Vesta Lodge has a Review Score of 9.6 (9.595) out of 10, based on 16 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Vesta Lodge has 68 reviews.
Other reviews here mention the great facilities for residents - and my aunt is settling in well - but I wanted to focus on the wise and compassionate support that my family received from the manager at Vesta Lodge, which has made a huge difference for us. The manager's kindness was so reassuring for us at a very painful time, and her wise words have helped us to not only do what's best for our aunt but to take better care of her partner; she removed a lot of guilt and anxiety from this difficult situation (which were helping no one). It's the people that make these places, isn't it, at the end of the day, and we feel very lucky that this team are there for us. Thanks all!
Good day and thank you very much for sharing this inspirational story of your mother's journey with us. It is appreciated. We will continue to be there as and when needed, just call on us! Have a lovely day!
The admin staff are very polite and welcoming. The care manager is always willing to listen to us and to resolve any issues we may have. The carers are helpful and treat my husband with care and respect. The staff overall are brilliant. The rooms could be cleaner.
Thank you for your comment. We are delighted to have your husband stay with us here at Vesta Lodge. Wishing you a great day!
As purely a person visiting a resident, I have nothing but praise for the care she receives.
Thank you for your comment. Wishing you a wonderful day from the team at Vesta Lodge.
Vesta Lodge has been a very positive experience for my Mum and our whole family. I am so grateful that everyone has taken the time to get to know my Mum really well. I feel that she is always treated with dignity, kindness and respect. Thank you to the manager and all her team, particularly all the carers on Mum's unit.
Thank you for your comment. We are delighted to have your Mum stay with us at Vesta Lodge. Wishing you a great day!
My experience so far has been positive. My Dad came initially for respite as a family we decided his needs were better met at Vesta Lodge. He is safe, has a routine, food and contact with others. The staff have been supportive and available. I would like my Dad to have more exercise, he was previously very active so combined, his lack of exercise and three meals a day, he has put on a lot of weight. My concern is health implications. I have discussed this with staff. Otherwise, the placement currently meets my Dad's needs. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment. We are delighted to have your Dad stay with us at Vesta Lodge. Wishing you a great day!
Hot meals could be warmer.
Good day and thank you for your honest feedback, we would definitely discuss the temperature of the meals served with the Head Chef. Have a lovely day!
Clean. Lovely staff. Well-run.
Thank you for you comment. We are delighted to have your friend stay with us here at Vesta Lodge. Wishing you a wonderful day!
Very happy, very good and pleased.
Thank you for your comment! We are delighted to have your wife stay with us here at Vesta Lodge. Wishing you a wonderful day!
Our 100-year-old aunt has been in Vesta Lodge Care Home since January 2023 and we have been extremely impressed by the quality of care provided by the staff there. She is always clean and well-dressed and her room is always spotless. All the staff are caring and thoughtful and take time to talk to her and make her feel at home. Communication between the manager, carers and admin staff is excellent and they are all fully aware of how she is and of any issues she may have. She is very settled and very appreciative of how she is being looked after – as are we.
Thank you for your lovely review. Vesta Lodge is pleased you are happy with the care provided to your aunt. Have a wonderful day!
My mother has lived in Vesta Lodge for nearly three years. Whenever I have enquired, I have been given an update on how she is and how well she has eaten and drunk. Mum enjoys the meals. I have been informed by the care team if she has ever been referred to the doctor or had a visit from the district nurse. Mum enjoys having hair do's from the visiting hairdresser, the staff made a huge effort for her 104th birthday: dressing her in her special outfit as requested, providing a beautifully decorated cake, flowers, chocolates and a balloon. The manageress deputy manager and some carers popped in to wish her a happy birthday. All the staff are pleasant, polite and helpful when we visit.
Have a lovely day!
Very happy with the care and attention provided.
Good day and thank you very much for the review, we appreciate your thoughts. Have a lovely day!
We have been extremely pleased with the care and support my dad has been given. The staff are always so friendly, helpful and polite. We're impressed with the cleanliness of the home and the fact that it never smells, which can be the case in other homes. The staff are very efficient and always call should there be any changes in my father or any falls. We are in awe of how all the staff keep so cheerful, in what must be very exhausting and difficult circumstances. Thank you all. Food is fab too.
Thank you for the comments on our beautiful Vesta Lodge, we are extremely proud of the team there. If there is ever anything we can support you and the family with please let us know. Have a lovely day!
The care home is very clean and comfortable. It is generally well-maintained, and the amenities are good. The garden is very pleasant, unfortunately not so well maintained as in the past due to a lack of staff and input from relatives. We fully appreciate the difficulties arising from Covid and believe every possible care has been exercised. We know how hard they work and the difficulty in recruiting suitable staff. The management and care staff are excellent. We are very grateful for their care and dedicated service.
Have a lovely day!
My wife recently had a ten-week respite stay in this home. This is a truly wonderful home run by a very kind, caring manager and supported by a team of equally caring people. I thoroughly recommend the home.
On behalf of the entire team at Vesta lodge, thank you. This review has really made our day, may you continue to enjoy the service and do have a lovely day.
