Mum has been at Old Station House for over 2 years and is very happy and content there.
While she no longer is really able or willing to participate in many of the activities, the home provides a variety of things for residents to do which is lovely.
The staff all seem lovely and very friendly despite no doubt being very stretched.

At times the home can seem a bit run down and in need of investment but ultimately Mum is happy.

Whenever I vist O.S.H. to see my mother in law I always get a warm welcome from the Staff on duty. On the way to M.I.L. room there is usually an activity taking place in the Atrium which the residents really enjoy. Jeff is brilliant with everybody. MIL's room is spacious, and always kept clean. Mum received exceptional care throughout her time here. Every member of staff was kind, compassionate, and attentive, always treating her with dignity and respect. What meant the most to me was that they saw her as an individual, not just an elderly resident. They took the time to get to know her and ensured she felt valued, comfortable, and cared for every day.

The team also supported us through an incredibly difficult time. They kept us informed, listened to our concerns, and always offered reassurance when we needed it. Their kindness and understanding made such a difference, and over time they became like an extended family. Knowing Mum was safe, happy, and surrounded by people who genuinely cared gave us great peace of mind. We will always be grateful for the compassion shown and would wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful team to anyone looking for outstanding care.

My mother has been a resident for over 2 years now. My impression is that the senior staff are highly competent and caring, taking care of each resident very much on an individual basis, and a considerate effort is put into organising activities, which is appreciated. Care staff are generally good, if sometimes a little stretched. Medical issues are dealt with effectively - there is good oversight of individual requirements. Rooms are single but spacious.

Old Station House is a happy and busy care home. There are always interesting activities going on. My friend here is well looked after and the care from are always helpful and friendly towards him and very welcoming to me. Last week was his birthday and I joined him for the music afternoon. Today 10/09/24 is my dad's 90th birthday. The care home had a wonderful little party for him, and also had booked the Wantage Male Voice Choir (who he used to sing with) to come along and sing a little concert for him and the other residents. it was a really special morning, although dad did find it a bit overwhelming, he managed to join in with some of the songs. It was so lovely to see other residents and some of the staff joining in and singing along to some of the songs as well. We would like to thank all the staff especially the manager for organising this special treat for Dad, his family and other residents as well. Really special memories. Thank you once again.

Old Sation House is not the most glamorous of care homes but it is the warmest in terms of atmosphere energised by the carers and ancillary staff. It's location suits our needs very well. The welcome given each time our relative enters is much appreciated. Facilities are good, meals are all that our relative asks for, needs are met fairly promptly and most importantly in a kindly manner. The entertainment provider and choice of activities are marvellous.
