Very friendly, yet highly professional environment. The residents all seem well cared for, the decor of the home is bright and modern. Any queries raised are dealt with effectively and immediately. There seems to be a real buzz during the day with activities and outings. A lovely garden with easy access from the lounge. A modern lift for ease of access to all floors.

Overall Experience

On average I visited every week and was always welcomed by the staff and management. Staff encourage all the residents to join in with the activities but if they prefer to stay in their room or have a snooze their wishes are respected. Residents are treated with dignity and independence and self-reliance is encouraged. It is always a great upheaval to put a loved one into care but the staff work well to make the transition as happy as possible.

The way they run their home is excellent. The staff would help when they could or find someone who could help with issues.

Overall Experience
My Mother was a resident in the Old Rectory for 7 months until January 2016. During her stay she received excellent care.
She did not want to be in a care home and her anxieties and frustrations about this were treated with kindness and patience by all the staff. She had nothing but good things to say about the staff - but was sometimes irritated and confused by communal living.
Her general health was carefully monitored during her stay and her mobility improved considerably with the consistent encouragement that she received.
Family and friends could visit at any time and were always made to feel welcome. There were quiet areas available for a private chat or visitors could join in with the communal activities.
All the staff worked together to create a friendly "home-like" atmosphere - minimising any institution feel.

My brother, who has visited clients in care-homes over many years, found The Old Rectory to be one of the best that he had ever dealt with.

Overall Experience

The owners and their staff have been very caring and professional in the way that they have looked after my husband since he became a resident. I am welcome to visit with family and friends at any time and always find my husband clean and content. The staff try to encourage him to retain mobility and awareness despite his dementia and have even provided him with specific activities to stimulate him.
