As when I looked around Hyde Valley House to put my mum in a care home, I was so impressed with the home in every way. Staff and managers are so nice, they made us welcome when we looked around, it's so lovely and clean. I just knew from the first time that my mum would love it here. It is like home
from home and my family are so happy seeing my mum has been so happy here. We are all happy with the home in every way.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
After 3 years of mum being in Hyde Valley where she was looked after with love and compassion, always being treated with dignity, all the family welcomed at any time - day or night, staff trying their hardest to interest her in activities and later spending hours trying to get her to eat, so much patience!
No one ever got cross with her, we the family were made very welcome and encouraged to visit often and at any time.

When she became bedridden the staff were always in and out, talking to her just as though she was still able to reply, though she never did. Knowing she was fading away, staff would sit with her when we couldn't, even in her last hours with family around her they couldn't do enough to help us. My daughter was alone with her nan and one of the staff stayed with her as my mum passed away. She stayed until I could see her, for her help and compassion, I will always be grateful.

My family are so impressed and grateful for the care given to my mother. The whole setup of the home is a testament to the commitment of the staff and the excellent management. Bricks and mortar are irrelevant, the staff make this such a success and I cannot speak highly enough about them. Every single
staff member who has had any contact with my family has been truly caring, hardworking, supportive and sensitive to the needs not just of my mother but also to my elderly visiting father. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I thank them all. My mother is treated with utmost dignity and respect and is amazingly well looked after and the best that's possible is done for her. Activities are provided but there is a culture of heart and soul being put in to create the best experience possible. The recent Xmas activity fundraising fayre had many cakes and handmade and knitted Xmas decorations made by staff members. They didn't have to do this but they had clearly gone the extra mile. Superb.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.758)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.758) out of 10 for Anson Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Anson Court is calculated as follows: ( (169 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 198 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Anson Court is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 75 registered maximum number of service users is 15, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
