so hard in keeping everyone safe during covid, enduring situations, and government policy changes that have been foisted upon them with next to no notice. My darling mother passed away this week. The devotion, dignity and love afforded in her dying days was beyond anything I could ever have wished for. It gave such comfort to my brother and me, easing the pain of our loss in providing happy memories of her last moments. We can never repay your acts of love adequately. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you meant to mum - she loved you, as do we. You are absolute heroes!
Thank you for your very beautiful review. It has been an exhausting few years Your Mum was a wonderful person to care for and will be missed by the team. You can tell what a wonderful person she was and how her character has been passed on to her children as we have had such wonderful support from you and your brother. You will always be welcome and we are only a phonecall away for a chat.
My visit to see Mum on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 coincided with Ashlyns' day of reflection. It was lovely to be able to take Mum to join in the walk around the grounds along with other residents, their families, and the Ashlyns team. Then after, to sit in the new memorial garden. Mum was so happy to sit in the sun and catch up with other residents (she recently moved into Willows and had not seen some of them for a time). I also enjoyed meeting everyone who attended and being able to put faces to names. Thank you to all involved for making it such a lovely morning of reflection and seeing all the happy and smiling faces on behalf of Mum and myself.
Thank you for your review. It was a very special day and of course, the weather helped. It also felt like the old times before the pandemic came along. Let's hope the weather is kind and you have lots more special times with your Mum in the beautiful grounds.
My mother has been looked after with such care and dignity. It is a home-from-home feel for her. Even through the tough times during Covid, she has had excellent care and she is very happy to be there.
Thank you for your positive review it has been a very testing time but hopefully, we can gain some normality this year.
