Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My mum attended the day centre while she was living with me, my health suddenly went down and I couldn't then cope with all her needs. She got a place in Marston Court now for 2 years. I can't thank the staff enough for what they do. The food is amazing. Mum always looks so clean and healthy. She's
always happy. The relief I have knowing that she is being looked after so well. I'm living along the road, so I am able to see her.

My dad went to Marston Court for respite, and due to complications, ended up staying for over a year in their care. I felt very relaxed knowing my dad was at Marston Court and being extremely well cared for. I never had to worry about his care and well being; they are amazing. Dad is leaving them shortly
to move in with mum into a flat, but I really do not know what I would have done without their help and support over this period of time.

The decision to place Mum in a care home was extremely difficult to make, but Marston Court has surpassed all expectations and she couldn’t be in a better place. The staff are caring and thoughtful, with a real focus on the true character behind the sometimes frail and sometimes confused person that
Mum has become. I can see she is safe, content and stimulated by the amazing programme of activities that happen each week. She looks good - great hairdresser - and talks very positively about how happy and loved she is, particularly by the wonderful member of staff who has facilitated our Skype meetings during COVID-19. Thank you to all the wonderful staff, I am so grateful for your care.

My nanny has been attending the day centre for a year or more and thoroughly enjoys the excellent activities. She has now got a confirmed permanent placement and the family is very pleased. Nanny seems very happy and her room is lovely. The rooms and communal area are always spotlessly clean. Staff
are really welcoming and so lovely with the residents. I would recommend Marston Court without a doubt.

I can't thank the team enough for looking after my mother, the staff really understand the word dementia and how to cope, how to help and assist the residents.
From the moment my mother arrived, the welcome service and support has been exemplary. It's always a worry when you make the decision to move
a loved one into the care system. My wife and I have been so impressed with all the social aspects of the care home from book reading clubs that we have participated in, to dancing and sing songs. My mother from being quiet and unable to mix has totally changed, she is now up dancing, singing and getting on well with other residents.
My mother smiles, along with her family members who understand the work and effort that goes into making this resident facility excellent.

Over time I have visited many local care homes when calling on people I know. Without a doubt, Marston Court comes out top. The reason it scores highly is the fact that from Monday - Friday it provides a variety of activities for the residents ie visiting artists, day visits out of the home, games and
competitions.

Staff at Marston Court work smoothly as a team. Changeovers are seamless and all the staff are welcoming and attentive. Cleanliness of rooms and all areas is excellent and we never walked into an 'old peoples' smell'. The residents at all times are treated with kindness and individuals are included
in activities and meals together or allowed quiet times when they prefer.

My father has had a number of incidents at the home (falls and medical problems) and the staff have been very fast at notifying me of what has happened. When I visit, the staff are always friendly and eager to tell me what is going on with my father.

My mother had been a resident for 4 years and died this year on the 29th August in her room, under the "hospital in the home" care plan. It was a difficult week for us and we were able to stay the whole week with her day and night. The staff not only cared for mum in every way, but also cared for my
sister and I. All I have is praise for the staff, their concern, compassion and kindness is unforgettable. A million thank you's.

My mother has been going to Marston court daycare twice a week for a few months and we have been thoroughly impressed with the care and activities. Her condition deteriorated and we struggled for a few weeks and were desperate. We were so fortunate that Marston Court had a bed they scooped us up as
a family and enveloped my mother and me in compassion and care. I cannot praise them enough and given that I can no longer manager her at home. I can't think of anywhere else she could be.

My mother has been given a purpose to her daily routine. She looks forward to getting ready to go to the daycare centre 4 days a week.
It started as 2 days and because she loves it so much due to the staff being so caring, thoughtful and sincere, she is felt so welcome and important, the days have
increased. Whenever you enter, the staff always greet you and are always so happy to see my mother. They are always willing to help.

1st impressions of Marston Court are a friendly, homely place, no hospital smells or medical e1quipment in evidence. Not at all institutional. The staff are warm and caring and the day centre is very impressive and lifts Marston Court above 'warehousing'. My sister has improved amazingly since moving
a year ago. She is physically better and has been encouraged and supported in her rediscovering her creativity. Thank you Marston Court.

I cannot praise this care home enough. My sister in law was admitted to the care home 4.5 years ago and passed away peacefully there last month. During her stay, she received excellent care and was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a great
comfort to us as a family, to know she was so well looked after. Thank you to an amazing team, your care and dedication is a credit to the industry. We have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

Sharon

Sharon Fenn

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2001

Sharon started working in a residential home in Oxford in 1982, initially part-time helping with evening refreshments and weekend care work whilst still studying. Sharon’s plans were to join the Police, however, she soon realised that working in care was to be her pathway, never leaving but gaining experience in all job roles until becoming a Home Manager in 2001.


Sharon currently manages Marston Court in Oxford gaining a ‘Good’ with one ‘Outstanding’ on the last CQC Inspection.


Sharon has many hobbies outside of the workplace including playing in a brass band, playing the flute, vice president of the Sandford on Thames WI, spiritual and reiki healer. Sharon will often play her flute for the residents or runs an activity of crafts & flower arranging.
