I found The Old Rectory purely by chance. My mum started here with the odd bit of respite as I was her full-time carer. Mum became a permanent resident 4 years ago. Sadly she passed away recently. I always felt assured I'd found the best place for my mum. The home was always spotless and the staff really care about the residents. Communication has been excellent. Mum has been so well cared for, it is thanks to the amazing care she received that her final moments were so peaceful and dignified. It is a small, family-led home and is so cosy. The management team runs it like clockwork and the carers work tirelessly and with care and attention. Thank you for looking after my dear mum so well.
My sister-in-law lives here, but I seldom have the opportunity to visit her as I live so far away. However, during this current pandemic, I have been incredibly happy with how the manager has kept families in touch. My nieces send on weekly emails that the manager writes that explain how well everyone is doing and how they are keeping everyone happy and safe. The emails are very genial and make me smile when I read them. Also, the Facebook page is a great addition so I can see photos of my sister-in-law and what is going on. Well done to everyone involved!
I stayed at The Old Rectory for eight days having been discharged from hospital for a serious chest infection (Not Covid 19 - tested clear). I was still very shaky and unsteady. I had suffered a number of falls during the past year. In spite of Covid, all the staff were extremely friendly, caring, patient, kind and very professional, despite having to wear masks all the time. Nothing was too much trouble. Overall, I cannot praise them highly enough. My room was lovely, spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a large LED TV. Free wi-fi throughout the whole home. I had a spotless en-suite shower room which was ideal. I had a lovely view of the church cemetery across the road. On a serious note, overall it was perfect. Food was excellent and plentiful, all fresh and sourced locally where possible, with plenty of tea and drinks served to your room, between meals. Overall I cannot praise the home highly enough. It has beautiful large gardens to walk in. I give it 5 stars.
My mother is currently in The Old Rectory and is very happy with the care provided. I have also dealt with a number of staff, including the manager and everyone has been nothing but helpful. I would also say that although the cost is not cheap by comparison to other parts of the country it is not over expensive.
excellent relationship with the staff, who are very accommodating. We phone her several times a week, but she doesn't like to talk for too long as she is always
anxious to get to lunch and her social life!
The manager and staff are very caring and understanding of any problems she might have. They contact us quickly should there be any problems.
The home was very helpful clean with lovely staff my husband was looked after very well. We could not have had better treatment.
Unfortunately, her health has deteriorated this month, but ALL the staff have been fantastic in looking after her and me. They are so kind, considerate, compassionate, and patient. Nothing is too much trouble.
I am so glad we chose The Old Rectory for my mother. A truly happy home from home.
My Mother in Law has been a resident for just over a year. She was very apprehensive about having to give up her independent living but the Management and Staff have helped her to adjust and she is now content and relaxed. She has no complaint about the food and is always complimentary about the staff who she considers as friends. Entertainment is laid on in the lounge on a regular basis and a fortnightly Church Service is held for those wishing to participate. I would be happy to recommend The Old Rectory to someone who is having to make the difficult decision of having to find full-time care for a relative.
My mother spent 3 years in this most wonderful and caring care home. Her sister, my aunt, was here 5 years. They were both very well looked after, my aunt especially so in her final months. Everyone working there, in any role, that I met over the years has impressed me with their caring attitude. The Old Rectory - I salute you. Thank you for caring for them.
My mother was a resident here for 5 weeks of respite from 9th April to 14th May 2018. She was very nervous about going into respite. The staff were kind and supportive of her encouraging her to mix, sitting with her, talking to her and making her feel at home.
My mother has said she would be happy to go again at any time.
My mother is being very well looked after and has made friends with all the staff.
The management is always very helpful and available to speak to about any concerns I have. They have gone to great lengths to ensure his medical care I.e hospital appointments etc have gone smoothly. They always offer advice and help about ways to improve my father's quality of life.
My father is happy and feels safe and secure. I am always happy with my father's care and would recommend The Old Rectory.
The home is run with the welfare of the residents uppermost in all the staffs' minds, they always have a smile on their faces and speak very kindly to the residents.
The home is very clean and tidy and anything requiring attention is dealt with promptly.
There are activities organised nearly every day and the staff encourage the patients to take part and the staff also join in themselves.
The food seems to be of good standard and the residents have a choice and enjoy it.
All the staff and management were caring and friendly, catering for all her needs and giving her every attention.
We would highly recommend this care home.
A well run home with a good local reputation. Rooms adequate but could do with the addition of showers.
Mum was happy and well cared for over the last eighteen months and all the staff and management are very caring and compassionate at all times. The Old Rectory has a lovely atmosphere and is warm and very clean, the food is good and there are lots of activities for the residents, family and friends are always made welcome at any time.
This is a small privately owned care home which has a wonderful and caring atmosphere. My father lived here for almost six years untill his death and he was very happy, with wonderful considerate staff to look after him. We were always made welcome when we visited and were fully informed about his welfare and activities. We would higly recommend this care home.
My mother is happy and well cared for. The management are helpful and obliging. The staff show care and thoughtfulness when required. The overall cleanliness of the care home is excellent and they cater very well for everyone's needs.
A wonderful residential home, very proactive with activities and inclusion of residents. A wonderful setting, lovely garden, fantastic and friendly staff. Epitomises what a residential home should be.
The staff are very kind and helpful and the management are always ready to help in the unlikely event that we have a problem
We are very happy with the situation as is he.
The home is very clean and is kept warm even in the coldest weather
Tom is well looked after even though he is mentally failing.
