Spencer Court

I came for a social distant 15-minute garden visit during lockdown. I was welcomed in and assessed professionally with a very friendly manner as normal. Mum was waiting comfortably in the shade for me and when it was time to leave the staff explained to mum why I had to go simply and plainly staff always helpful, polite and caring.

Spencer Court is efficiently run and my godmother remains well cared for.

Took a while for my mother to settle in, but now she loves residing at Spencer Court told me she feels like the queen and does not have to do anything and all the care staff are very nice to her. My only concern is with getting her toenails cut, she suffers from vascular dementia and her legs and ankles swell up and I had to mention this to the manager as her slippers were ill-fitting. I am happy to see that since an activities coordinator has been appointed there are lots of things for the residents to do.

Mum is well cared for by caring staff. She enjoys most of her meals. Any problems seem to be addressed quickly although I sometimes have to bring the matter to the staff's attention more than once. I feel she could benefit from more 1:1 time as she isn't great at socialising.

I am not a fan of care homes but if this is the only option for your relatives, then it's a purpose-built building. Carers are all friendly and caring. I always think you could do with more so they have shifts of actually spending quality time with the residents. Sometimes when my father needs toiletries, clothes etc we don't get any notice. My father, suffering with dementia seems happy and enjoys all the attention from staff.

Having visited 4 times a week in the past 4 years I would like to congratulate the cleaning staff on their amazing efforts to keep the whole home clean and tidy. Apart from a few carers, I can say that 80% are caring and professional in their approach to residents and their visitors. Well done all.

Management and staff are always helpful, welcoming and smiling, even when they are especially busy. I feel my brother is well looked after.

My father moved into Spencer Court at the end of January 2019. Since then he has been very well cared for by the excellent staff. From my point of view, he is safe, warm, comfortable and well fed. All the staff seem to be very caring, kind and full of good humour. Who knows how much longer he has left at G4 but at least we know he will end his days in comparative comfort.

Friendly helpful staff. Cheerful under sometimes difficult circumstances. Activities are good although my mum could sometimes do with a bit more encouragement to take part. Rooms are clean and pleasant.

Amazing staff that go above and beyond to make the residents and family members feel welcome and at home. It is my Nan's 'home away from home' and I couldn't have wished for a better place for her to move to since her dementia has progressed.

I have found every member of staff from management to cleaning very friendly. Always ready to help in any way with my mother. They are caring and whenever I've visited, are always happy to chat and tell me how my mother is that day and has been during the previous days.

Some fantastic caring staff and well run.

My only concern is the need to refresh carers' memories about patients' habits and needs and to monitor their belongings.

The high quality of the Spencer Court accommodation and facilities were excellent. This was equalled by the dedication and caring of all the staff.

I have been here for 10 months and am very happy and settled. I find the care here excellent with competent and genuinely kind and thoughtful carers. I am still fairly active mentally and less so physically but I particularly enjoy discussions and debates so really appreciate organised activities such as Library club, the literary and art group and we are lucky to have our activities coordinator. Who even organised a wonderful boat trip and picnic yesterday.

Lovely care staff who always greet me and make me feel welcome. The care for my relative is individualised and excellent. He feels safe and describes the home as 5 stars. The food is really good "homestyle" cooking. I have no concerns about the home at all.

The home is run very well and feels a happy place, laughter and singing too.

My mother is now frail but celebrated her 100th birthday this month. The staff were wonderful and helped her family to celebrate this great occasion. Nothing was too small or big for them to help us.

She is well looked after and we are very pleased with all the staff and the extra mile they go to assist her.

We, my brothers and I are happy and feel confident that we are leaving her wellbeing in very capable hands.

We are all a big family, we are like sisters and brothers. I get on with the admin assistant and the manager, they are great. They are good to me.
