All staff are wonderful, I couldn't be happier with the care my wife receives.

The staff are extremely caring and do everything possible to keep my wife happy. It is reassuring to find that she likes being there and remains positive about the home.

There’s a great variety of weekly activities that Mum enjoys. Everyone is treated as individuals with their own likes, dislikes and preferences. The staff are all so kind, friendly and helpful. I have to mention the special care that is taken to celebrate events like Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and Mother’s Day. Our Mother’s Day tea today was wonderful! We are very pleased that Mum is settled in such a lovely environment which suits her so well. This gives us peace of mind knowing that she is safe and happy in your care.

I have nothing but praise for the team at Walmer Care Centre. Since Mum moved in there in October, the care and kindness shown to her has been second to none. I have been surprised by how quickly Mum has settled in, and I attribute this to the active engagement of the staff to make each day a fun one. I am able to visit whenever I like and also bring in my dog (who thoroughly enjoys the attention and food he gets from the other residents!) and importantly I am kept fully informed of all changes and incidents affecting my Mum. I feel comfortable asking questions and any concerns are quickly resolved. A great team!

So pleased with the care that my dad has at Walmer Care Centre. The staff are caring and attentive. I have peace of mind knowing that he is safe and well looked after. I am able to visit when I like and am made to feel very welcome.

The care for my wife over the last three years has been excellent. The staff are very caring and activities are very good. My wife loved joining in but sadly now she is bedbound. The cheery, friendly staff keep her smiling and comfortable. A fantastic team.

Very happy with Walmer Care Centre. My husband is made to feel safe and relaxed. The food is of a high standard and the staff are welcoming. If there are any issues these are dealt with promptly.

The staff are so friendly, kind, caring and compassionate, and know mum so well. The range of activities organised for the residents is amazing. Mum's happy and content living at the Mead, and I really can't recommend Walmer Care Centre enough.

Fantastic. My wife never mentioned home for the six years she was cared for. Initially, she looked forward to my visits until during the pandemic when the staff took great care of her. She was very happy and was cared for better than I could in any way at home. They kept her safe from Covid and ensured that she was comfortable and safe at all times. I and my family are extremely happy that we chose this home. Right at the end my family were by her bedside with frequent staff visits constantly checking on us all and providing refreshments.

My mother was in Walmer Care Centre for six years until she passed away on 10/02/2022. I could not wish for better care! The staff retention over the years has been amazing, which offered my mother good quality and consistent care. She was always happy and comfortable. The carers were with her to the end. I could not praise the home enough and am grateful Mum had the opportunity to be cared for there.

My mother-in-law went for a temporary rehab stay after a brain bleed (hemorrhagic stroke). We needed a care home urgently, and after a check of CQC ratings and from our local knowledge, we found that Walmer Care Centre had a room. What an amazing place, from the moment we arrived, such a professional transfer from car to chair to her new room, and the care carried on from there. They treated her as an individual from the moment we arrived, and they really cared about her. Having been in Hospital for a couple of weeks, this was a change indeed. She has now decided to live there permanently, and it is just so nice for my wife and I to know she is being well looked after by an amazing team. Thank you, Walmer Care Centre Team!

Mum recently moved into Walmer Care Centre, first on respite and now as a permanent resident. The family has been warmly welcomed into the community, and the care is excellent. We were able to go away on a 2-week holiday, knowing Mum would be well looked after and I had no worries about being away. Medical issues are dealt with before I raise concerns. Mum has settled in well and loves her sea view.

I think we were very lucky to find this caring place for my mother and I always feel welcomed by the staff.

My husband has been at Carleton Lodge for a year now and during that time, he has received such kind, compassionate care from the staff that he has recovered exceptionally well from a very low point in his life. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and loving and they work hard to meet the needs of each resident. During the lockdown period, staff arranged video calls and when possible, a wave through the window. I could not have wished for a better care home for my husband and I thank all the staff and management for their continued care and compassion.

Walmer Care Centre is my mum’s third care home and by far the best. The other two nursing homes have asked us to move mum due to her advanced Alzheimer’s, saying they couldn’t cope with her needs but after 8 months at Walmer she is a different person, much calmer, she is always clean and tidy and very well looked after. We are regularly kept up to date with what’s happening and nothing is any bother to the wonderful, caring staff. The home is very clean, safe, tidy. Snacks and drinks available all the time and great food too. I’ve looked around many homes around this area and this is by far the best care homes I’ve seen. Can’t recommend it enough.
