Marston Court

Great care and great atmosphere.

Over time I have visited many local care homes when calling on people I know. Without a doubt, Marston Court comes out top. The reason it scores highly is the fact that from Monday - Friday it provides a variety of activities for the residents ie visiting artists, day visits out of the home, games and competitions.

Staff at Marston Court work smoothly as a team. Changeovers are seamless and all the staff are welcoming and attentive. Cleanliness of rooms and all areas is excellent and we never walked into an 'old peoples' smell'. The residents at all times are treated with kindness and individuals are included in activities and meals together or allowed quiet times when they prefer.

My father has had a number of incidents at the home (falls and medical problems) and the staff have been very fast at notifying me of what has happened. When I visit, the staff are always friendly and eager to tell me what is going on with my father.

We are delighted with the care and attention my father has/is still receiving.

My mother had been a resident for 4 years and died this year on the 29th August in her room, under the "hospital in the home" care plan. It was a difficult week for us and we were able to stay the whole week with her day and night. The staff not only cared for mum in every way, but also cared for my sister and I. All I have is praise for the staff, their concern, compassion and kindness is unforgettable. A million thank you's.

My mother has been going to Marston court daycare twice a week for a few months and we have been thoroughly impressed with the care and activities. Her condition deteriorated and we struggled for a few weeks and were desperate. We were so fortunate that Marston Court had a bed they scooped us up as a family and enveloped my mother and me in compassion and care. I cannot praise them enough and given that I can no longer manager her at home. I can't think of anywhere else she could be.

It started as 2 days and because she loves it so much due to the staff being so caring, thoughtful and sincere, she is felt so welcome and important, the days have increased. Whenever you enter, the staff always greet you and are always so happy to see my mother. They are always willing to help.

1st impressions of Marston Court are a friendly, homely place, no hospital smells or medical e1quipment in evidence. Not at all institutional. The staff are warm and caring and the day centre is very impressive and lifts Marston Court above 'warehousing'. My sister has improved amazingly since moving a year ago. She is physically better and has been encouraged and supported in her rediscovering her creativity. Thank you Marston Court.

Lovely care home and day centre, very welcoming staff and they make you feel at home. Great food and entertainment. Well done to everybody involved.

I cannot praise this care home enough. My sister in law was admitted to the care home 4.5 years ago and passed away peacefully there last month. During her stay, she received excellent care and was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a great comfort to us as a family, to know she was so well looked after. Thank you to an amazing team, your care and dedication is a credit to the industry. We have no hesitation in recommending the home to others.

There are always a variety of activities and manage to take into account the residents ability. They all work very hard to help stimulate the residents.

I visited my Granny yesterday and I was delighted by the standard of care that she receives. Two members of staff were particularly kind and loving with my Granny, and I really do feel that Marston Court has a homely feel. Love and prayers to everyone at Marston Court and The Orders of St. John.

My husband has been a permanent resident at Marston Court since June 2018, having previously attended the day centre for a few months. It has been an extremely stressful time for us both but the staff have done their utmost to make sure that both our needs are met, with compassion, patience and above all kindness. The staff are very welcoming and receptive to any situation or request, meeting my husband's needs with understanding.

Carers are extremely good - thoughtful, patient, kind and attentive do 150% extra. Home; clean and well laid out especially the garden which is a great asset.

Good entertainment.

My sister is a resident at Marston Court. After a number of years when she has been in a poor state physically and mentally in the community, with many accidents and emergencies, she is thriving with the care and encouragement in Marston Court. I am very impressed with the amount and variety of activities provided, my sister, who has been very socially isolated, attends them all. When you go into the building, you sense a warm, friendly atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are no institutional smells or medical equipment on display.

An exemplary care home whose excellence cascades down from the manager to reach every area and function in its operations. The staff are unwavering in their commitment to provide the highest possible standards. I have been taking my mother (dementia) there for 5 years for activities and respite. I wouldn't continue to do so if I felt their standards slipped, and they haven't.

The home is kept clean and tidy and the newly refurbished day room is a great asset.

My experience is I love Marston Court. Everything to me is excellent.
