I came to see my great-godfather, who lives at The Old Rectory, and he was being really well looked after. It is good to see him happy and content and being looked after. Everyone seemed really nice and friendly.
After a stay in hospital, Mum had stopped mobilising and walking. With the encouragement and patience of the staff, Mum is active again. She has regained the weight that she had lost. The staff are professional and caring.
My aunt has been staying at the Old Rectory for a little while now. I visited and she was very settled and well looked after. I feel like the staff really understand what she needs and it is much better for her to be surrounded by people all the time.
My mum has lived at The Old Rectory for the past four weeks and so far I could not be happier. The Manager, from assessment, has understood my mum's needs, supporting her with the challenges moving to a care home brings. The team are so very kind, always smiling, always willing to help. As a family we are listened to and our opinions and requests promptly acted upon. This is a warm and caring facility that I would recommend to anyone looking for care.
I came to visit my uncle when I was in the area for the weekend. It was such an great trip being by the seaside again and the Old Rectory is a lovely setting. It has a wonderful charm that fits in beautifully with the area and has incredibly high standards and finishing. The staff were lovely offering drinks and seeing how we were and they seem to honestly love their job and love the other residents. I will hopefully come over again in the summer and take him out for an ice cream on the beach! All in all, it is a lovely place.
Excellent care and staff always smiling!
It was a hard decision moving my parent into care, but after a period of adjustment, they have settled well. At The Old Rectory, the staff are excellent in providing support and care. Very pleased with the hygiene and cleanliness in the care home. Feel reassured they are being well looked after.
The Old Rectory is very nice. All of the staff are very kind and the food is very good.
I am a regular visitor to a resident in this home and on my latest visit, as always I found the staff cheerful, friendly and helpful. The resident in question had recently suffered a fall but was clearly being attended to with meticulous care. The rooms are spotless and well-equipped.
Thank you all.
My sister was looked after for over eighteen months. She was treated very well and has since moved out to live at home again.
Moving my mother in to a care home was an extremely difficult decision. With advancing dementia, it became impossible and too risky to care for her at home. She's now been at The Old Rectory for over a year. I have total confidence in the excellent care and surroundings, with top priority given to her health and well-being. The carers are all superb, without exception. It's so reassuring that the vast majority stay at The Old Rectory for many years, meaning that residents get to know their carers well, and they, in turn, understand residents' individual needs. For relatives too, it's reassuring to speak with the carers and staff that we get to know. My mother enjoys the freshly made meals tailored specifically to her, homemade soups being a particular favourite! She has a beautiful, homely room. The staff have created a cosy, comfortable and welcoming home, always spotlessly clean. The Old Rectory is a caring, friendly community that you can trust. I'm able to visit Mum as often as I wish. I highly recommend The Old Rectory.
Highly recommend The Old Rectory. The support and care that my mum receives from all of the staff are excellent. It can be such a worrying time finding the right care home for a loved one but I knew as soon as I visited The Old Rectory (I visited several care homes) and met the management team that this was the right place for my mum. It is spotlessly clean with nice rooms, lounge and dining areas, even outside patio and garden. There is always some sort of entertainment/activities for the residents scheduled for most days. Individual requirements can be met and all of the staff are so caring and kind. My mum is 98 years old and from day one she has been very happy here, which makes me happy.
I cannot recommend The Old Rectory enough. Although my mother's time there was relatively short as she needed a nursing home later on, the care and attention she received was wonderful. The Old Rectory staff were always very proactive in sorting medications and making sure she was looked after properly. Although Mum was bed bound, she was washed, always clean, hair brushed and her room always bright and airy with Classic FM playing softly in the background. My mum has since passed away but please don’t hesitate to contact this lovely home for a loved one. I'm glad my mum went there and was cared for so well.
I want to thank everyone for the fantastic care my father received whilst in their care. My father was at a very low point at one stage and they turned him around. The food was exceptional, my father was clock watching until his next meal they were that good. They couldn't do enough for him. They didn't want him to go. Thanks again to each and every one of you, management included. I would recommend them 100%.
I would like to thank all the staff at the Old Rectory for taking such great care of my father. The attention he received whilst staying there was second to none, the staff were so kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble for them. There is regular entertainment for the residents if they wish to participate which my father enjoyed and in his words, the food is of an exceptionally high standard. Anybody needing care for a loved one, in my opinion, couldn't do better than the Old Rectory.
My uncle was at the Old Rectory for a short period of time and unfortunately, passed away recently. As a family, it was a hard decision to send him to a care home when we wanted him to stay in the house that he had lived in most of his life. But after seeing how he was at the Old Rectory, it was the best decision to send him there. He managed to have a much better quality of life for the period he was there and the care he received was far better than we could have given and much better than the carers that came to his house that didn't have the time for him. The Old Rectory was a godsend and our family will never forget what they did for him and for us.
The home staff have had strict rules on who should visit and who should come into the home, and every one of them played their part in keeping the home safe, slackening the rules only when safe to do so. The food is good and the entertainment is very good, and the staff are very attentive. All in all, we are very happy with the home and look forward to our visits.
Our Mum had lived in the area for over 40-years before mobility issues demanded that she move into a residential care home. The Old Rectory was an answer to her prayers on so many levels. It is local, has a tranquil setting yet close to the main road; so her friends could visit her easily as they passed by and, as a result, she never felt isolated. Her room was homely, spacious and welcoming and kept impeccably with the freedom to adapt it to her wishes. The staff could not have been more friendly, and she was exceedingly fond of them. They were also always alert to our Mum’s welfare - calling in medical assistance early to help avoid her health issues exacerbating. This, along with their excellent security procedures, gave us peace of mind that Mum was living in a loving and safe environment. What could have been a final, difficult period of her life was, in contrast, one of affection and contentment. We cannot thank or recommend The Old Rectory enough.
My aunt resided at The Old Rectory for three years. The care home is run like a large caring family home with excellent hard-working staff. My aunt was treated with care and respect at all times, and this made her final, very senior years, very happy ones. The team, work together very well, with excellent management staff. I was always made very welcome during visiting times before covid restrictions. The management has followed all guidelines during the pandemic and has coped fantastically during these trying times. I would happily recommend The Old Rectory to others.
