Mum moved into The Beeches in November and we have been really pleased. Mum has settled and she is encouraged to join in all the activities which gives her the social contact she was lacking. Mum always mentions that the food is really good. This is important to us because previously, she was not eating or drinking well. All the staff are friendly and approachable.

Very happy with the care my wife had during her stay. The only thing I would like is a better location for visitors.

When I first arrived, I went to sit in the lounge. I took my knitting and that is what I do when there are no activities. I am also allowed to potter in the garden. Of course, there are at least five or six others my age and sometimes I have to zip my mouth, as I don't always agree. The food is adequate and so many others are happy.

I have always found the staff very friendly and helpful on the phone or in person. This has been a very difficult time for all, but especially in care homes. I have been very grateful to the staff for their dedication to the people in their care. They are amazing people who deserve the gratitude of their country. Thank you so much.

Mum moved into The Beeches in September 2019. She is well looked after and comfortable, her carers are very kind to her. During these challenging times, The Beeches management and staff have provided as many options as possible for residents to keep in touch with their family and friends, which means that Mum has been able to enjoy regular contact with her family throughout the Covid pandemic. It is very reassuring to know that Mum is in safe hands.

My mother and I received a warm and reassuring welcome from everyone at The Beeches. All the staff are kind, friendly and efficient, and nothing is too much trouble. I feel my Mother is in safe and caring hands, and I look forward to being able to spend more time with her there when restrictions are further lifted. Well done everyone for doing a great job in difficult times.

My mother has been a resident at The Beeches for almost three years. From my experience, she settled in quickly and is very happy with the care she receives from the staff.
I am impressed with the range of activities on offer, which I frequently follow on Facebook.

I personally, have no concerns at all and would not hesitate to recommend The Beeches to any potential service users.

My father moved into The Beeches in January 2020. Who could possibly have imagined that the world would have a Coronavirus pandemic and the UK would go into lockdown and that all non-medical visits would stop! My father is unable to see small screens, so internet connections would not work for us. However, I phoned regularly and was able to discuss with the staff what was happening with regard to care, testing and all other issues before speaking to my dad. The staff are always helpful and friendly on the phone. They have coped marvellously with the lockdown. My dad sounds cheerful and likes chatting with the team there. It was a huge relief when garden visits started last summer. Then the visits had to stop again. The team put photos on Facebook and send out newsletters keeping the families informed.

I believe the staff at The Beeches have been thorough and efficient in dealing with the pandemic and in looking after the person for whom I am responsible. They have been proactive when necessary and shown appropriate sensitivity when necessary. Staff members' knowledge of their residents' condition and well-being appears good, and I believe they have dealt well with challenging situations.

When restrictions are lifted, I think the group should provide a wider range of activities for residents, including those that involve supervised travel outside the home.

Very caring staff who look after my wife very well as she is in need of considerable amounts of their time. The only problem I can see is that agency personnel are not always of high enough standard to assist the permanent staff.

Reply from Michelle Daniels, Manager at The Beeches

Thank you for your review of The Beeches and we are very pleased that you are extremely likely to recommend our home. In order to ensure that we have the required number of staff to provide care and safety for our residents, we do use agency staff on occasion. Agency staff are primarily used from...

Dad is extremely well looked after by the staff at The Beeches. They have concern for both his physical and mental welfare. During lockdown, they have provided all the love and care that I would have wished, and noticed anything that he needed and let me know. The staff always notify me if Dad is unwell or has a problem. My only concern would be that the area for 'window visits' is really unwelcoming and the lighting is poor so that Dad finds it difficult to see and hear us, but visits are easily arranged.

Reply from Michelle Daniels, Manager at The Beeches

Thank you for your review of The Beeches. We appreciate your lovely feedback and will pass your compliments to the rest of our team. We are in the process of arranging indoor visits and will be in touch with you regarding these. The area for window visits was selected due to it being the safest for...

Mum seems to have settled in well joins in a lot than she did with the activities. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is all home-cooked and fresh. The homemade cakes are to die for (we have missed these due to the Covid-19 crisis) We would highly recommend The Beeches. All the rooms are kept clean and tidy.

Well managed care home with very caring staff who look after the residents very well. Food and drink seem satisfactory and activities, though limited, are probably appropriate for the residents. Standards of safety and security have been high during the covid 19 pandemic.

My mum came here in August 2018 after a major operation. She was in a lot of pain and very confused but the staff here made her comfortable and were very kind. After a few very unsettled months, mum started to relax a bit and join in with the activities offered. Now, over a year later, she is like a different person. She is happy, giggles a lot, loves the singing, activities and generally enjoys life. My only negative is that they don’t seem to be given many cold drinks during the day. I have only noticed these at mealtimes.

Reply from Michelle Daniels, Manager at The Beeches

The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Mum always looks well cared for and happy.

My only negative would be her wardrobe being used to dump pads, which should be kept in the bathroom, so her personal belongings are not hidden.

Reply from Michelle Daniels, Manager at The Beeches

Thank you for taking the time to review The Beeches and we are pleased that you rate our staff as excellent. We try and keep pads out of view to protect resident’s dignity and have requested that your mum’s key worker re-organises her wardrobe to ensure her personal belongings are not hidden.
