Greenhill is a well established home within the community of Barnet and Potters Bar and is set in seven acres of beautiful mature grounds close to the exclusive Hadley Wood area. Greenhill was formerly a magnificent country house and family home to the "Oppermans" who resided here until the 1940s. Greenhill opened in 1989 and has been tastefully refurbished, extended and equipped to provide outstanding levels of care to the elderly.

Greenhill has a total of 67 rooms and residents have a choice of single, single en-suite, or companion bedrooms, all of which may be personalised and offer beautiful parkland views.

Greenhill offers residents a choice of lounges and dining areas including an exquisite oak panelled dining room, together with a sunny garden conservatory. The beautifully manicured gardens at Greenhill, with their landmark 200 year old cedar tree, offer outstanding views of the parkland and fields. The gardens are a safe environment, with easy access pathways and a garden log cabin and greenhouse for outdoor activities.

They market their home with a choice of dining rooms which allows residents with similar needs to dine together.

Greenhill offers long term residential care and short stay respite breaks for older people. The home specialises in the care of older people with dementia related needs and benefits from a safe and secure dementia environment. Care is provided by fully trained staff, 98% of whom are NVQ trained.

The home's Activities Organiser arranges a varied social calendar of meaningful, appropriate activities and entertainment, including trips to places of interest.

Greenhill is an excellent care home. Friendly, welcoming and caring. Nothing is too much bother. They respond quickly to request whether personal or by telephone. My mother-in-law is very happy here. They have a varied, regular, daily number of activities.

The care and attention my mother-in-law required was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. You could find a member of staff whenever you need them. So thank you so much for making her life comfortable to the end.

I like the atmosphere at Greenhill and I enjoy visiting. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and helpful if I have any queries. They seem to really care about their residents. There is a good balance of privacy and socialising for dad, and he loves to be entertained especially the singers! He loves the
food and is mostly happy!

We found Greenhill through a company following my mother's short stay in hospital. My mother had mobility issues and was largely confined to a wheelchair. We found the management and staff to be caring and attentive and did their best to ensure Mum was comfortable and her needs were attended to. They
built a good relationship with her and made her feel at home. As an old country house with extensive gardens the surrounds and interior of the house are well maintained. They ran activities every day and had twice weekly doctors visits, hairdresser and other services for residents. They were flexible on visiting times and accommodating when Mum needed to visit hospital or we needed to take her out by adjusting mealtimes etc. If we had one complaint it would be around their invoicing process which we found rather slow and opaque, but that was handled centrally and not by the local staff or management, who were totally focused on the care of the residents.

My parents visited Greenhill for respite care after a decline in health. The staff were superb in their care and attention, leaving me reassured when I wasn't able to be there.


Emails were answered promptly and helpfully, with action being taken immediately even on small things (like making sure

my mother's mobile was working when I hadn't been able to reach her) and I was sent honest updates and photographs whilst abroad.


The staff provided exemplary advice and assistance and at all times managed the situation in a sympathetic and understanding way.


Greenhill has a great atmosphere, lovely gardens and made all the difference in my situation by providing such great respite care at very short notice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

What a delight to visit mum and see how contented she is at Greenhill!
She's been there about 4 months now, settled in and made friends with residents and staff.
During a period of illness early on she had wonderful care. Some medical needs were picked up on and as she recovered she's really bounced
back. The family agree that mum is brighter and more relaxed than we have seen her since her stroke 20 months ago, and she's told me she's happier there than she was at home. That says it all!
Thank you all for making mum's life, and ours, so much better!

My father has been at Greenhill for over 4 years. Throughout this time he has received excellent care in the home. The staff know him and understand him (many of them were there when he arrived). Greenhill is a very happy, welcoming place and we enjoy our visits, in fact, it feels like a home from home
for myself, my wife and our dog. The food is good (I often stay for lunch) and the entertainment and activities are excellent. So a very good home run by an outstanding team of caring people.

The staff at Greenhill did everything they could to look after my mother and to help and reassure my sister and I at what was a very distressing time.


Anytime we asked to see someone, about anything, they would always have time to chat to us and any problems were resolved.


I think the team there

are very good indeed and my mother is now back home - much stronger after her stay at Greenhill.

We had to move my mother into a care home following a series of falls.
She is 96 years old and has settled in well.
The staff at Greenhill are amazing - so caring and thoughtful.
The home is extremely well managed by the manager who is so warm and welcoming.
The rooms are a good size and are all
ensuite.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean.
We know our mother is kept safe and looked after so well that we now have peace of mind.

Greenhill was the answer to a prayer. The manager strives for excellence in all areas yet still maintains a caring atmosphere. Every member of staff we met was wonderful and considerate. The home is situated in a beautiful environment. We were confident that mum was receiving the best care we could
have hoped for. Her last days were made particularly special as the staff went the extra mile to ensure she was comfortable and treated with great respect and dignity.
Honestly, we cannot fault any aspect of this wonderful home from home.

My uncle resided for over two years at Greenhill. He appeared very happy. We found the staff from the management, carers, nurses, house staff are all friendly, efficient and willing to answer any questions. Also to inform us of his health and any changes. Greenhill is set in nice gardens, new extra
parking makes visiting easier. The cleanliness and make over of rooms makes them very pleasant.

My mother lived at Greenhill for around 9 months and both she and us were very happy indeed with the home. The accommodation, food and activities were all fine and my mum loved the beautiful gardens but most of all, I would praise the exceptional staff who made her so welcome.
