My father in law was very reluctant to let his wife of 66 years go into a care home and only first agreed to a 3 week respite care. He is 90 and caring for her with Alzhimers, but not after seeing how much care she is receiving from the excellent staff he has now decided to have her stay. The staff are very tentative to her needs, very patient with her and the level of care is brilliant. We are kept informed of everything that happends and dad couldn't be happier. 5 stars all round.

My Mum stayed in Longlands for 3 weeks as an emergency placement. The care team were flexible, quick to learn Mum's needs , friendly and caring. The Care Home Manager Louise, was empathetic to our families journey and played a part in supporting Mum and helping us to secure a permanent care home placement. Thank you Louise. Longlands has a family atmosphere where the residents appear happy.

Thank you Longlands for your care and support for our Mum.

Thank you very much.

This is my husbands 4th respite stay and after picking him up he told me he would be happy to go back to Longlands. He refused to return to previous care homes, so I know he was happy there.

He said the staff were good and liked them all. Longlands will definitely be one of our two choice for any future respite.

Our dear Mum joined the Longlands family in 2017 aged 92.She sadly had altzheimers and vascular dementia.
Right from the start,we were very impressed with the dedication of the Manager and staff,so caring and kind.
Mum had a great choice of activities, and residents were always encouraged to join in if they wanted to.But if not, there were plenty of quiet areas to relax, apart from their comfy bedroom/sitting rooms.
We always ,as a family, felt very welcome ,and often took our visits in one of the sitting room areas where we had our lovely cups of tea that mum enjoyed so much.
The food was amazing, and all cooked fresh on site,so tasty, and nutritious, and catering to all needs,as mum was on a soft diet.
As mums condition deteriorated, the staff went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable.

We sadly lost our dear mum in May,and were able to spend precious hours with her after she passed, in the privacy of her bedroom, where the staff would quietly check on us every so often,so caring

From the minute we arrived at Longlands Care Home with my father-in-law we could feel the warmth and friendliness. We were all made to feel welcome at any time. Staff very friendly every time we visited which was two or three times a week. We could see in the short time he has been there that my father-in-law was thriving. He enjoyed going into the lounge with other residents or sitting in the garden. He loved going out on a trip to the local farm. The whole team is very caring and want to ensure the happiness of the residents.

The friendliness & patience of the staff is amazing as nothing appears to phase them, I have nothing but praise for their hard work. My dad has been in residence just over a week and the energy and positivity within is infectious. Dad has lived alone for quite sometime his small village lifestyle seemed to suit his life style. He has moved into Longlands and although he fines it a bit noisy at times, he enjoys the various social activity in the day room. His appetite has always been good and steady but much to my surprise he is eating food he has often told me his dislikes.

On the manager's return from annual leave I arranged a meeting to talk to her about mum.
Everything was well explained including referrals, medication changes, funding and other issues such as attendance allowance and state pension continuation.

Very good meeting and home manager.

My mother was briefly a resident at Longlands, awaiting a transfer to a care home nearer to her home town. I was so impressed with the welcome given to both my mother and myself during her 3 week stay.
The atmosphere is happy, homely and caring - all the staff without exception were friendly, kind and professional.
The communal areas are clean, bright and welcoming. The residents appear to be happy and mix well. There are plenty of activities to engage and motivate them.
Communication from staff was very good and I was kept informed at all times of any issues arising.
I have no hesitation in recommending Longlands as a well run, warm and welcoming home.

I would like to thank all the staff for caring for my mother so well and for making her brief stay with you a happy one.
