I find the staff are a great team. Not always the case in care homes. They always welcome me and are gracious towards my Mother. Humour and dignity combined. The manager has earned their trust and work ethic.
Wonderful friendly home. Excellent management and care.
We recently attended the summer garden party at Cumbria house, where my Nan is a resident. It was wonderful, for my Nan to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, listen to some old music, and eat delicious food with her family was such a precious and memorable day. All of the staff are so kind, friendly, and welcoming and we know they look after and care for my Nan so well. We visit regularly and are always offered tea/coffee in the family room.
Very happy with the care and helpfulness of the staff and management. Kept well informed of my father-in-laws well-being.
If my wife has to be in care I could not think of any home that could be better than Cumbria House.
Friendly, caring, and helpful. Best in the area!
A huge thank you to the managers and all the staff at Cumbria House for caring for my mother. My family needed urgent respite care and from the first meeting, I felt confident that my mother would be looked after. She settled very quickly, it's a warm and friendly home. I especially liked the option to visit any time day or night without notice. I was always greeted with a friendly smile by the staff. My mother was always clean and tidy.
Residential care during my retirement years, supplying extra care and accommodation consisting of a clean bedroom, good and friendly staff, and management.
My experience so far indicates a very pleasant environment with excellent care staff and management.
The home is kept very clean and tidy, and the residents are well cared for.
The gardens are well-kept.
Excellent staff, very attentive and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. My Mum enjoyed her respite stay and received excellent care. A very relaxing environment with staff on hand when she required help and activities in the week she enjoyed joining in with.
Kind and caring staff, clean environment. Responsive to any concerns we have had regarding health, medical etc. Encouraging towards my mother to help her maintain as much dignity and ability as her dementia increases. This home provides excellent care helping us to cope better with the sadness of my mum's dementia.
My mother has been a resident of Cumbria House for almost 2 and a half years. I don't live in England so my part in selection of a home was done online. We chose Cumbria House as they rated highly for being caring. On my recent, first, visit I was not disappointed. The staff were welcoming, always smiling and my observations with their management of some of the more challenging residents showed how caring they are. Residents were treated with dignity, respect and in a sensitive manner. The manager is very approachable, listens to concerns and is quick to take suggestions for improvements on board. My mother is also happy, her hairdresser visits once a week, the kitchen are receptive to her meal requests and she enjoys the twice-weekly exercise classes - an initiative of the current manager. Cumbria House really is a 'care home'. Family and friends are made welcome and a cup of tea is always offered. I returned home from England feeling assured that my mother is being well cared for.
The staff are very pleasant and caring. I am always welcomed. The guest rooms and communal rooms are very clean and inviting.
I have found Cumbria House to be very clean and tidy, where all the residents are treated as individuals. The careers are a wonderful team, always happy and smiling and very focused on doing their best. Almost every time I arrive, I can smell lovely food being cooked freshly in the kitchen. Residents appear happy and look forward to their activities. They seem to lovely the keep-fit exercises, and it's so good to see everyone enjoying themselves.
My father has been a resident for just over two years. The management, senior carer has changed about three times but this manageress is brilliant, she is excellent at her job. The care for my father is extremely good and they all help him with his needs. We have been very pleased with the care he has. The staff are positive in every way. The rooms are lovely and the management always provides what is needed.
Special occasions, such as birthdays, are made a great fuss of. There is a nice garden at the back of the house, all we need now is some warm weather in order to be able to enjoy it!
My mum is in Cumbria House. She has been there for about 6 months. They are such lovely carers and my mum likes all of them. It's not too big of a home so it feels a bit like your own home but with people who do everything for them.
We visited Cumbria House today and were given a friendly greeting. We are very much hoping my lovely auntie will be settled here and I am sure we will enjoy our visits and time with her, fingers crossed for the next step.
Mum has been here for a couple of years now and loves it. Every member of staff are sympathetic to all mum needs. Mum has taken to staying in her room for most of the time and the staff do all they can to make sure mum's ok and doesn't miss out on anything.
