Since entering Old Station House in July, Mum has adjusted to a new style of living well due to the attention of the staff. The care manager is extremely efficient and helpful. Unfortunately, she is not getting the full experience of Old Station House due to Covid. The Activities Coordinator is a very personable and efficient staff member.

The care my mother receives is excellent. The staff are patient and caring and the home keeps them entertained and included in things. We are very happy with all aspects and my mother joins in and mixes in more now than she has in the last 10 years.

Care and support received is second to none. The staff were like family to my brother throughout his time there, and nothing was too much trouble. Morale is high which cannot have been easy at these difficult covid times. A cheerful and friendly atmosphere is obvious at all times.

The standard of care could be improved. Rooms and corridors are not always as clean as they should be. Not an easy job with so much movement going on. The degree of personal care my wife receives is generally good but some areas are poor. She has two hearing aids, without which she is almost totally deaf. One was lost a few days ago, and today the other did not have any battery in. Not very good as she then lives in a world without communication. All this was reported this morning, at which point no action at all had been taken, although the loss of one aid was reported some days ago. There are good efforts at activities, but it is a pity there are none at weekends, though.

My mother lived at Old Station House for over eight years. The care she received throughout that time was excellent. The staff respected her choices and treated her as an individual. They respond promptly to any concerns they had about her well-being and always kept us informed. They have been consistently caring and always treated her with dignity. We have always felt welcome to visit her at any time. I would highly recommend Old Station House.

My mother was a resident but died in 2016. I have remained in contact with the home as a volunteer. The home is a caring, supportive environment with an excellent activity programme. It is a bright, airy building and resident rooms are very comfortable and homely.

Dad arrived in October 2018 and from day one he was very happy. He enjoys the food, activities and going out on trips to museums and ten-pin bowling, etc.
The activities guy is fantastic with the residents, lots of stimulating activities and he really cares about the residents.

All the staff are friendly too. It is a huge relief for us as a family that he enjoys it here.

As a visitor to two friends in residence, we find the premises bright and clean. The staff are caring and helpful. My only slight concern is the apparent time taken to respond to buzzers. It is clear that a great deal of care and attention is paid to the residents' needs, for comfort, entertainment and mental activity.

It was reassuring to be told when my mother came to live at Old Station House that barring serious illness, she would continue to be cared for at Old Station House until she died. We were particularly impressed by how thoughtfully and kindly she was cared for during the last few weeks of her life.
