I have been here 4 weeks all staff very nice we have regular activites ,ie football and singing, the staff work hard to make sure we are comfortable, nothing is too much trouble, although a care home it more like family, also we are encouraged to let our friendship grow anybody who follows the facebook page will know me as the lady in the video.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's wonderful to hear that you've settled in so well and that you're enjoying the activities, we're so please you feel at home at Hazeldene. We love your video and it brought a smile to all of us to hear about your lovely friendship. Thank you for sharing your experience and for being such an important part of our community!
Mum's room was ensuite and quite large, with a choice of chairs.
The food was extremely good. The only negative was that Mum was given cheese (twice that I saw), even though I had advised staff that this may cause a migraine.
Mum went home by ambulance, without her Zimmer frame, her prescribed nutritional supplements, and a new pair of trousers I had bought her. To their credit, Hazeldene returned the frame and supplements promptly, the next day. (We had been asked to take Mum's frame in, as it would fit her height better. However, she was never using her own frame when we visited.)
Although Hazeldene had been informed of when Mum would be collected to return home, the carers were not aware, so she was not ready. They had to pack her things quickly, which may explain the missing frame, supplements and trousers (which never turned up).
Despite a few negatives, overall I rate the care at Hazeldene very highly. The staff were amazing!
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your mother's stay at Hazeldene. We are delighted to hear that you found our carers to be kind, patient and exceptional, and that your mother was comfortable and enjoyed the food provided. Your kind words about our team are greatly...
But in the time we have been here I cannot praise the staff enough.
Thank you to each and everyone of you that looked after my mother so well.
This care home is run extremely well and communication is excellent.
Thank you for the lovely feedback Tina, we are so glad that you are pleased with your Mothers care and that the staff and the running of the home has stood out to you.
If I could give Hazeldene more stars I would. The care my nan received was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately she was not there long, but the staff treated her with dignity and respect and were so caring. We knew she was in safe hands. Even when she passed away the staff and nurses were absolutely lovely and I can't thank them enough for the care they gave her throughout. Thank you.
Thank you for your heartfelt review. We are deeply sorry for your loss and extend our sincere condolences to you and your family.
It means so much to hear that your nan felt cared for with dignity and respect, and that our team could provide comfort during her time at Hazeldene. Your kind words will be shared with the staff, who will truly appreciate knowing their care made a difference.
Upon arriving there to visit her I was greeted by staff who were smiling and making me very welcome
My mum was very poorly and was treated with kindness care and expert nursing she was quickly seen by the doctor a care plan was put in place the care staff were attentive and visited her room regularly as did the nurses on duty they all made her feel safe and listened to she had a motion sensor was placed in the room to alert staff of any movement especially at night and they attended quickly
my mums health deteriorated and she was placed on palliative care I cannot praise enough all of the staff who looked after her they kept me fully informed when she had DKA she refused to go to hospital so they treated her there and respected her decision
My mum died 5 days later in a calm atmosphere with no pain
This is a special place people are respected loved and so are their families
Thankyou
Thank you kindly for the review, especially at such a time as this. I am glad you received all the treatment and support you needed and that our staff did all that they could for you both. Our heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. It was a pleasure to care for your mother during her time with us.
There are plenty of fun & interesting activities for residents & the general feeling of the home is welcoming & cheerful. The nurses are very thorough & treated my Mother's Lymphoedema in her legs, until it was no longer a problem. We have always been kept informed of Mum's progress & the carers have got to know her well, so she felt secure & valued here.
If we had any problems, there was always a solution & things were looked into straight away.
Mum loved being part of the day to day life at Hazeldene & had company whenever she needed it, as well as the privacy of her own good sized room, with a lovely view over the fields, from her window. She really loved the gardens & woodland walks.
Mum passed away peacefully at Hazeldene in January.
Thank you for sharing such a touching review and for entrusting Hazeldene with your mother's care over so many years. We're truly pleased to hear that she felt secure, valued and happy as part of life at the home and that our team was able to support her health needs with compassion and care. Your...
My father came to stay at the end of November and the staff have been superb. Very caring to the residents and welcoming to us as family of the resident. Unfortunately my father has recently passed away and the support for us, care and dignity for my father from every member of the team was exceptional.
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family, your Father was loved by all at Hazeldene in the short time he was with us. Thank you for your kind words regarding the care at Hazeldene. It was our privilege to care for him and to ensure he was treated with the dignity and respect he deserved.
Literally cannot fault the care or the staff here! They go above and beyond and the improvement my nan has made now is so much better than when she was at home, the staff are lovely and the way she's eating now is amazing! The food, the staff, all fabulous.
We are delighted in the improvement we've seen in your Nan during her time with us. We thrilled to hear that the dedication of our team right from the Kitchen through to Care staff is shining through. Many thanks for the review!
I've only been to Hazledene House four times to visit a relative that sadly passed away this week, what i found in my few visits is a place where the staff are totally professional and very caring indeed, they will chat with you if you have an inquiry, and put your mind at rest when needed, no words can thank these wonderful people for the love and care they gave to my Brother, From the bottom of my Heart, Thank you so so much, you are all Angels.Xx
We are so glad we could provide the care your Brother needed in his final weeks, as well as comfort to your family during this difficult time. Thank you for your kind words, it means so much to us.
