Overall Experience
My mother became a resident after a spell in various hospitals when it became clear she could no longer live at home. We were recommended to Prince Michael by a friend and when we visited to assess the home we had by far the most professional and understanding appraisal.
First impressions are very good with light and airy public rooms and gardens with happy residents chatting. There is a small bar and even an old Wurlitzer juke box in the lounge.
The care my mum received was second to none, with outstanding carers. Unfortunately she became quite ill quite quickly and the home provided excellent palliative care until she sadly passed away.

I have no hesitation in recommending Prince Michael of Kent Court.

I have a dear friend who started living at Prince Michael of Kent Court just before COVID hit us. I would without hesitation recommend this residential home to anyone. Things have been very difficult the last couple of years but the staff are quite simply wonderful and do all they can to make living at Prince Michael of Kent Court a good experience. The home is very comfortable and when possible there have been activities. Normal activities are building up again for those who wish to participate. The reason I have only given a 4* for food is that the portions aren’t that generous but I guess that’s normal.

Mum had a bad fall and hurt her hip. She came in for respite, but as she liked it so much she decided to stay. Mum informs my sister and me how lovely and helpful the staff are. She enjoys the meals and is very pleased with her room.

Due to the virus, normal activities are not as usual.

The facility looks like a country hotel. Absolutely no unpleasant odours.
Lovely meals, beautifully presented. Rooms are attractive and well set out.
The facility is spotlessly clean. All staff are professional, personable and very friendly.
Up to COVID, the activity schedule was amazing. Absolutely the finest care home I have ever visited. Grateful thanks to everyone at Prince Michael of Kent Court.

P.S. Handling of COVID pandemic has been 1st rate.

Since day one, my experience of this care home has been nothing but positive. A 'pod', a room divided by a glass screen, was introduced which has enabled me to visit constantly during the current Covid crisis - something that has been very important for my father. The most important aspect for me is hearing my father sound so happy and content.

Respite care provided for two weeks following ahead injury and loss of sight.

First class care and environment, however, no facilities to cope with blindness which proved frustrating in the evenings when fellow residents went to bed or to watch TV.

Mom went into the home in April. The staff are very kind and helpful and willing to do anything asked of them. There is always something going on for the residents in a very relaxed atmosphere. The family are so pleased that Mom is safe and well and looked after. Thank you.

I am delighted with the level of care my father receives at Prince Michael of Kent Court. From our initial enquiry, preliminary visits and the application process to when my father moved in, everything was conducted with the utmost professionalism and kindness.
The home is extremely well staffed. Everyone is courteous and there is a very positive, friendly atmosphere. Staff have the time to spend with each and every resident (and their visitors!) and consequently, they know them very well indeed. Nothing is too much trouble.
There is a full program of activities for residents and excellent support from the Association of Friends who hold regular additional events to which friends and family are invited. This all adds to the feeling of a community in which every member is valued.

Communication between staff and family is good and I can relax because I know that my father is being cared for in the best possible way, in the best possible place, by the best possible people.

Prince Michael of Kent Court is a care home in every sense. My father is cared for in every way. He makes few demands but his needs are met. He is treated with respect and when support is needed, it is done in an unobtrusive and dignified manner. The staff are kind and make us feel part of a family in dad's home.

Management is responsive to requests. Staff go out of their what to allay any concerns we may have and never make me feel I am a nuisance. We are so happy dad is in this home.

My mother has been at Prince Michael of Kent Court for two and a half years to date and has had excellent care throughout that time. She is calm and comfortable thanks to the dedicated staff team and the care they give her. She was a hundred years old in February and the Activities Organiser arranged a really splendid birthday party for her, which was shared with all the residents and everyone had a most enjoyable afternoon. The following day the Activities Organiser managed a birthday lunch for Mother's family members and all her guests were made to feel so welcome. Everyone commended the excellent facilities provided by the home in a light and airy environment with friendly, caring and welcoming staff members.

Overall, this is a very good care home indeed. Much attention is paid to the security and well-being of the residents, and the general attitude of the staff is friendly, helpful and cooperative. Several are quite outstanding in their concern and care, but I have seen none fall short of the desired standard. Food is plentiful, and generally of a high standard both in quality and presentation. Facilities are rarely used by my parent, who prefers her own company, but seems to be varied and much appreciated by others. I really have no negative comments, and can unhesitatingly recommend this home.

They are a delightful team of carers, always happy and smiling, watchful and with the utmost patience. Nothing is too much trouble. My husband often asks to see my car and sometimes a member of staff at the desk will come out with him to wave me off. Then divert his attention and gently take him back indoors. Other times, the carers have to contend with - and overcome - my husband's stubbornness about such things as going in the shower or having his nails cut.
