A fabulous home! The manager and staff have helped us navigate a difficult placement and given us good help to help her settle in.
They have gone to great lengths to understand what she wants, to make her feel secure, and to give her the food and environment she likes.
They also have lots of activities, so she can wander around chatting to folk, and also go on trips if she wants, go dancing, watch films, sing in a choir and they have regular doctor visits and good care in the home when inevitably she falls or is ill, without having to go to hospital.

Cannot recommend it too highly.

This was my first experience visiting the care home, I think that the social rooms were well decorated and stocked with coffee/tea, they were clean and tidy. I would like to note that all the care staff I met were polite, busy, helpful and very visible in the home. I can imagine that the work for you all is very challenging, but for me, it was very reassuring to see first-hand your team operating very professionally and respectfully towards all the residents.

We went to take some post to a neighbour and stayed about half an hour. The home was well-decorated for Halloween. Signing in and out was done promptly. The neat, cheerful staff were busy but kind. We enjoyed the manager's conversations and we're happy to recommend the home when she asked us to.

Dad had a wonderful stay again. Such an immaculately clean home. It was decorated brilliantly for Halloween. All the staff are always so friendly and caring. The manager is always so helpful and understanding of Dad's needs ensuring they are met whilst he's in respite. The activities at the home are amazing too. So many different activities planned. Thank you for inviting myself and my youngest to join Dad and you all for fireworks. It was such a lovely night.

I have power of attorney for a resident I have known through my church for several decades. She has never been considered easygoing, and when she was admitted to care after several strokes, because she had lost capacity to live at home with carers we thought that the care home staff would have an uphill struggle. She has settled into Longlands brilliantly. The manager and the carer team have done an excellent job of meeting her needs, and gaining her trust, to the point where she is happiest at Longlands and disinterested in going out. One example of this is that when she wandered in the night recently, which sometimes happens, rather than try to press her to return to bed, they put a film on the big TV for her to watch in the living room and covered her up when she fell asleep on the sofa. Well done to everyone at Longlands.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We all were very emotional reading it. It's great to hear how well she is doing here at Longlands, she certainly has fitted in well and she's a pleasure to care for. The staff are so thrilled to read the very positive feedback, thank you once again.

Mum has been in Longlands since May 2023 and she has not complained about anything. When asked she always has praise for all the staff and eats all her meals as there is always a choice. The staff always answer any questions I may have about my mum's care and well-being so I am happy leaving Mum in their care.

Mum was originally at Longlands for emergency respite care. Since then Mum has been diagnosed with dementia, and assessed as needing 24-hour care within a care home. We hope that Longlands will soon become a permanent home for Mum. From the time Mum arrived, she was made to feel welcome and safe. The staff are very kind and attentive; nothing is too much trouble for them. The manager, and the admin staff and care team, have been amazingly supportive to our family, and they have helped us through a very stressful time by providing reassurance, plus invaluable advice and assistance with the stressful process of applying for a full-time care placement for Mum.
Mum is well looked after, and she likes to stay in the communal area, as she tells us that she feels safe with the carers. There is a lot of interaction between carers and residents and plenty of activities.

We are always offered drinks when we visit, we feel welcome, and we are kept informed about Mum's care.

I visit my aunt fortnightly and find the home pleasant, staff-friendly and smiling. I was disappointed that my aunt does not have a shower and toilet facility in her room. Which means for her age of 97 it is very difficult for her to use the bathroom opposite.

My sister has now been a resident at Longlands for over 3 months and we couldn't have been happier for the difficult choice we had to make. My sister has been very happy in her own flat for over 20 years but eventually needed 24-hour care. After reviewing 2 care homes, we chose Longlands who had very, very good reviews. My wife and I had a good feeling when we were shown around all the rooms, lounges and facilities were beyond our expectations. Our final thought is that Longlands has an excellent team of carers and management with a view of continually improving standards.

I have been visiting a close friend of mine with Alzheimer's at Longlands, weekly since September 2023. At the time there was a problem with some of the CQC ratings which were not good. Since the new manager became manager at Longlands, these ratings have improved hugely because she has made radical changes and updated procedures and record-keeping. She takes an encouraging view of the staff and trains them properly. Generally, the staff are excellent, with a positive and happy attitude towards their work. They function as a family to the residents. I like to take my friend out each week, and give a shower and a phone call abroad. We sit together in one of the lounges and do a jigsaw or watch TV. I check the name stickers on all clothing every week, otherwise clothing can go astray. The home is cheerful and comfortable, the size of the room is good; the staff are reliable about administering medication. All good! We feel very lucky to have a place there.

My mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's Dementia, was moved to Longlands just before Christmas for emergency care until a long-term home can be arranged.
We have found the care and facilities very good in this home, in particular, three members of staff who have been very helpful when speaking in person, over the phone or by email.

It is stressful for us not being able to visit very often, and it is reassuring to know Mum is being looked after in a safe and comfortable environment.

As the daughter of one of the residents at Longlands, I am extremely happy with the changes that have started happening in the last two months. If you had asked me to score before, then I would have marked it a one, as I was extremely concerned with the level of care provided for my mother.
She is now interacting more, going out on trips and has completely changed.

Keep up the great work.

Both my parents were sent to Longlands by the council social care for a fortnight's respite care and assessment for their ongoing needs.
They were put in separate rooms which disturbed them both as they had not been apart in 63 yrs.
The first week the home complained about my mother's nighttime wandering.
My father suffers from incontinence and as there were no facilities in his room and as his short-term memory is bad he never found the toilet down the hall. We very often found the waste bin in the room had been used to relieve himself. After a week he was provided with a commode but when we visited it was always full.
Mother needed prompting to eat. Unfortunately, this was never done and witnessed on many occasions of her food being placed on her table in front of her and then being cleaned away an hour later intact.
Due to this, she became very weak and unable to walk unassisted.

This led to mother being found on the floor in the morning after falling from her bed the 2nd time leading to a broken hip.
