Spencer Court is registered for forty-six residents and offers a team of skilled and friendly carers, able to provide residential, early-stage dementia and respite care for older people.

Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.


Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

My father moved into Spencer Court at the end of January 2019. Since then he has been very well cared for by the excellent staff. From my point of view, he is safe, warm, comfortable and well fed. All the staff seem to be very caring, kind and full of good humour. Who knows how much longer he has left
at G4 but at least we know he will end his days in comparative comfort.

Friendly helpful staff. Cheerful under sometimes difficult circumstances. Activities are good although my mum could sometimes do with a bit more encouragement to take part. Rooms are clean and pleasant.

Amazing staff that go above and beyond to make the residents and family members feel welcome and at home. It is my Nan's 'home away from home' and I couldn't have wished for a better place for her to move to since her dementia has progressed.

I have found every member of staff from management to cleaning very friendly. Always ready to help in any way with my mother. They are caring and whenever I've visited, are always happy to chat and tell me how my mother is that day and has been during the previous days.

A lovely welcoming home which mum loves and feels like a home from home.
I would like more updates about how she's doing - maybe something more formalised but so catch up now and again from staff.

It was wonderful and such a relief to see my mum settle so easily and so happily into the home. Compared to other homes I have visited, there is always a carers nearby which is very reassuring.
The staff appear fond of their charges and go the extra mile despite busy schedules.
My only concern is
the need to refresh carers' memories about patients' habits and needs and to monitor their belongings.

I have been here for 10 months and am very happy and settled. I find the care here excellent with competent and genuinely kind and thoughtful carers. I am still fairly active mentally and less so physically but I particularly enjoy discussions and debates so really appreciate organised activities such
as Library club, the literary and art group and we are lucky to have our activities coordinator. Who even organised a wonderful boat trip and picnic yesterday.

Lovely care staff who always greet me and make me feel welcome. The care for my relative is individualised and excellent. He feels safe and describes the home as 5 stars. The food is really good "homestyle" cooking. I have no concerns about the home at all.

I am delighted with Spencer Court. My dad is 96 and has lived in the home for 14months. He is settled and happy, very well cared for by attentive and helpful staff.
The home is run very well and feels a happy place, laughter and singing too.

My mother is now frail but celebrated her 100th birthday this month. The staff were wonderful and helped her family to celebrate this great occasion. Nothing was too small or big for them to help us.


She is well looked after and we are very pleased with all the staff and the extra mile they go to

assist her.

It has been a very positive experience - handled with care by the staff at the home. My mother has settled very well and they have been very supportive and helpful and we can ask for assistance if necessary.

I love being P.A. to the admin assistant. I have been here nearly three years. I love it here.
I had a lovely birthday, the best one. I have a good time with the management.
We are all a big family, we are like sisters and brothers. I get on with the admin assistant and the manager, they are great.
They are good to me.

A well-run care home with well-kept grounds, friendly staff with an above standard of care in modern surroundings. Management seem receptive to any concerns residents may have one area that could be improved is the activities, however, movet are a-foot to improve this issue. I would recommend Spencer
Court without any hesitation.

I have visited Spencer Court on several occasions. I have always found the staff to be patient, kind and understanding. This extends to all the staff I have met, regardless of their role.
Even with more challenging residents, they remain considerate and incredibly patient. The décor and general appearance
of the home appears to be in good order throughout. Visitors are always welcomed and encouraged to take part in activities run by the home if they want.
My uncle is noticeably more relaxed after moving here.

It was a big question but I needed to be looked after after being at home with carers but I still ended up in hospital but with great help from my social worker when she found a room available in Woodstock where I had lived for 53 years and brought up my family and worked at the museum here for 27 years.
It was the perfect place and all my boys and their families would not have to keep worrying about me after my husband had died so now they visit me often. I am very happy here, everyone working here is so kind and caring. I am lucky as it's easy for my friends to visit me and also made very welcome so all in all a very good result.

This is a friendly, caring home, welcomes visitors. Resident appear to be happy and settled. The care is described as offering dignity and involvement by my mother. Concerns from us as relatives are listened to and addressed.

Both the manager and head of care are always available when I wish to discuss any concerns. All the staff are polite and cheerful at all times and really seem to care about the residents. My father was previously in respite at another care home, which he hated and I had grave concerns about with respect
to the care provided. Since coming to Spencer Court he has settled (came in 7th December), and he has now accepted it as his permanent home.

Angela

Angela Champ

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Angela began her career in the care sector as soon as she turned 18 following providing care to a family member at a young age, she knew this was the career for her from that moment. She loves making a difference to individuals residing in the home and supporting her teams within their roles.


She has progressed within her career in a nursing home environment and throughout the last 11 years, she has been privileged to have been provided the most outstanding training and support to be able to confidently manage Spencer Court and to support each and every staff member to achieve their goals and be the best they can be.


She has an NVQ level 3 in health and social care, a city and guilds accredited living in my world dementia qualification and she is currently In progress with her level 5 management NVQ. The dedicated team at Spencer Court work with her to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care and achieve the best outcomes in every aspect for each individual residing at the home.


She feels privileged to take care of people’s loved ones and treat each individual as she would her own family

Spencer Court is a beautiful home situated in the outstanding community of Woodstock and we certainly take every opportunity to make frequent visits with our residents to the beautiful Blenheim Palace.


Angela has lived in Oxford all her life and in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, partner & family, reading and attending to her allotment.

Jane

Jane Ravenhill

Job Title: Head of Care

Jane has worked at Spencer Court since 2012, starting her career as a carer before working her way up to care leader and now the head of care. Jane holds a number of qualifications in health and social care and has recently completed her level 4 diploma in Adult care and also holds a level 3 diploma in leadership and management. Jane knew she always wanted to work in the care sector following caring for both Grandparents when she was younger.


Jane has many fond memories of working at Spencer Court over the years and feels it a very lovely place to work, it feels part of a community and the residents and staff make it so warm and welcoming. She feels they are so lucky to have a link with Blenheim Palace which means lots of trips up to the Palace and grounds when the weather permits.


Jane enjoys spending time with her young family in her free time including walking their dog, going on day trips and holidays. She enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors where she can.

Carole 'Candy'

Carole 'Candy' Andrews

Job Title: Care Leader

Candy has been one of Spencer Court’s Care Leaders since 2017 and has over 20 years’ experience working in the care sector, holding Health and Social Care NVQs at levels 2 and 3. She started as a cook and then decided to step into the care team, eventually becoming care leader.


Candy loves talking to the residents and her caring nature means she finds it easy to be supportive towards them as well as towards her colleagues.

Elaine

Elaine Glastonbury

Job Title: Chef Joined: 2022

Elaine is our chef here at Spencer Court. She joined us after a long career in catering which has seen her working in hospitals, private houses, pubs, and cafes. Elaine has always loved working with food and has gained many qualifications in catering and hospitality as well as team management to support her practical experience.


Elaine enjoys working at Spencer Court; she says her team is like a little family in the kitchen and she enjoys working as part of that team. She loves preparing meals for the residents and ensuring they have a balanced and nutritious diet.


Building on that, Elaine’s goal is to see that each resident is happy with their meals and that she can provide the little extras they so enjoy so that everyone has their favourite things.


Out of work, Elaine loves gardening and DIY as well as Jazzercise. She even taught Jazzercise for five years! It helps keep her fit and well, emotionally and physically.