Mum moved into Vesta Lodge a few months ago following several falls and hospital admissions. She had previously always wanted to remain in her own home for as long as possible, but the helpful, kind, professional and caring staff and management have meant that she settled in really quickly and now prefers being at Vesta Lodge. She is now much better cared for than previously and much safer and more content. She is treated with dignity and the carers/management also work well with family members to make sure their residents receive the best possible individual care. We looked at a number of care homes before choosing Vesta Lodge and I am very happy with the decision.
Thank you so much for all those kind words, your mother is an amazing woman. Have a lovely day!
Since my mum arrived at Vesta Lodge at the beginning of March 2021 the manager and all the care staff have been so welcoming and caring to make her feel comfortable and so looked after in her new surroundings. She has settled in so well and looks amazing. She has taken part in activities and has also been able to sit in the lovely gardens due to the lovely weather. As a family we feel we now have peace of mind knowing she is being so well looked after.
Good day and thank you for the review, we are happy to hear that mum is enjoying being at Vesta Lodge, our team try to make all residents feel they are at home and treated as family. Activities are important to stimulate the mind and we pride ourselves on ensuring all residents are involved as much as possible. Thank you.
I am so relieved my husband is now at Vesta Lodge. The care, compassion and patience all the staff show him is so reassuring to a relative. He had a very difficult time before Vesta and I thought he would not settle easily but in the 3 weeks he has been there I am amazed at how well is doing. The Chef is doing an amazing job with his food issues, in fact, the whole team have made him feel welcome and are helping him adjust to a new way of living. The patience everyone shows him is amazing and I now have peace of mind knowing he is in the best place possible.
Dear Pat, thanks for your kind comments, we are happy to know that your husband has settled well with us. We have already noticed an improvement both physically and psychologically. Thanks for entrusting him into our care and we will continue to support him, yourself and the children. The care team...
I would like to thank all the care home staff for the way they are all looking after my mother in these very difficult times. My mother is almost 90, frail but in good spirits. She has fought off covid and has recently fractured her collar bone. The staff are looking after her well and keep me fully in the picture. Mum is pleased to be at Vesta Lodge and tells me how kind the staff are.
Dear Diane, Thank you for this kind review. Our residents are at the heart of all that we do. It is a pleasure to look after your mother and ensure that she and all our residents, are well cared for and happy living in our home. Thank you once again.
Vesta Lodge provides a very high standard of care to its residents. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and cleanliness is of a high standard. The communication with relatives is excellent. The manager will regularly telephone relatives to give personal updates. Her management throughout the Covid pandemic cannot be faulted. She keeps us fully updated and is always raising the spirits of her residents with her singing.
Thank you for your lovely review. Our residents are at the heart of all we do and we appreciate the helpful input from their families to support the care we provide. We acknowledge this vital partnership and will continue to work together to ensure that you have a say in the care of your loved one,...
My 96-year-old mother has now been a resident in Vesta Lodge for the last seven years. I cannot recommend this care home more highly. Both my brother and our families hoped we would be able to care for my mother at home, but this was not possible. Every time I drive away from visiting my mother, I am thankful that she is happy and content and so well looked after. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren love to visit because of the friendly atmosphere. The staff are caring and professional, and we are always kept up-to-date about her health and care. The home is very well maintained, and the food is of very high quality. I have observed over the years that each resident is treated as an individual, and while a care home can never replace their own home, the staff work hard to make it the next best thing.
Dear Christina, thank you for this lovely review. We are so pleased that you are happy with your mother’s care. At Vesta Lodge, we strive to provide the highest possible care and will continue to do our best to ensure that all our service users are well looked after.

Meet the Team (3)

I started my career in August 2017 as a Care Assistant, and I progressed to Home Manager, passing through all positions until my current one.
I believe in people’s values and respect. I love working with people from different cultures. Open and honest communication is very important to me, and I found that Rhythm Of Life is a unique approach to providing person-centred care.

The Deputy Home Manager shares responsibility with the Home Manager for running the home. Deputy Managers will each bring their own skill set to the home, some offering more assistance with the business side of things while others focus largely on care. However, whether they look at it from a business or care perspective, the focus of the Deputy is always to ensure that their home is offering the very best quality of life for our residents. Experienced and either holding or working towards their qualifications, Deputy Home Managers are capable and driven to provide the best of everything for their residents.

The Chef Manager organises every aspect of the catering operation and provides a safe, nutritious, quality service to our residents using freshly produced food. With a hands-on role, leading a team, they provide a quality catering service and help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents. Working with our residents, we help to create menus to meet their needs and suit their tastes.
