Eastlake in Godalming is situated close to the South Downs National Park. The home continues to welcome new residents and provides residential and dementia care for up to 52 residents in homely and comfortable single ensuite rooms.

Eastlake is operated by Anchor, they are England's largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people over the age of 55 years with more than 60 years of experience in the sector.

They work with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans, ensuring individual health and care needs are continually met. Eastlake is a home from home for residents. The level of care and kindness is unbelievable. All staff members are cheerful, and always happy to help in any way. They went over and above to make our family member welcome and settled, a lot sooner than we had expected. The manager is very professional,
and friendly and approachable. The overall feeling of this home is a great team of caring staff. What more could we ask for? Eternally grateful to all!

Mums been struggling along at home since dad passed away, particularly loneliness. Not always motivated to do the day to day things unless family were around here. We were due to go on holiday and luckily Eastlake were able to help and have mum with them. Bit of a revelation in the end for mum, came
to the end of the week and didn't want to go home! Has been able to stay on and looking to make it a long term move.
Really caring environment and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

Mum came to Eastlake for respite. She wasn't happy and was adamant she was going home at the end of the 4 weeks. We visited daily to help her settle in. The first few days she wanted to stay in her room but that changed when the carers came to her room and encouraged her to go to the activities. Mum
isn't used to doing things on her own so it meant a lot that all the staff helped her settle in. Mums 4 weeks are at an end and she doesn't want to leave! The staff are all so lovely, they really do care. Everything has been well thought out to encourage independence with safety in mind. Everyday is a treat. Mum loves the food and choices available. There's always freshly baked cakes, biscuits and fresh fruit to help themselves to. Tea and coffee Is always being offered. I feel so lucky to have found Eastlake for mum. She is in the best place and I know she is happy and safe all of the time. Thank you to everyone at Eastlake for making mum and us feel so welcome and part of the family.

Overall the home gives a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Repair work has been carried out and the residents are encouraged to get involved in various activities. Communication methods with family members are flexible and action items are worked inconsistently. The Team leaders
and management welcome suggestions and response time is outstanding.

My mother died at Eastlake in August 2024, having lived there for nearly 10 years. We are so grateful to the Eastlake staff for the love and respect they showed to mum. The tenderness with which carers spoke of mum and took care of her was beautiful. Eastlake's open-door policy has meant that we've
been able to treat Eastlake as a second home. We always felt welcome and we could enjoy time with mum knowing that her needs were being met. I recommend Eastlake to everyone who is looking for a care home, it's a special place.

My wife has lived in Eastlake for a couple of years, following a diagnosis of Dementia, and caring advice from Social Services that, because of illness, I was no longer capable of looking after her at home. In hindsight, I have no regrets. Eastlake is knowledgeable, purpose-built, smallish, two stories,
in relateable size units, and a pleasant garden. The rooms are en-suite, fitted with the usual aids, and with a view into the garden. The units each have a lounge and dining room opening out of a large hallway with comfortable chairs. My wife often sits in the hallway. I sit with her and, as a by-the-way, have a good view of the activity. What I see and hear squares up with what I would expect as 'best practice'. At a more individual level, my wife was hospitalised after a fall, and her re-entry to Eastlake was made possible by the intelligent use of a hoist, rotunda, and wheelchair. When I visit, the staff greet me by name and with the offer of tea and biscuits. Nice!

My mother came to Eastlake as she has Alzheimer's, had started refusing entry to her home by her visiting carer and no longer initiated eating or drinking enough. She had lost a lot of weight and had become frail and wobbly. Since being at Eastlake she has been filled with support and kindness and a
social environment. The food is truly excellent she has now regained the weight she lost and looks much more healthy despite the inevitable decline in her cognitive function. She is safe and well looked after and no longer a worry.

I visited my godmother regularly and unannounced and was always impressed by the empathy and professionalism of the staff. The standard of care was clear to be seen and I felt staff went above and beyond for both the resident and relative. I was always offered tea or coffee during my visits. I'm so
glad that my godmother's final years were spent under the care of such carers.

My aunt appears content at Eastlake. She speaks highly of the staff and has attempted to introduce us to her favourite caretakers (not working that day). They are respectful of her meal choices and her request to stay in her room with the door closed. She has lived her life her way and they respect
that. They are very friendly and helpful. We do appreciate their care in a profession that can be hard, emotionally draining, and thankless. We are grateful for their care.

Staff are very welcoming on my arrival. My mum is happy there. I strongly feel that the staff could make more effort to encourage my mum to leave her room more often to eat in the dining room with the other residents and to encourage her, tell her about the activities on offer and assist her getting
to them rather than just visiting her in her room. Mental health is important and she needs to intearct with the other residents more and not just the staff.

I went to visit a client of mine who was struggling to live at home. Her family decided a care home was the best thing for her. On visiting, my client was happy, well presented, putting on some weight and well hydrated. I was completely amazed with the care she has been receiving. I was offered a drink
and also chatted with the carers on duty.

All the staff at Eastlake are so kind, friendly, approachable and authentic. They are happy to give advice and are available to chat with. They listen to my concerns and fears, and I feel looked after like Mum.
Eastlake has done an amazing job with Mum; they have shown great patience, resilience and
care towards her. I'm delighted that she is there and that her Alzheimer's needs are catered for.

My mum has been a resident at Eastlake since November 2022. It is a very friendly home and I feel very comfortable visiting my mum. The day time staff are very approachable, kind and experienced. They care for my mum as an individual and are genuinely interested in her welfare, even though at times
she can be challenging. The night staff are often agency and, according to my mum, not the same as normal ones! The meals provided, in my opinion, are not always suitable for the age of the residents and the standards are variable.

Excellent end of life care. Mum was in Eastlake for three and a half years and socialising with staff was important, as she preferred to stay in her room. Staff were very friendly and good support for me. Thank you Eastlake.
