Always listened to and requests attended to quickly and cheerfully. Meals are adjusted if necessary to meet requests. The staff and management always welcoming, polite and respectful to my relative and myself. My relative is very happy to be a resident here and tells me of the kindness shown.

My mother went to Cornelia Manor for 2 weeks respite and decided to make it her home where she felt safe and secure knowing there was always staff to help when needed, and where she could socialise with others in the lounge also dine together or in her own room. The staff were always friendly and helpful
to visitors making us feel welcome. My mother was treated with care and compassion and always a smile from all staff regardless of their status. Thank you all.

I visit a resident at Cornelia Manor regularly and I always find the staff welcoming, always get a smile and a friendly welcome. The staff are wonderful with the residents. They are so caring and understanding, encouraging and helpful. The management team are always willing to talk and help with situations
concerning me about things related to the resident I'm LPA for. They're all fantastic! Keep up the amazing work you all do.

I have lived here now for three years and I have been extremely well looked after. The staff are excellent, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent, with a good choice of meals. If I have had any medical issues, I have been treated very quickly and monitored very well.

I am very pleased with the care provided and the everyday interactions I have with management and staff at Cornelia Manor. Despite staff changes, the high standards previously set have been maintained. I enjoy my visits, which may seem strange to say, but my relative is well cared for and comfortable,
what more could I ask for?

I have found all the staff really engage with my father and have his best interest at heart. My requests are readily dealt with including making a cake for his 100th birthday. he is very happy having all the things done for him that he now can't do for himself, which makes me happy and relieved.

I was very impressed by all the staff and facilities at Cornelia Manor. There is a real professionalism amongst all the staff - from the senior managers, carers and support staff. The facilities are very good and the social engagement between the residents and staff is very supportive and caring. I
believe that our next of kin received excellent care and support throughout her stay and I am very happy to recommend Cornelia Manor Residential Care Home.

My brother has been treated with respect, kindness and lots of consideration for his condition. He has had minor falls in his room which are all always reported to me and when there is doubt on the seriousness of the fall they inform the hospital - he is collected by ambulance, had a scan and returned
to Cornelia. The staff are friendly and courteous and there is generally a happy atmosphere in the home.

Exceptional staff! I have formed a good relationship with all at Cornelia Manor Residential Care Home over the time Mum had with them. They have done so much for Mum, it's been a huge weight off my mind knowing Mum is in such safe and caring hands. Very professional, all or any incidents (falls) dealt
with in a superb manner. They are truly deeply caring as well as compassionate and highly aware of residents' needs. Great team!

It's obviously a very difficult decision for a family to seek residential care for a relative. From the beginning, the staff at Cornelia Manor have made that easier. Their dedication and care throughout the pandemic has been truly humbling and I am continually impressed at the level of care they aspire
to provide in very difficult circumstances. I feel that they see Dad as a person and I know he really enjoys the friendly banter.
The management team set themselves very high standards and continually manage to smile and retain their senses of humour. I think this really sets the tone for the home in a positive way in terms of the atmosphere and recruitment of the care staff. I understand that many of the staff are long-serving which also contributes to the experience of residents and families alike and is a good reflection on the senior leadership.

The staffing family at Cornelia Manor really care about Mum and I've witnessed many acts of kindness when the carers haven't known I've been there. That's so important. Knowing she is loved is such a comfort.

My dear mum has been at Cornelia Manor for four years. I didn't want my mum to go into a care home but it became necessary. Mum settled so well because of the care and kindness of the fantastic staff at Cornelia. Mum has always kept lovely and clean, and the staff are so kind to Mum.

My elderly mother came to Cornelia Manor in December 2020 for a respite bed initially, following a visit to hospital after yet another fall at home, but after settling in she asked my sister and I if she could remain living there permanently. We've found the staff to be so caring and friendly and nothing
is ever too much trouble, especially during this Covid-19 period where the workload has been extra for them all. The manager and deputy manager always listen to any concerns we raise about our mother's health or dietary requirements and accommodate them. We couldn't have hoped for a better care home for our mother and have seen how content she is when we visit. We would highly recommend Cornelia Manor.

I was delighted when my mum was allocated a place here straight from hospital following a fall at home. I saw that Cornelia Manor had won a care award and was very impressed by the website/reviews. Initially, my mum wanted to be closer to her home - which she told us she could not return to - but I
assured her she was in a marvellous place and it was very convenient for her outpatient appointments. My mum was very frail when she arrived and soon after the care home went into lockdown due to Covid-19. The management and staff team were amazing the way they handled this challenge - a couple of them moving in for a few weeks to provide extra support so they could keep a close eye on vulnerable residents. Relatives were given regular email updates and since then, care home guidance has been adapted at each stage of the government guideline changes. I was so happy to finally meet some of the lovely staff when visiting my mum and was amazed how well she looked. Massive thanks to you all.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.426)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.426) out of 10 for Cornelia Manor Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Cornelia Manor Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.482 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cornelia Manor Residential Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.882
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
