My mother-in-law just moved into Longlands, and we, as a family, and my mother-in-law could not be happier. The staff and the manager are amazing, and nothing is too much trouble for them. When we visit, we feel like part of a big happy family. My mother-in-law loved it, the food, the activities and her personal care. I could not recommend Longlands more highly, and thank you all; you are fantastic.

The team at this care home are second to none. They always go above and beyond for the residents and their families. You are always greeted with a smile and welcomed in like a home from home.
The home itself is welcoming, clean, bright and stimulating for the residents. The residents all seem happy and content.

Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, and they always put the care of the residents at the forefront of their practice.

Where do I start. I am so grateful Longlands found us. I had mixed feelings/emotions when my mum had to go into a care home. I was soon reassured, the manager and all her staff are truly amazing and go beyond to make a difference. Thankfully mum has settled in very well, all the staff make the residents feel special in many ways. It certainly feels like home from home. So friendly and very welcoming. Thank you all.

After almost five years as a resident of Longlands, my 95-year-old mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. The staff handled everything professionally and with tact. During my mother's stay, she was treated with love and respect by the members of staff. Despite the difficulties caused by her dementia and the challenges presented by the pandemic. There is no higher praise than the staff were more like friends to us than just employees.

Reply from Michelle Law, Home Manager at Longlands

We are so sorry for your loss – it was such a privilege for the team at Longlands to be able to care for your mother, and she will be missed. Thank you for writing us a review at this difficult time. I will make sure the team sees your feedback as I know it means a lot to them.

My mother has been at Longlands since October 2016, sadly we lost her in October 2022 (this year). The end-of-life care given by the staff has been outstanding in making her as comfortable as possible. We know mum was at home here, she loved and was generally loved by all the staff making a difficult time for me much easier. A huge thanks to the manager and staff at Longlands.

We had a very positive experience when our dad spent two weeks in Longlands recently. The manager and his team are very caring and supportive, nothing was too much trouble. They always made time to talk to us too, and knowing that dad was so cared for helped make it easier during what was a very difficult time for us as a family. Thank you, Longlands you are all great!

Mum has been at Longlands for 4 years now and from our first meeting with the home manager, we have never regretted our decision to more her here. The care she receives is excellent and she has been happy and settled from day 1. All the staff go out of their way to make Mum feel safe and secure and this has been a real source of comfort to the family over the past year in particular. The resident's families are really made to feel part of the Longlands family and communication is excellent.

My mum went into Longlands in April 2016. It took her a while to settle in. The carers have been superb during her residency and with the onset of dementia she now lives a contented life.

She has her favourite carers and other members of the staff to whom she responds really well, She has with the encouragement of the staff, maintaining a sense of humour. At 96 this is remarkable thanks.

Review from Keith D (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 17 June 2019 Submitted via Website

My 97-year-old Mother-in-Law was admitted into Longlands in a poorly state: very frail, anorexic, suffering dementia with incontinence problems. Communication was limited. NHS physicians had informed me privately that she was most unlikely to improve. However, despite these challenging conditions, the staff at Longlands treated her with great kindness and attention at all times.

I couldn't help but notice that as the months passed, my Mother-in-Law's condition steadily improved. She was always clean and smartly dressed, she started eating better and her whole appearance improved. Very slowly, she even regained some strength and was communicating far better, although the dementia obviously remains. That spark of life which I thought was extinguished has been re-ignited. If I had not seen and witnessed it I would not have believed it possible.

Needless to say, I have been deeply moved and impressed with the quite, endless care and love shown by the staff at Longlands.

We cannot praise the staff at Longlands enough for all the care they give all the residents including my Mother in Law. Although we feel her needs have increased recently, the staff take it all in their stride. They do an amazing job and we appreciate their care and attention and kindness. The staff here at Longlands are very good e.g. they are very caring and positive towards the residents, always looking to help with any issues that might arise. Nothing is too much trouble. My father is very happy here. He says the food is great, the attention to detail is great, laundry is great and, because my father is happy and secure, that makes me happy.