The care at Hazeldene House is exemplary in every way. My husband was treated with care, compassion and dignity throughout his final days. The staff checked on him regularly and ensured that he was free from pain. They also found time to look after me. I can't thank them enough.
Thank you so much for the very kind feedback. I know I speak on behalf of the whole team when I say it was a pleasure looking after your Husband, when he smiled it would light up the room. I remember meeting you for the first time, knowing how worried you were about what the future held for your...
The staff who provide the care know my mother and have a positive relationship with her. We are always made to feel welcome. We are regularly and promptly advised of any concerns. The staff are keen to take my mother into the grounds regularly, very beneficial to her mental health.
Thank you for your review, we are delighted to hear that your family feel welcomed and well informed. We are glad that your Mother has formed a good relationship with our staff and is benefitting from use of the grounds.
Hazeldene House care home looked after my Dad for a few weeks after he came out of hospital until he passed away. The staff are so caring and go above and beyond to look after all residents. I cannot recommend them enough- we are truly grateful for all they have done for our family xx
Thank you for the lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that you were impressed with our staff and that we could provide the care he needed during those weeks.
Sadly my dad was only a resident at Hazeldene for a month as his dementia was very advanced when he was admitted. I don't live nearby but visited him every day for the last week of his life. I had no previous experience of care homes and a pre conceived idea that they would not be very 'caring'. Well - I couldn't have been more wrong. The care, love and compassion that is shown to every resident and visiting family members by each and every member of staff at Hazeldene is truly exemplary. We couldn't have wished for a better place for our dad to be cared for. The setting is beautiful and very peaceful and calming. The job that the carers have to do is, in my opinion, one of the hardest jobs you could imagine - we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the staff - you are all amazing people xxx
Thank you so much for your kind words. Our staff are the heart of our home, it means a lot to hear that their hard work has been recognised and has contributed to changing your perception of care homes. We all send our deepest condolences to you and your family at this time, we will miss Dads wonderful smile.
Hazeldene House is amazing my dad was extremely poorly when he arrived not eating or drinking anything- now he has gained weight and is receiving first class care and nothing is too much trouble I cannot thank them enough, also the support I get as a relative is outstanding.
Thank you so much Hazeldene House.
Thank you, the improvement we have seen in your Dad is a real testament to our teams care and dedication. We are so pleased that we could make such a difference and that he has settled in so well. We are always here to support you, we aim to alleviate the stress and worry that relatives so often feel prior to arrival.
My sister and I found it difficult leaving mum to begin with, but now we see her happy and content, she is treated so kindly and with dignity that we have no worries about the standard of care she receives.
Thank you for the kind review, we are so glad we could help when you needed it and that you feel comforted by the standard of care. It's lovely to see that your Mum is happy here with us, and that she has bonded with our team.
Mum went into Hazeldene House for 6 weeks respite care after having a fall at home and breaking her shoulder. Mum was unable to get the 24 hour care she needed where she lived and we were told that we would have to find somewhere for her within 24 hours. Hazeldene House came up trumps and mum moved there the following day. The staff were amazing and they made mum and my sister and I very welcome. They have been very supportive in all of mum's care and mum now is getting over her broken shoulder. We have made the decision to keep mum there permanently now as we know she is safe and well cared for. Hazeldene House is like a family.
We appreciate your positive feedback, thank you. We are so pleased that we were able to act quickly, and be there to support your Mum just when you needed it. It's great to see that Mum is on the mend and that you've all become a part of the Hazeldene family.
I was very apprehensive when my husband had to go into care, I needn't have worried. He settled very quickly and the staff have gone above and beyond. He is so well looked after and the staff genuinely care about the welfare of all the residents. Any medical problems have been quickly addressed. My family have said what wonderful care he gets. Thank you.
Thank you for the lovely review. We are so glad we've been able to alleviate your worries and provide the level of care your husband needs and deserves.
My dad has thrived since being in the care of Hazeldene House. We enjoyed a fantastic family meal with my dad on Christmas Day where the staff made it a wonderful experience. I cannot fault the care he receives.
We are so pleased to see how far your dad has come since arriving at Hazeldene, it has been a pleasure for the team to have been able to support him through this period in his life. We are glad that our team could make Christmas special for your family.
The Manager and Administrator are always available. Going into care is traumatic for both user and family and I thank Hazeldene House for making it as good a transition as is possible.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased that our staff have had a positive impact on your partners wellbeing and that we have been able to support you throughout the transition to Hazeldene. It so wonderful to hear that your partner has built a bond with his carers that brings him happiness and comfort.
Thank you to all of you for helping me to take care of my dear soul mate.
We are so glad we've been able to care for your husband in a way that enables you to feel relaxed during this difficult time. Thank you for your kind words.

The relationships I’ve built with staff, residents and families are the part of my role I love most. Seeing trust grow and knowing people feel safe, heard and valued makes every day meaningful. Working in care is my happy place, and I feel proud to lead a team that treats every resident with dignity, kindness and respect. Our doors are always open, you’re very welcome to come and look around, meet the team or simply have a chat with us at any time.

As the New Resident Manager, I will show you all that Hazeldene House offers, providing all the information and answers you need, to reassure you through the transition of your relative into their new Home. I will ensure the smooth organisation ready for your relative's arrival, and assist with the paperwork and funding.

I’ve been part of the Hazeldene team since December 2023.
